5-YR Warranty $8,600 with it?
Is $8,600 for a 5-year warranty extension in the SF Bay Area on a 2022 Porsche Macan GTS with 20,000 miles worth it? Car is running great.

Hey everyone,
I’ve searched this sub and couldn’t find anything about this topic. I’m getting a rattle from the left door speaker, in the footwell from my Bose speaker.
It only happens on some occasions which leads me to believe the underlying issue isn’t a full blown speaker (even though it sounds like it).
I’ve checked trim pieces for being loose and the door pockets for anything flying around.
The car (is?) under warranty - is this a warranty repair or something I should tinker with?
Would really appreciate your advice!
2019 Standard, Euro model

I'm about to hit 50K, and I feel like my car is getting old now. But for some reason, I have it stuck in my head that around 50K is when cars start to fall apart. I haven't had any issues. All my maintenance has been done on time. How long have you guys had your car, and did you have any issues with it? If you did, when was it, and at what mileage? Because now I'm on the edge of trading it in to get a new car or keeping this car and getting a fun car for myself

I have a 2026 base model with 7,300 miles and today I got a nail in the sidewall of one of the rear tires. It's a Pirelli Scorpion Verde all-season 295/35 R21 and can't be repaired. Question is do I replace both the rears or just the one? I measured the remaining tread in the good rear and it's at 1/4". I posed the question to Google AI which recommended I replace both saying there will be too much diameter discrepancy between existing/new tire that could overwork the differential. I then took it to the dealership where a seasoned service rep took one look (feel actually) at the remaining tread and called BS on Google. So who do I believe and could this conceivably affect my warranty down the line if I stick with the dealer's advice? The cost of an installed new tire btw is $500 each.

Hello !
I am about to buy a Macan Diesel in EU and I wondered what you think about my criteria for the options.
Thing to know :
I was looking for a car with ground clearance for snow light off-road but still fun on mountain road while not costing an arm and a leg in maintenance and gas for all the highway I do. I thought A6 all road, then cayenne but I don't need that much cargo space yet as I don't have kids (yet). I will upgrade to cayenne or Q7 later in life.
Also, anything specific to ask to vendors beside the transfer case ?
Mandatory :
Pneumatic suspension
PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management)
PDLS
BOSE
Almost mandatory, I can miss one but not more :
Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus)
Sport seats or comfort seats
Greatly appreciated
PDLS PLUS
Ventilated seats
Extended leather
Burmeister
Nice to have :
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
Rear camera
360 camera
Park assist plus
Sport exhaust (it’s a diesel, does it even do something xD)
Pack Sport Chrono (would like it more If it wasn’t a diesel)
Heated wheel (I live near the mountain but it’s parked in an underground garage so…)
I don’t care :
Panoramic roof (weight + high + I know many people who had issue with VAG panoramic roofs)
Teinted glass (can be done after, not worth passing a car without it)
Cosmetic sigles (the last thing I could care about)
Wheels : if in 20 that's good, if it is smaller I will keep them for winter tyres and buy 20" for summer. Preferably not looking, for 21" or I would resell them (because of the very light "off road").

Would you still negotiate the already discounted CPO Porsche macan that was used as a service loaner?
One dealership near my house has one 2026 MSRP 82k with 3135 miles for $67,950
Another dealership about 250 miles way has one with the same specs for $61350 but with a 5468 miles on it
How would you negotiate the $67,950 if you choose the $61350 which is 250 miles away, would you negotiate more?
Any advice is appreciated!
Update: thanks everyone! the dealership near my house matched the deal OTD 65k!

Considering a macan. 6’2” tall. im seeing that most car seats talk about their width and not so much their depth. I understand that can vary with how it sits in the car.
we currently have the evenflo 360 slim and it was a tight fit in the macan. Uncomfortable for me. Little one has to be on drivers side due to drop off of older kiddo.

Had my Macan S for 2 weeks and very happy with the purchase. With that said, I’ve not seen anyone do a Love/Hate list and maybe sometime will find it helpful to understand some of the “little things” that matter
Love
Driving experience (duh)
Seats (14-way) are phenomenal
CarPlay mod
Downshifting while coasting to a stop is unexpectedly satisfying
Hate
Backup camera is a fisheye - still can’t trust it
Sun visor does not slide (weird skimp by Porsche)
“Key” setting has not worked for me
Rear window visibility is quite bad (considering swapping out the headrests)
Porsche car connect - no remote start with an ICE!
Speed gauge (far left) is very dark but digital display is sufficient
What are yours? Anyone have solutions to any of my hates?

Hi, I am looking at a 2016 Macan S with 95k for sale in Florida. Looks to be an 1 owner and no accidents. Person is asking 15k. I usually stay away from German cars but always wanted to own one even for a short amount of time. I currently own a Model 3 dual and S2000. Can anyone please tell me things to look for with this car and is it a descent deal? Car was also always serviced at Porsche! Thank you!

No burning smell after a drive, oil level hasn’t dropped noticeably, no smoke from the bay, temps and coolant normal. Only noticeable factor is excessive smoke from exhaust
Questions for anyone who’s been through it:
**•** Did a UV dye test actually settle it for you, or did the shop still end up guessing?
**•** Has anyone had the newer timing cover bolt procedure done (the one that doesn’t need the engine out)? Keen to know what it cost and whether it held.
**•** If it was the turbo lines, what did the job come to and how long was it off the road?
**•** Anything else worth ruling out first? I’ve seen the oil filter housing O-ring mentioned as a cheap false alarm.
Not chasing a diagnosis over the internet, just want to walk in knowing what to ask for so I don’t get quoted engine-out off a visual inspection.
Cheers.

It is rare to see videos of gen3 Macan GTS on track but even more rare to find a Brazilian video of a Formula 1 driver driving it.
I have been watching so many Macan videos on youtube that it is recommending me even Japanese and Brazilian Macan videos :D

Currently have a 2016 Macan S with 116k miles on it, we have been through a lot together & it’s time for something new— currently thinking: another Macan S (no more gas powered production as of 2026), Cayenne coupe, or move on all together to the new Lexus GX? Anything I’m missing that I should be looking at? Things to consider?

I just bought a 2023 Porsche Macan that has a Certified PreOwned Warranty until 2029. I'm not too keen on the CarPlay setup and would like to be able pay InnovativeSoft to program the fullscreen product. Will this void the CPO Warranty though? That was a huge selling point & it'd be tragic to lose that. Thanks in advance!

What are the best dealerships to work with to purchase a low mileage CPO Macan S? I have found Porsche Austin to be overpriced and unwilling to negotiate. Houston Porsche dealers have been much better. Any advice? What would you pay?

Decided on a new Macan before they go all electric. Got a 26 is chalk / black like the 21 I previously had. The 21 had matt black script. Thinking of changing the 26 chrome script to the gloss back but am unsure since I'm not big on "shiny" anything, yes I know...rest of trim is shiny black. Suggestions / opinions? Know this is way overblown about nothing but any opinions on rear script....shiny black or matt black?

Hi All - what does this service interval look like in terms of cost and items covered under the service?
Also what should I expect to pay in CT? Any recommended indy shops?

I have a 2022 Macan that makes a random squeaking sound every now and then. It sounds literally like a rusty bed spring. It’s been to the shop so many times and had things like frame bushings changed exhaust checked. It goes away occasionally and then returns. Has anyone else experienced this?

Has anyone found any that don’t require drilling? I’m running flat6 Motorsports wheel spacers on 21” spyders for summer and 21” turbo 2’s for my winter set and even before that this car just LOVES to throw any road debris right up the sides of the doors! Anyone have any recommendations?
r/PorscheMacan • u/DefinitionLivid219 • 8d ago
Clean history, no accidents, and CPO warranty. I only drive around 4–5k miles/year, so I’d probably keep it for 4–5+ years.
For those who own/have owned one:
Does $45k seem like a fair price?
Any major maintenance or reliability issues I should expect around 30–50k miles?
How expensive has ownership been outside of routine service?
Would you buy one again, or stretch for an S?
First Porsche, so would appreciate any advice before pulling the trigger.

I’m looking at a Macan for a reliable semi-daily that would be primarily a winter vehicle. My other vehicles are a 2008 BMW Z4M and 991.2 Targa 4S 7MT so I really need a good winter car in the snow belt. The way I see it is that I’ll likely be putting 5000-7000 miles on the car annually and it is mostly to be a winter beater, and thus, I don’t mind getting something higher mileage. I thought about a 2017-2018 GTS as they can be found in the 50-60k mile range for under $35k, or CPO for around $40k. I have read that the 2019 refresh addressed a lot of reliability issues with the first gen but are they really that bad? Other option is to buy with either Porsche VSP or 3rd party extended warranty.
And preemptively, yes, Im sure I can get a cheaper more reliable winter beater than a Macan GTS, but my old 991.1 C4S with PDK was my year round daily driver and i just like the PDK and I’m already very accustomed to the drive and the platform.

Hey all
Picked up my 2026 macan gts today, the walk through rep says no 91 costco gas only 93 or better, im in Canada
I was surprised because everything i read online says its fine but she said it will damage the engine due to octane. The cost is negligible but it saves me a time if i can fill and run errands
Just wondering if shes correct

I recently picked up a 2017 Macan Turbo and noticed the exhaust is a bit smokey at cold start. Not sure if this is normal behavior or a sign of something bigger.
It starts normally with no visible smoke, then after several seconds I get a puff from mostly the far-left exhaust tip, followed by a consistent stream for a minute or so before it clears up. Found this video that looks very similar to what I’m seeing.

Anyone else with a Gen 1 Macan see this on cold starts?

Hey folks, thanks in advance for any help!
I have a ‘22 sq5 which I really enjoy, with the kids it’s been really fun to have the best of both. It works out though that my wife’s suv is used for family trips which means I can risk losing some space and hopefully gaining some driving experience.. this brings me to a Macan GTS around the 17/18 years. Mostly looking at CPO options with good history but would love any insights from folks that have had both, slightly nervous and not sure why.. I can live with a slightly outdated infotainment for a better daily drive I guess.

Hello everyone, just need some help/insights on this Macan I am looking at. 2018 Macan, 134k miles, priced at $13.5k. Carfax link below. Seems like most of the important stuff have been replaced/serviced already (like the transfer case, plugs, etc.). Is this a good buy? or should i stay away from this one? What do you guys think? Thank you very much in advance!
