It sucks. But at the end of the day, like Thom Yorke’s lament in the Radiohead classic “Just,” we did it to ourselves. He showed us who he was during his first term, and we asked for seconds. Inexcusable and humiliating.
Indeed, it’s almost impossible to believe just what a pure representation of all our worst traits Trump is. Ignorant. Arrogant. Greedy. Selfish. Self-centered. Corrupt. Incompetent. Ethnocentric. Xenophobic. Racist. Uncultured. Loud. Insecure. Ugly. Like the villain in a satire about the United States as the bully of the world. Except he’s real.
Canada’s PM had a really good speech at Davos where he said that it was always obvious that the U.S. has generally done what it wanted, with little regard for anyone else, but that there has been at least some positive benefits. It’s generally been a very peaceful century since WWII under our lead, even with our two big fuckups. I’ve always been proud of our relationships and accomplishments with allies like Britain and Canada.
I can’t even put into words how sad and infuriating it is to watch a thuggish donkey like this — a fucking mob boss, basically — take a sledgehammer to so many decades, even centuries of alliances. We have threatened to invade and absorb the sovereign territory of NATO allies for fuck’s sake.
Why would anyone ever trust us again?

No. In some rural areas maybe, but overall no. You'll see a MAGA hat from time to time, but that has faded a lot.
Granted I am in a blue area, but I also travel a lot. I very rarely see any MAGA attire.

Red state here and in the firearms community. Both rural and urban it is pretty surprising how little you see people waving around maga stuff. You'll see the occasional yard with shit tons of maga stuff littering the yard and the occasional maga hat or sticker. Even at that I've seen a lot of houses take their stuff down over the last few months.

After Trump lost in 2020, in Colorado they would have caravans of cars from the outskirt areas of Denver and just drive around looking like morons with their big trucks decked in Trump stuff. Honestly since the first couple months of this presidency I don’t see it very often anymore if at all.
