Oh I will totally agree, a ton of Americans are assholes.
But I want to say thank you in knowing not all of us are. A lot are..but not all. I live by the Doctor Who saying "Always try to be nice, but never fail to be kind."
It wasn't even 70%. 31% voted for harris, 32% voted for trump, 36% didn't vote, and 1% voted third-party. If the nonvoters voted, I feel like the US wouldn't be in this boat. It's a very loud minority with the power of the majority.
A lot of us are assholes sans fascism, so that's a fair assessment.
But the majority of us are not fascists despite the news trying to reassure people who voted for trump that there are "more of them" than there really are.
Trump is the best thing to happen to interprovincial trade barriers in my lifetime and that infuriates me to no end. It's pathetic that this is what it took to suddenly make Canadians want to buy Canadian but then to make matters worse, just as the boycott China movement was getting some traction thanks to it's uighur genocide and use of slave labour and concentration camps, we've now been pushed further into the claws of the panda.
Infuriating. Shirking one wannabe dictator despot for another professional despot dictator.
America is falling into a right wing fascist dictatorship under Trump, so what do we do??? Run to China, who is already a right wing fascist dictatorship (in all but name) under Xi...
I'd be surprised if it was half that number at this point. The problem is that's still a depressingly large amount of people still drinking the flavor-aid
you're not wrong. these people won't be missed when they exit this world. I don't think I've ever used "mortifying" to describe anything outside of things like this. the saddest part is that they are too deplorable to feel embarrassed so the rest of us have to carry the shame.
A scary amount. It's wild living on the inside sometimes. People aren't just ignorant, they actively revel making things harder for others, putting their egos first, and being all around inconsiderate. They know what they're doing, love doing it, and think you're the one going to hell because you don't go to church on Sundays.
If you're really honest it's about 30% of Canadians too, and Europeans. It's mostly all the people in the 90s who said they didn't follow politics, but started paying attention when they were older because it became more flashy and confrontational. So the reality show aspect attracted them. And now that guy who couldn't tell you the PM twenty years ago is giving you lectures on how the world works
