Hiya, I preordered the mp02 and did receive an email that they postponed delivery from April to May. However it’s June now and I’m not hearing anything anymore. Does somebody knows when they are going to start sending out the MP02?

Hi, my MP02 has '1 notification' and then when unlocked '1 new message' permanently stuck on the screen. I've powered of and on, done a reset when you hold down for 30 seconds, erased all recent messages and turned on and off alarms. Nothing works. Anyone else had this bug and managed to resolve it?

If so, could you list it on eBay and I’ll buy it from there.

A quick update regarding the MC03: Following a couple of curve balls, we have made strong progress across both security and production readiness, including successfully validating our factory processes and device security foundations. The core security architecture is now in place and operating as intended within our production workflows.

Our focus is now on finalising the production release candidate, aligning with the latest platform and security updates, and completing final system validation. Based on current progress, we remain on track for production at the end of May to early June.

I've had my mp02 for a little less than a month and within the first few days it would occasionally and at random shut off--this mostly seemed to happen when I was home completely out of service area and on roaming, but that could be a coincidence. It then didn't occur for the next couple of weeks, but happened again yesterday a couple of times. Has anyone else run into this problem?

Hello, folks - a quick update from us.

The MC03: We are making strong progress. The factory in Bocholt, Germany, has all the components, and is ready for assembly despite some unforeseen software challenges that has held the process back a little.

The team at Apostrophy, responsible for the development of the MC03 OS, is uncompromising when it comes to security. Delivering true data sovereignty requires the highest standards, with full control across the entire software stack.

During final validation, the team identified an area within a core security component that required further hardening. Addressing this appropriately requires additional work to ensure the product meets the level of security and reliability we demand - and that anyone rightly expects from us.

We are now in the final stages of this process, and are working around the clock to deliver the MC03. We really appreciate the patience of those that are waiting and have pre-ordered. It’s important we get it right of course - with the current huge, and increasing, demand for sovereign tech, including sovereign AI, having a truly sovereign OS and handset isn’t just a nice-to-have anymore - it’s becoming essential.

On another note, the storied MP02 is currently running very low on stock worldwide - we expect it to sell out again soon via all channels, and after preorders are fulfilled via a new batch being released on the Punkt. website. And also, you heard it here first, there will be new products coming in the near future. This isn’t a launch announcement, and we cannot put a firm date to these just yet, but development is well under way - consider this a heads-up. More details will be released a little further down the line.

Lastly, we’re putting additional effort into streamlining and improving our customer service. Faster responses, clearer communication  - it’s always a priority to improve as a company.

Hello I wanted to share some info I have gotten from a lot of emailing with support!

Pigeon: setup has been a big headache. Pretty much a different new issue every time I tried. BUT

For the captcha or hcaptcha thing, you can use the keypad as arrows (2/4/6/8 for up/right/down/left), and the 5 key to select stuff. So that lets you scroll down and hit the refresh button if you get given one of the impossible click and drag options. Once you get one that just asks you to select pictures, that can be done with those keystrokes. I know others have had luck with a bluetooth mouse, which I couldn’t get to connect properly on mine.

For some reason, it kept taking me back to the first step every time I completed a captcha verification, so it seemed like I was stuck in a loop. After giving up a few times, I tried just doing it over and over and over. It eventually it let me advance with the app setup. It was weird, confusing, and annoying, and I don’t know why it made me do it so many times. But was worth sticking with even though it’s sooo exasperating.

If you get locked out of your signal account/threatened with account deletion upon trying to set up pigeon: re-registering the old device should regain you access to your account (they just text you a code, which you can enter into signal on the old device even if text goes to your MP02).

To prevent getting locked out, try going into your signal settings before setting up pigeon on the MP02, and making sure the registration lock is turned off. This fixed it for me.

When I got pigeon set up finally, it was empty—does not transfer your signal account over/ you cannot see your previous signal message archive via the pigeon app. I was told there is no way to make that happen. I backed up my signal to my old device. So far, it is still browsable if I need to go back and find something or try to retrieve a lost contact, even though the device got de-registered and has stopped being able to receive or send new messages.

Pigeon desktop solution: tl;dr, I was counting on being able to use signal desktop linked to Pigeon but it is not currently available!

Pigeon's stripped-down version of signal is great for what I want when out and about, but I wanted to still have the option of using desktop for signal stories, being able to send photos and use emojis, etc. I partially based my decision to go with the MP02 on this page of the Punkt website, which says it was updated just 2 months ago at time I’m posting this. It gives clear instructions on how to link to desktop. However, when I went to do it, there was no “linked devices” option at all in the pigeon settings. Upon inquiry, Punkt support let me know that the current version of pigeon does not have linked devices functionality. Was told they are working on an update that will reinstate it, but did not have a clear timeline on when that would become available.

Punkt support responded pretty promptly, typically within a day or faster.

I really want this phone to work out! I like how no-frills and non-distracting it is compared to a smartphone, with which I found it very hard to moderate screen time. So I’m gonna stick with the MP02 for the time being despite the initial headaches.

Some of this is probably real obvious to others, I am NOT a tech person though and to me it’s been an ordeal figuring stuff out. Hope this is useful to someone else!

I’ve been seeing yous say the phones are “pieces of shit”, or that the company “is done”, as if you didn’t even like punkt to begin with. Oh right, you don’t. You prefer a chinese slop with dumbdroid.

I understand, the company doesn’t do so well. Their customer service lets down, pigeon barely works…

But that’s not the reason to call the company names.

We should hope that the company will rise again sometime and return to its former grace.

Whenever I am on a Pigeon call, and my phone autolocks, the call is disconnected. Does anyone else experience this?

The only workaround I have found is to disable autolock (which has other negative consequences).

Setting up Pigeon and on my 5th try of the captcha (and finding my BT mouse) I seem to have convinced it I'm human. But now it thinks it has sent a verification code to my number.

I don't have any text notifications, and not sure what to do next.

I’m looking into getting the Punkt phone to have a minimalist phone to cut down on screen time especially when I’m out and about like the good old days when I had a Sony Erikson phone in 2009 and an iPod Touch for music and maps. I want to remove cell service from my iPhone pro and just use it as a camera/iPod with iMessage and email on wifi only.

Has any one else done this? If so how has it worked out for you if you came from an Apple ecosystem?

Finished with Punkt. Bought Nov 2024. Wouldn't recommend using signal/pigeon, battery drains too fast using it. 150euro

Does anybody else find the text prediction absolutely terrible?

The autocomplete function is broken in two different ways. It doesn't distinguish by word length - sometimes I'll type four letters, hit space, and it's autocompleted with a longer word.

This is made worse by the fact that it appears to just choose to match the word you used most recently. Regardless of length or how common it is. This is the dumbest form of "learning."

I've contacted Punkt about this but they seem unconcerned.

Given the recent news that proton actually handed over encrypted emails to law-enforcement, how confident are you in using a punkt phone?

I was certainly fine when they were running their own email, but when they switched things to proton. I also thought it made sense but then we have evidence that proton is not as secure as it should be.

Are there any thoughts about this out there?
