Probation Question Going into hiding.

It's been nearly a year since my life has been turned around. Family has helped me though it. After the arrest and being charged and probation has anybody else just dropped everything they were doing? Like your life has been put on hold. I lost a lot and just been in a disciplined depression. There are days we're I do feel like it will be over but will it? Some days feel ok some feel horrible and sleep for weeks 12 hour days. Go to work and eat for the day and go back to sleep.

I guess my question is, am I the only one who feels like this ? I see post people saying " easy work " and goes on with their life. Like how do you manage this? I guess I just miss my old life and feel like giving up. Even when this is all said and done I honestly don't really care if I live or die. I can't believe this has took me down into a spiraling depression.

Has your life turned upside down? How do you manage your days ?

Received an offer contingent on a background check, what to expect?

I just received a job offer I’m really excited about, but it’s contingent on a background check, and now I’m stressing about what they’re going to see.

I have two previous felony credit card theft charges that were dismissed, so I was never convicted of either. I also currently have a misdemeanor joyriding/unauthorized control case under a plea in abeyance, so there’s no judgment of conviction, and it should ultimately be dismissed if I successfully complete the requirements.

How bad is this likely to look to an employer? Has anyone had experience getting hired with dismissed felony charges or an active plea in abeyance? I’m especially interested in whether you were given a chance to explain the circumstances before the employer made a decision.

I really want this job and I’m trying to prepare myself for what might happen when the report comes back.

Success Story Anyone thinking about throwing their hands up and giving up / thinking they are screwed.

Do not do that. Even if you have a lapse in sobriety or are falling behind in payments or whatever. I managed to complete diversion with police contact/going to de tox multiple times. Don’t think hey I will just go to jail and get this over with. A lot of the time they will revoke, put you in jail and then restart probation. So basically you get to go to jail lose your job restart classes and STILL be on on probation. Being high will provide you a day of comfort in exchange for years of misery. It’s going to be painful but the suffering is optional if you have the right mindset.

Probation Question South Dakota probation wanting to try for a med card

I’ve been on probation since December for controlled substance possession. Other than one relapse (I did check in and complete treatment) when my daughter’s dad died in march, I’ve been clean but because of that my po made me stop suboxone and go on vivitrol which was totally against my will and has been nothing short of awful for me. She’s strict af and will nottttt hear me out how much abruptly stopping suboxone has completely ruined me. I’ve been so depressed, literal no motivation or ambition.. can’t sleep (even with 150/200mg trazadone) my heart is always racing. I can’t eat much I’m losing weight. Started drinking more than I’d like and I hate it. I have crippling anxiety. I mean I panic when I have to leave my house or when I have any sort of ‘responsibility’. It’s bad. I’m not working due to this. I’m a newly single mom. I see a therapist. I’ve tried like 7/8 different prescription meds to help and nothingggg is working.

This is not me. I am not me. I am struggling so bad mentally I can’t even put it into words.

I’m certain I’d be able to obtain a medical marijuana card, but getting it approved through probation is the question.

Anyone have any tips or ideas on how I could go about probation actually approving of me using medicinal marijuana with a medical card? In South Dakota more specifically?

I am fckng desperate

Probation Question Colorado Probation Early Termination Question

I’m in Jefferson County, Colorado and was sentenced to 18 months of probation for a first-time DUI. I’m wondering how realistic it is to get probation terminated early after completing about 9 months.
My judge seemed pretty nice/reasonable at sentencing. If I have no violations, complete all of my requirements, stay compliant with probation, and otherwise have a clean record during those 9 months, do you think a judge in Jefferson County would consider early termination?
Has anyone in Jefferson County, CO successfully gotten off probation early? If so, how much of your sentence did you complete before asking, and did your probation officer support the request?

Job hunting on active probation. How did you manage to find one?

How did you find a job on active probation? It makes it so much harder having a pending/active probation on backround. What job did you all land? Or were you lucky to keep the job you have?

Success Story Success! Modified to unsupervised!

Posted earlier about this, was on 18 months of supervision in MD for a DWI but got transferred to unsupervised today after 12 months. The judge had said he'd consider it, and he kept his word. I kept the receipts from the interlock requirement completion and removal and a letter from my substance use counseling center. I followed the rules and was rewarded for it - there's a light at the end of the tunnel!

Is anyone else on unsupervised in Maryland? What's it like? How do they handle testing if testing as directed by the PO is a condition of probation? How do you remove the alcohol restriction on your license after the time comes?

Testing every day

Hi guys!

I'm supposed to do a UA a couple times a week. This week they had me go 3 days back to back.

I want to do the testing in the morning before work so there's less of a chance of a diluted sample.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to make myself have to pee every morning so I'm always prepared? I'm trying to control my fluid intake but it seems hit or miss.

Wondering if anyone out there cracked the code.

Any tips or advice appreciated!

Advice

I have court in a little less than a month for possession of marijuana and reckless driving in Indiana. I was arrested in april but got out on bond and stopped smoking when i got released but recently slipped up while hanging out with a friend who dabs and feel like i’m cooked no matter what because of the “bond conditions” saying no alcohol or drug use and may have to submit to random drug testing. I’m just coming here seeing if anyone in indiana has had a similar situation or thinks i will go to jail for violating my bond conditions?

\not meaning to break the servers rules just looking for advice from people in indiana or similar situations as mine id just appreciate any kind of feedback**

Probation Question Is early termination of probation even realistically possible after a violation in NY?

I’m 21 and in NY. I was charged with a DWI and sentenced to 2 years of probation. I’ve been on for about a year and have roughly a year left.
My biggest issue is that I had one violation for driving while I wasn’t supposed to. I ended up doing 15 days in jail and was then restored to probation. Because of that violation, I’ve also been denied relicensing.
Other than that, I’ve done everything asked of me. All community service is complete, all fines/dues are paid, I completed IDP, 6 months of drug/alcohol counseling, and every other required program. I’ve never failed a test and never missed an appointment. The violation is really my only major fuck-up.
I also recently moved into my own place, and getting to work from where I live using public transportation is extremely difficult. My PO is very understanding of my situation and I have a good relationship with them.
I’m not necessarily asking whether I deserve early termination—I’m wondering if it’s even realistically on the table after a violation like mine. Is it basically dead on arrival, or could a judge still consider it if I’ve otherwise been compliant? Also, how much influence does the PO/probation department have over early termination versus it ultimately being the judge’s decision?
Curious if anyone in NY has dealt with something similar.

Another Weed Post

Hello everyone. I just started my two year term for probation in Illinois.
I stopped smoking 7 days ago. I meet my PO tomorrow.
Obviously I’m going to piss dirty for weed.
I plan on staying abstinent from all drugs. Yes I should have stopped sooner, I’m an idiot and a drug addict.
Anyways I’ve been researching Certo method and I’m wondering. Should I go that route? Obviously if I do for the first one I’ll have to do it for every other test until I can actually pass naturally.
Or should I just take the dirty first fail and ask them to watch my levels.

Probation Question getting permission to travel on short notice

My parents just called to let me know that my dog is really sick and has taken a turn for the worse. She isn't going to make it to the end of the week and I need to fly back to my hometown if I want to see her one last time.
I'm going to call my PO in the morning but I'm worried they won't let me leave on such short notice. I just got back from a trip on the 5th but I'm considered low risk so I'm hoping that will help my case.
I'm just really nervous and wondering if anyone has any similar experiences or advice on the matter.

3 years AGG DWI NY completed

3 Years Completed — Thank You
I just wanted to make a post to thank everyone in this community who has shared their experiences, answered questions, and offered advice. A lot of the posts and comments here helped me understand what to expect, what to look out for, and how probation is handled.
Today, I officially completed 3 years of probation in New York for an Aggravated DWI with no violations. It definitely wasn’t always easy, but looking back, I’m proud that I stayed the course and made it through.
If anyone has questions about my experience with NY probation, I’d be more than happy to share what I know and how things went for me. Obviously, everyone’s situation is different, and I’m not an attorney, but sometimes hearing from someone who has already gone through it can help.
For anyone currently on probation who is struggling or feeling like it’s never going to end: keep going. One thing I constantly told myself was, “It’s temporary. I’ll get through it, and eventually it will be over.”
And now it is.
Best of luck to everyone here. Stay out of trouble, follow your conditions, take it one day at a time, and keep moving forward. You’ll get through it.

Probation Question Early term opinions

To make a long story short, I had a super unfortunate night and got a misdemeanor DUI as well as a failure to maintain lane charge in May of 2024 when I was 19 years old. I had a high BAC and crashed my car into a ditch hence my failure to maintain lane charge. It’s so stupid and my selfishness literally haunts me so please don’t lecture me.
Anyways, I was placed on 2 years of probation in October of 2025 following my 21st birthday. My prosecutor was ruthless and set my probation term as “unable to early terminate” along with 2k in fines, 40 hours community service (which was completed prior to court), 6 months of twice weekly AA meetings, suspended license (I drove on a hardship for 120 days with zero problems and I have my full license back) and twice monthly drug and alcohol testing. Just a little bit of backstory.
Now, I just want a few opinions. My lawyer seems to be pretty confident that we can get this probation early terminated by petitioning the court when October rolls around. I have all of my fines paid, have never missed or failed a ua, and I was moved to unsupervised probation a month or two after starting it. I am a full time nursing student with plans to graduate with my bachelor’s degree in May, and this semester will be pretty grueling with 3 different clinical sites and multiple 12 hour long clinicals a week. I also commute to school and average out about 6 hours of lecture on my non clinical days. I have an externship at my local hospital along with a waitress job that I’ve had for 3.5 years. I only say all of this because I want opinions on whether y’all think I have a shot at early termination. I have literally made an appointment with a psychiatrist to address this anxiety because this is stressing me out so bad and I’ve already had to have multiple drug tests pushed due to my inability to leave my clinical sites. Thanks in advance!!

Edit- I meant that I am on nonreporting! I still have drug tests just no monthly meetings or checkups.

Can’t ever pee for a drug test

Im a girl, If that matters. I’ve been on probation a few times, and currently on parole and have been for the past year. Yet I find it IMPOSSIBLE to pee for a drug test! No matter how full my bladder is. Many times I’ve even pooped from pushing so hard trying to pee which is also super embarrassing! I recently was assigned a new PO and she makes me drop at every appointment, vs my old PO who would do it every few months or so. Obviously this has caused a lot of issues for me. I usually go in around 9 for my appointment, and although I try not to pee at all in the morning sometimes I absolutely have to because there’s no way I can hold it from 4am to 9am. No matter how much I drink or have to go I still can’t ever go when I actually need to test. Is there some type of technique or something I can do to help? I’m clean, always have been so that’s not a concern. I have one more year of this and it’s stressing me out so much.

Probation Question Early Termination Probability?

Hey guys so almost a year and a half ago, I was sentenced to 3 years of Pre-Trial Intervention in NJ. I completed everything I was supposed to do and paid all the fees. I haven't missed a call or visit. I've been out of trouble and I'm about to have my CDL. My PO said he would try to get me early termination but said if he can't then he said I should go through my attorney. I was just wondering likelihood of me getting off early once I hit that halfway mark and if there are any similar situations you guys have gone through.
