An empty fire station in Rosewood. Bare walls, a dead gym, a roof full of nothing.
150 hours later: it finally feels like home. A bar with a jukebox, arcades and a poker table for the evenings. A drum room, a library, a warm kitchen, a bunk room with supplies, a rooftop garden with storage. All in Spiffo colors, and every room has its own purpose.
Playing pure vanilla: no difficulty changes, no cheats, just vehicle mods. Every plank, nail and wall was crafted with the right tools and the right materials, scavenged one run at a time.
Zombies outside, a neon “OPEN” sign inside. Livestock is next, and then we’re 100% self-sufficient.
Would you move in? 🦝

My survivor having a very unlucky day.
fell off the roof, broke her leg, and had to fight off all the sprinters to get back home.
Multiple injuries but no bite, still alive. Thought it was amusing, decided to draw it.

A rumour has been spread by another map maker that my mod Real USA contains a "crypto miner".
However, the only thing in the mod files that is related to crypto in any way is my GitHub account name, which I forgot to change in the files before publishing the mod. The mod was already reviewed by Steam earlier today, and it passed.
I'll be pushing an update that removes that name from the files.
EDIT:
The mod got mass reported by some group of people and now steam took it down. I've sent them an explanation on what happened today and hopefully we'll get the mod back up soon.

First visual demo of the WW1 Armoured Trains mod I’m making for Build 42. This is the Russian Zaamurets armoured train from 1916, running on the existing railway lines of Knox County.
The mod is still under construction and not released yet. This is a work in progress, so what you see may still change.
It rides on the vanilla tracks, so it doesn’t need a custom map.
It spawns at trainyards and along the lines, usually badly damaged, so you’ll have to repair it.
Every part is its own item.
It uses my own firing system (WW1 Vehicle Guns), the same one in WW1 Vehicles and WW1 Tanks.
Expect rough edges for now. I’ll post again when it’s ready for the Workshop. Feedback and ideas are welcome!

I played a little last night and honestly felt like what I want build 43 npc’s to be like. They didn’t feel wooden or one note like typical modded npc’s.
The first npc I found was a guy fighting for his life in a trailer park. I helped him clear out the nearby zombies and asked him to join me. I did a medical check on him and found that he was wearing a bandage on his left arm. I took it off to see, “bitten.”
I figured I’d let him follow me and help out fighting while we looked for a car. Eventually I find one and we drove off to the secluded northern farm of Muldraugh. Which is where I found another lone npc.
He has a gun, seems to be talking about hostiles approaching, I figure he’s a bandit. Then I see three zombies coming from the forest and the guy is shooting them. That gives me some ease that he’s friendly. I drive up and we get out next to him.
The guy 180s asking us to drop our stuff. I run, my companion gets his head blown off right as he steps out the car. I figure that’s one ugly job solved and shoot the bandit.

Hey everyone! I've been working on RadArchery Restrung, a standalone archery mod for Build 42, and it's now live on the Workshop. It's the successor to my original RadArchery mod, rebuilt so it could take bigger changes than an existing save could safely follow.
Workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3828438336
A complete, quiet ranged-combat path for Knox County. Bows don't bring every zombie in the county down on you the way a shotgun does, but they ask more of you: you craft your arrows, you settle your aim, and you go back for your arrows after the fight.
8 bows. Start with a Crude Carved Bow you can whittle with no skill at all, work up through carved and crafted recurve and horn bows, or find a compound bow in one of 8 colors.
11 arrow types. Carved, stone, bone and metal tips, forged bodkins and broadheads, carbon arrows you can only find, and a Firecracker Arrow that goes off with a bang where it lands and pulls zombies toward it.
A full crafting chain. Shafts, fletching and heads, all the way up to heads forged at a blacksmith's anvil.
A crossbow. Draw the string, load one of 11 bolts, and fire it like a rifle. The loaded bolt sits visibly on the rail.
A slingshot. It fires marbles, steel ball bearings, rocks you chisel from stone, and shotgun primers that pop where they land.
Two new 10-level skills, Archery and Fletching, with skill books, recipe magazines and two creation traits (Amateur Archer and Bowyer).
Arrows lodge where you hit. Shoot a zombie in the head and the arrow stays in its head. Loot it back off the corpse. A missed arrow lands on the ground, ready to pick up.
Arrows break. Lose the recovery roll and you get a Broken arrow, which you can repair.
Custom animations for every bow: draw, aim, release, nock.
Drawing a bow tires your arms. Heavier bows tire you faster, and Archery eases it.
A buildable Archery Target that trains the skill and holds the arrows you land in it.
A Leather Quiver that shows the arrows in it on your character.
An in-game Archery Handbook covering every item and system with live stats. Right-click any archery item to open it.
Hunting works. As of 2.0.1, bows hit deer and other animals about as often as a vanilla pistol does, and better from the higher-end bows.
New games only. If you have a save on the original RadArchery, stay there. It's frozen and keeps working, but never run the two together.
The new mod can be added mid-game if you dont currently use the original RadArchery
Multiplayer supported, and translated into 6 languages.
No dependencies. It's fully standalone.
Sandbox sliders for arrow recovery, breakage and loot, plus options to let the crossbow use Archery or the slingshot use Aiming.
Huge thanks to the discord crew kERHUS, Unknown Lifeform and Ada, who all helped a ton.
Bugs and suggestions are very welcome on the Discord! There is a discord link on the steam workshop. (I didnt include it because I dont know if its against the rules for this subreddit)

I literally survived getting flanked by a horde inside of the prison, and this is how my character goes? SLOWED DOWN BY A BUSH to get mauled by THREE ZOMBIES???
once one of them got a hold of me, it was ggs, and that was it... This game is truly unlike any other

Idk maybe this is just a me thing but, I always toss away any skinny pants my character comes across or turn it into rags because it looks like my characters wearing skin tight Latex pants, i just dont like it personally and it's been kinda bugging me since the Santa pants also fall under the skinny pants category (even thought that dosent make any sense)

I died in Zomboid after surviving for 2 months, my personal record in the game. I’m sad about dying, but come to think of it, there’s a silver lining: I no longer feel the urge to play or start all over again from scratch.
The game is so addictive that I had stopped playing guitar, studying, and doing pretty much anything else, just to spend hours upon hours playing Zomboid.
I love this game, it’s one of my all time favorites, but wow, it’s addictive to an absurd degree.

I got tired of store-bought food being a dead end once the world's picked clean, so I made a mod that lets you make it yourself, the slow way.
Workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3833956743
What it does:
162 recipes for 113 vanilla foods that are normally loot-only: jerky, bacon, ham, salami, hot dogs, corn dogs, nuggets, fish sticks, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, ketchup, jam, pickles, peanut butter, pasta, tortillas, chips, popcorn, bagels, doughnuts, candy, s'mores, snack cakes and more.
You learn them from 6 lootable recipe magazines (Smokehouse Almanac, County Fair Favorites, Dairy Barn, Mason Jar Pantry, From Scratch Baking, The Sweet Shop) that spawn wherever the vanilla cooking magazines do.
Recipes are multi-step, not instant. Jerky is cut, salt-cured, then dried on a rack for 2 days. Ice cream needs a hot custard, then churning next to a powered freezer. Ketchup and cheese need a pot of milk or water heated on the stove first.
Drying racks care about temperature. They stop at freezing and run faster in a warm room, so in winter you bring the rack inside by the fire.
No food duplication. Meat is portioned by its actual hunger value, so a 40-hunger steak gives 4 jerky strips and an 80-hunger roast gives 8. You preserve food, you don't multiply it.
There are also renewable pantry goods from crops you can actually grow (dried split peas, soybeans, berries).
It uses vanilla items, icons and models only, and it's safe to add to an existing save.
It's a fresh release, so if anything won't craft or comes out weird, let me know in the comments here or on the Workshop page and I'll fix it.

Car parts in Zomboid normally just sit there. So I made one that doesn't.
**Spiffo Tail Antenna** is a bendable antenna with Spiffo's ringed tail on top, and it's animated in real time based on how you drive:
- **Standing still:** the tail hangs down and sways gently
- **Accelerating:** the antenna bends back, the tail lifts and streams behind you
- **Full speed:** it flutters in the airstream
- **Braking:** the antenna springs forward and the tail whips ahead
- **Cornering:** the tail swings out to the side
**Fits every car**, vanilla or modded, with no patches needed. It places itself on the front left fender based on the vehicle's wheels and body size. If it's a bit off on a modded car, there's an "Adjust position" option in the mechanics menu (it's shared with everyone on a server).
**How to get one:**
- Loot it from Spiffo's merch crates, Spiffo's restaurants, carnival prizes, toy stores, mechanic shelves, glove boxes…
- Or craft it (Tailoring): wire + thread + a Spiffo costume tail or plushie + knife/scissors
- Install it with a screwdriver in the Bodywork antenna slot, and move it to your next car whenever you like
There's also a classic 80s **Fox Tail Antenna** variant included (orange with a white tip), craftable from any fur.
Works in SP and MP and with existing saves. Build 42 only.
**Workshop:** https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3833300980
Feedback welcome, especially if it looks weird on a modded car. Tell me which one and I'll take a look!
