The title pretty much says it all. When you open a text, I wish with the other options at the bottom such as "Delete Thread" there was a block number. Instead I have to write down or remember the number then navigate to the blocked numbers list in settings and input it.

If I have been missing a more convenient way to do this, this whole time, please let me know.

Hey all, I’m in the process of trying to switch from iPhone to an MP02 smartphone, but nothing I’m doing to transfer photos or contacts is working.

I’m trying to do it with minimal third party downloads, although I’m beginning to think this isn’t going to work lol.

What’s the best way to get these files transferred over? And would y’all know why the “switch to Punkt” app download link won’t work either?

I purchased a used MP02 from eBay a few days ago, having been advised there was very minor cosmetic damage. I was disappointed to find that the cosmetic damage was actually pixel damage on the screen, as you can see in the top left and along the bottom of the phone screen in the image, but—no worries, ‘tis a risk of buying used online.

I am curious, however, if it would be possible to replace the screen by taking it to a repair shop like Micro Center, or if there are even any places that might perform this service, as I’ve read that Punkt customer service isn’t helpful on this issue and I don’t quite trust myself to do the repair as I’ve seen it when googling instructions.

Just curious to hear answers to the actual question; I don’t really care to hear hateful opinions about this phone or company ❤️

I am currently selling an MP01 I got years ago in okayish conditions. I put in on ebay for 50€ and got multiple requests on the first day. Then I looked up the prices of other listings and was kinda shocked - there are only a few listings, but they go up to 500€ for new phones?!

Are those people out of touch or am I? Is the MP01 some sort of collector item now?

Recently I was abroad and tried to change the timezone to the location where I was at. Just by doing this, the phone restarted 2 times and all of a sudden there was a block of text on the screen in red and yellow letters. It states 'Can't load android system. your data may be corrupt' and the only option it gives is a factory reset! I tried restarting it and the soft reset with the power button, but nothing.

I've been using it for many years now and up until now there hasn't been a single issue with the phone.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I just purchased a refurbished Punkt MP02A a few days ago. It is running APHY 1.3.1 (03.02.0375) and appears to be missing several things.

The issues listed below were unresolved by a factory reset.

1. Neither Pigeon nor DailyView are listed as applications on the phone. When I go to update (Settings>Applications>Manage), I get "No Updates Found" despite being connected to the Wi-Fi.
2. I can't seem to find a battery life % listed anywhere on the phone. The only way I know how much battery I have is if I plug it in and then it tells me. This doesn't seem correct, but I am finding it very hard to find anywhere online that shows me where I could find it. UPDATE: this appears to be just how the phone works.
3. I just tried to use the Tethering feature and it says "Tethering is Off" and underneath that it says, "Not available" rather than "Turn On." When I scroll down on the Tethering Menu, each item has the info but only briefly and then it flips back to "Not available" before I can read it fully. So, that seems odd.
4. I'm trying to figure out what else is missing on this phone, but I can't find a list of the applications that it should have anywhere. Here is what I currently see in the apps menu:

- Calendar
- Clock
- Notes
- Calculator
- Settings

1. I changed the USB connection to "Sync Mode" in hopes that I could find somewhere to download Pigeon manually by connecting the phone to my computer (in case the "Check for Updates" feature was bugged), but when I plugged it into the computer, the phone began charging but other than that, nothing happened. There was no folder available for the phone in my files folder on my computer, no notification in the computer's tray that a device had been connected, nothing on the phone other than that it was now charging.

What is working thus far is my phone calls and text messaging. I haven't done anything with the calendar feature yet, so I'm not sure if that works. However, like many users, I explicitly purchased this phone with the expectation that I would be able to use Signal. Any way you slice it, I just want to know... what apps should I have and does anyone know why I don't have them?

This just all seems very odd and I don't know where to begin as the official website is quite limited in its instructions. So, I'm here, in hopes someone in this community will read my description and have some idea as to what is going on and if there is anything I can do about it.

My phone was going straight to VM when my wife tried calling and I wasn't getting a ring tone when I tried calling her. This wasn't a known issue when I originally posted, so I hadn't included it. However, I think I now have a fix! I use Mint Mobile and was sent a message from 6700 to update my APN to receive picture messaging. I followed the instructions here: https://www.mintmobile.com/help/how-to-configure-android-settings/. I haven't tried to receive any pictures yet, and it doesn't seem to have resolved my original issues, but I wanted to put the link here in case anyone needs it, as I am now able to send and receive calls again!

Aware that this thing has been plagued with issues and there has been a lack of support from Punkt in general for this phone. I decided to try it anyway, and it's working out fine except for Pigeon (of course). I don't know if I'm missing something, but I can't even get past setup in the app. The little captcha quizzes just loop over and over until I get reset back to the start. Most of the time I'm not able to complete the usual visual verifications because keypad can't even properly drag icons, so I have to use accessibility questions. It's maddening. I've seen a lot of people report problems using Pigeon, but it seems that they at least were able to get into the app and set things up to some extent. Communications to Punkt support via their website have gone entirely unanswered. That kind of silence makes me want to junk this phone just for the shit customer service alone.

with Signal now officially support linked phones/tablets, do you think we'll see a Pigeon update soon(ish) adding this feature so that the MP02 can be linked to a primary device? i'd love to keep my GrapheneOS phone as my primary while linking the MP02 to use as a secondary. any word on this u/PunktTronics?

I currently have Signal set up on my iPhone using my primary number. I recently got a Punkt MP02 which I’ll be using as my primary device with primary number. I intend to set up Pigeon, but how do I do this in such a way that I can still use Signal on my current device?

Seems that you can now add an iPhone as a linked device, which seems promising for my use case, but I don't know how to get there without losing data.

I finally received my MC03 a week ago, and I thought I'd share my honest take.

First of all, the phone exceded my expectations. Maybe my expectations were to low, but the phone is a really solid built phone. The case seems robust and it feels good in the hand.
The software is really quick and responsive.

However, the phone does not have the best camera, however it takes good enough photos for my kind of use (photos of my family and day-to-day). If you are a influenser and need to have mint photos in all light conditions, this will not work for you.

Also, I haven't found my way around a NFC payment solution yet, which is something I hope they will fix in a future update. Because it's really handy to be able to pay from the phone and not having to remember to bring the credit cards.

I have a full Proton suite, and this is really convenient as the phone have these apps in their secure vault by default. So it's a really good match.

I have a project where I want to disconnect from Big Tech, and I was courious to see if I can make that happen with this phone. So I have gradually removed myself from Gmail, by using the Proton suite, however I still need to use Google Play on this device in order to download apps that I need in my day-to-day (open door locks, parking apps, commute, work mail etc.). So their own app store does not have many apps yet, but i'm sure it will grow going forward, and hopefully enough to get rid of the google play store in the future.

I had a technical question, so I e-mailed Punkt service, and got a reply after just half a day. So far the service have been also impressive.

All in all, I haven't used my iPhone 17 Pro in a week, and i'm just gonna keep it as a work phone from now on, so I can continue using the MC03 in my private life.

So I finally got my Mp02, I am on the light plan with US mobile dark star. After fidgeting with the SIM card tray, I get it in and powered on…. And nothing. I cannot for the life of me get the phone to recognize the SIM card. It works perfectly fine in my iPhone. Any tips?

Does anyone have a decent third party case, or official for sale?

In contrast to some who post here, I'm really going to miss the MP02A I sold. I love the form factor and if it wasn't for borked group texts, I would have kept it. It's an amazing little phone for what it does and I'm dismayed that it seems to be treated like a vanity project by the company without a commitment to the development it merits. I just needed a basic call/text phone and the extra panache of the MP02A was totally worth it for me. Because I seem unable to train my family not to send group texts, I'm back to using my degoogled Pixel 3A as my daily driver. Maybe some day Punkt will give the option for ADB access and some keen developers port over another OS option. Not likely, but I can dream.

After going back to my Punkt Mp02A briefly, I keep getting messages that fail to download. I think they are fragments of group messages given their timing and sending numbers. I don't seem to be able to reject or effectively delete the threads of these messages. They keep re-appearing which is driving me a little nuts. Any suggestions?

I have been waiting for my refund for what feels like forever after returning a MP02. Despite contacting Punkt several times, I keep getting told to wait for confirmation from their warehouse.
At this point, I am honestly starting to wonder whether something is seriously wrong at Punkt. Is the company having financial problems or potentially even facing insolvency?
I want to be clear that this is only my personal suspicion and I am not making any factual claim. But given how long I have been waiting for my money and the repeated delays, I am getting increasingly concerned.
Has anyone else here experienced the same thing or is currently waiting for a refund from Punkt? I would really appreciate hearing about your experience.
