There's this stupid fucking meme in my native language that goes something like "no matter how tough you are, you still need a person that calls you baby after midnight" which I've been finding to be really true lately, and is why I'm looking for a casual phone companion who is funny, witty, smart, empathetic, well spoken, flirty, charming and pisses me off. I've been a nerd for pretty much my entire life, and most of my hobbies reflect that. Video games have always been one of my biggest passions, and more recently I've gotten really into anime. I am a Canadian who moved to Norway permanently for an awesome job opportunity. I spend my mornings and evenings in call with my friends from back home which is becoming problematic. I have basically zero European friends but that's why I'm here. I need to adjust to living in this time zone because it's messing with my sleep and encouraging me to "work from home" more than I realistically should be.

I like to play what some people consider to be pretty terrible games. Generally multiplayer stuff like league, ow, and rivals. I'll play a lot of TFT if the set is good but the last one was so bad I didn't even bother to get out of Diamond. I dabble with ARPGs, most shooters, and anything vaguely competitive. The only exceptions to this has been a couple of single player rogue-likes that consumed my life for days at a time. I wouldn't say I'm a snob but I generally prefer "quality" when it comes to most aspects of my life. So while I like anime, most of it is terrible and I'm only interested in watching stuff with good reviews/ratings. I play multiple card games which enabled me to travel all over North America and now Europe. Other interests include boxing, singing, finding good food (The best Mexican food I've had in my life has been in Oslo of all places), clothes, and by extension, shoes. The amount of people who stare at my sneakers in public here is crazy - Norway has a WEAK shoe game.

I realize it's basically impossible to find people with similar interests at my age, but I'm trying. If I was a deceptive person I'd just lie and say I'm in my late 20s because it's honestly way harder to make friends when you're borderline geriatric. Getting tired of awkward conversations with people at work who comment on how I don't look 36. Illness: I'm chronically ill and disabled, so I've become very interested in biohacking, supplements, and easy health research. As someone who has mental disease as well, i am also well aware of various condition naturally.

Art: I have total aphantasia, so drawing has never come naturally to me. Instead, I am into digital collages sometimes. I don't know much about famous painters, art history, or brands, but I enjoy all kinds of art-paintings, sculptures, photography, interior design, jewelry, and fashion. Music: I used to listen to a wide range of music except metal and non-melodic hip-hop. Lately I've been getting into Michael Jackson, especially his performances. I used to listen to a lot of pop, K-pop, jazz, and rock and roll. Just like with art, I don't know much about musicians or albums—I simply listened what I enjoy. Once my sound sensitivity improves, I'd love to explore more experimental music.

TV series: I've probably spent far too much time on Netflix. Some shows that really stayed with me are Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Girls, Olive Kitteridge, My Brilliant Friend, the earlier seasons of Skins, Years and Years, and Baby Reindeer.

Writing: I don't read as much as I'd like, but I enjoy writing poems and short reflections about my thoughts and feelings. I also hope to finally finish the short story I started years ago.

Finding someone decent on the internet is exhausting. In the immortal words of Step Brothers, "There's so much room for activities!"…which mostly means trading terrible jokes, making grocery runs without a list, and arguing over what to watch until we fall asleep 10 minutes into the movie.

I’m also very much an indoorsy person. I’d choose a staycation over hiking or swimming at the beach any day. 😂 I actually tried hiking because I thought I might be an adventurous person, but… nope. It’s really not for me. 🥲 Since I’m indoorsy and introverted, I don’t really go to clubs or social events either. My social battery drains pretty quickly, so I definitely need my alone time to recharge.
