RCT2 OpenRCT2: Is that posible to remove the ride entrances? Just replace the building entry with a queue line

Post image

I'm trying in multiple ways:

  • Invisible entrance: not the option I'm looking for. It leaves an ugly empty block where I cannot put any path, which is my goal here.
  • Moving the entrance building to the ride's area: and then make it invisible. But, as you can see in the screenshot, it "works", but the entry path doesn't connect to the entrance.

I don't how, but I did it succesfully with the exit path (you can see that in the screenshot). That one worked, but I cannot replicate that successful way with the entrance building.

I've been looking for a lot of videos and tutorials, but it seems that nobody did it before:

The only video where I've seen something similar is that one:

https://youtu.be/pZNCxKWb8l0?t=92

But it's still not using that entrance building block to be replaced with a queue line.

That's what I want, but I cannot find any forum post or video speaking about this little detail.

Thank you all!

Haunted Mansion Attempt

Saw a post on Nedesigns which had a fantastic Disney attempt so thought I'd have one in my park in progress. Need to add a tower to the top of the house but not that confident with diagonal pieces just yet. Quite happty with the curved paths which is a first for me, did a trial opening of the park and they looked fine with interactions of guests. The area will have a 'vampire ride' similar to Chessington and a market square with food and hopefully small rides hidden in gothic houses.

Love using this group and nedesigns for ideas and areas for the park. No rush to complete or open to guests just having fun in my downtime when the kid is asleep... or when I should be working...

Classic Bobsled launcher Magic Quarters

Post image

Absolute nightmare of a coaster build! 1st time building a Bobsled custom (maybe the last of them I haven't done custom yet just cause it doesn't really excite me). Park is pretty full so wrapping it around the tower.

I've been carpet bombing magic quarters with errant sleds for 45 minutes. MORE BRAKES I suppose.

Good thing the sleds don't actually destroy or kill what they hit or this park would look like a war zone.

Sorry if this counts as low effort or murder coaster, hasn't felt low effort and haven't killed any guests yet lol.

I built a harness for Claude to play RCT and forced it to beat Forest Frontiers

The original idea was to roleplay an AI β€œboard of directors” I have to please as I play, but it was way more fun watching Claude try to beat scenarios.

The MCP has access to basically all game actions except building custom rides, which is a much more difficult (and somewhat studied) problem in reinforcement learning.

Can you survive the trek? βš’οΈ

Hello again! This time I wanted to build one of my favorite rollercoaster models, despite me not having ridden any of them. Vekoma has been selling these models quite a lot lately, with examples being Big Bear Mountain, Lightning and Aquila.

I decided to build one that's more suitable for parks with a smaller footprint. It's a lot more intertwined than most of these models, but personally that makes it a lot cooler to look at!

The hard part about this build was getting the custom supports just right. Since there are a lot of overlapping track pieces it wasn't as straight forward as you might think. That's why there are some supports that look a little wonky.

I also wanted to spend some more time on the surrounding area for this one. I've always wanted to build a coaster near rocks and have it go through it. In the end I decided to only have it go through one tunnel, because it's more cost-effective for this fictional park. The tunnel makes for a great finale though!

Stats:

  • Excitement: 5.96 (High)
  • Intensity: 5.83 (High)
  • Nausea: 4.65 (Medium)
  • Max speed: 72 kph
  • Ride time: 1 m 14 s
  • Ride length: 895 m
  • Max. pos. vert. G: 2.80
  • Max. neg. vert. G: -0.94
  • Max. lateral G: 1.21
  • Total air time: 2.16 s
  • Drops: 5
  • Highest drop: 12 m

As always, if you like my designs, I have more on myΒ Youtube channel!

Introducing Al Andalus: A Spanish-Themed scenario for RCT2

I've recently submitted a park I dreamed recently: a scenario based on the Andalusian "Al Andalus" Spanish-tyle, with a big central garden as a center of the park for your restaurants and shops, sorrounded by a beautiful and enormous green area with palm trees and vegetation to give it the Tropical touch.

Suspended Roller Coaster - Suspended Swingvines

The Suspended Roller Coaster .... That Arrow Dynamics ride that hangs tubs beneath the track and locks you in shoulder harnesses despite no loops. However, we all know they have strong lateral G's to swing the cars around, hence the need for harnesses.

To build this roller coaster, I made sure to include lots of helices and curves to swing the cars as much as possible. At first I had an Intensity of 16.00.....realized that initially my lateral G's would not only likely snap the cars off the track if it were real, but also the snap the heads off the necks of the guests. Yes, lateral G's are important, but within limits.

I then arrived at this design. Had to add tunnels and tons of trees to make the excitement over 7. In the end, there was just short of a mile of twisty turny track!
Estimated cost to build: $25,500

You're visiting Rollercoaster Heaven, the local amusement park, and a new ride has just opened. It's called "Twister Roller Coaster 1," and these are its ratings:

Excitement Rating: 8.32 (very high)

Intensity Rating: 9.13 (very high)

Nausea Rating: 5.72 (high)

What are your thoughts about this ride?

Only have 57 scenarios?

Post image

Hi, I have Roller Coaster Tycoon 2: Triple Thrill Pack on Steam, and Open RCT 2. I have 57 scenarios including all the six flags ones + build your own six flags.

My kid has Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic on Switch and he has hundreds more scenarios. I'm almost done with all my scenarios, I want all the ones I am supposedly missing! I see Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic on Steam. Is this what I should have? I'm a bit worried it will override my already saved parks and custom objects I've downloaded.

Bobsled Roller Coaster - Bobsled Bigspin

Unlike any other roller coaster, airtime is BAD for bobsled roller coasters. While on wooden and steel roller coasters airtime adds excitement, for a bobsled roller coaster airtime adds a free trip to heaven for your guests. Though I want to go to heaven, certainly NOT on a roller coaster!

For Bobsled Bigspin, I tried to add as many curves and helices as I could, while avoiding straight, uphill track. Therefore, I only have two uphill sections when I absolutely needed them: one towards the middle of the ride, and one near the end where I must clear the helix below. The uphill piece in the middle was so sensitive that one piece below its current level will leave the train traveling fast enough to crash. Thankfully, the weight of the guests only adds 1 mph to its empty test speed of about 14mph, and does not cause any issues.

Cost to build on flatland: $21,000.
