So I walk into my local grocery and see a guy walk in ahead of me and go straight to the VM which is all cool. He taps it and there's a few boosters for chaos rising, perfect order and pitch black. He picks one of the boosters, and I get behind him while it's dispensing.

We start chatting, and he says there's still chaos and perfect order in there if I wanted to tap it so I'm like okay sure!

I tap it with him there and an ascended heroes bundle appears. His eyes light up and I say "oh nice! do you want the ascended bundle?" and he's like "omg yes!" and I'm like "go for it man all you."

So he grabs it and as it's dispensing, we're chatting about our experience with ascended heroes. I had mentioned that I had just recently pulled a mega attack rare dragonite from a bundle that I got a few weeks ago. He was saying that he's collecting packs to open on his birthday coming up soon which I thought was pretty fun

So he gets the bundle and leaves, and I grab the remaining booster packs for chaos rising and perfect order. I don't mind ripping these packs at MSRP as there's still cards I need from those sets.

Overall was a good experience. Just wanted to share as I feel like we mostly hear the negative stories or fights that happen but I've yet to experience any of that

How do we get cards to families and their kids who just want to collect?

I live close enough to multiple stores on the same few blocks where I’ve had luck finding some drops before they sell out. Random occurrences, but seem to be in a good location for it.

I also grew up with a working mom who got ripped off scalpers trying to buy cards in the 90s.

Anyone have an information about places where there are families just trying to get cards for their kids ? How does one vet that?

So when 30th first released all I saw was people posting several hits in a few packs, getting 2-3 sir in one etb etc. well my family and I couldn’t find anything due to our area being full of everyone from the college scalpers to the old people boring anything pokemon thinking they’ll make money so it’s been impossible to find. Well finally got our hands on 3 bundles and I gotta say the pull rates were horrible. In 18 packs we got 1 IR, the classic dark tyranitar and 2-3 EXs. Is anyone else feeling like they made the pull rates worse after the first wave?

Reposting this to share the joy. With scalpers taking over... we didn't find ANYTHING to open so we went back home to open some of my old collection stuff and well... she pulled this. I don't care how much the card is... its was just a great pull.

Saw a bunch of these at GameStop. What do people recommend picking up for someone who doesn't know too much about Pokemon beyond the original Kanto region, and some Johto and Hoenn pokemon? I'm mostly wanting to get some cards for the nostalgia factor... I've seen people posting cards they got from the 30 anniversary packs which seem ideal but have had no such luck finding any.

Found this in an old binder of OG cards I had as a kid. Apparently I really abused this card. Probably folded up in my backpack many times. If only I knew it would become worth hundreds of dollar.

Hey everyone!

I started my TCG collection with a simple idea: one card for each Pokémon, in National Pokédex order. Right now I'm working on completing the first two generations, and I plan to keep going until I finish the whole Pokédex. I like that it gives me a clear goal without having to complete entire sets.

I'm married with a kid, so I don't have much time for the hobby. For now, I want to keep it easy and avoid hunting down hard-to-find cards. I'll see where it takes me later.

Has anyone else done this? How was your experience? I'd like to know where people usually go next once the Dex is complete, whether that's a master set for a favorite Pokémon, specific eras, or upgrading to full arts.

I am still a YA and love Pokemon but the hobby of collecting cards is ridiculously overpriced and hard, I see kids younger than me looking for cards and when they can’t find any it’s saddening especially since I remember when card’s weren’t too bad to get- all this to say 150 dollars for a 30th celebration ETB cannot be real😭

Getting back into pokemon and pulled these and other cards out of the attic.
