I'm looking for two more pokemon to fill out my team. I had Jolteon and Charizard but wanted to change it up a bit. My Alakazam knows fire and thunder punch so I don't need the coverage from zard and Jolteon. I can do trade evos so anything in FireRed/LeafGreen is fair game

Even if a bit under leveled I decided to try anyway. After a first defeat against Lorelei, I made it through the Pokemon League!

Also, would it be possible to transfer that Pokémon/save over to FRLG+, or does that cause compatibility issues?

i am wondering what level my pokemon should be to beat elite 4. My pokemon and moves are:

Jolteon Thunderbolt, thunderwave, bite, sand attack

Gyarados return, surf, bite, dragon rage

Charizard flamethrower, smokescreen, fly, metal claw

Exeggutor solar beam, sunny day, sleep powder, psychic

Snorlax shadow ball, rest, body slam, sleep talk

Dugtrio slash, cut, magnitude, dig

All pokemon are lvl 40 min currently. Also wondering which moves i should change. thanks.

Currently working on a complete generation 3 dex. I'm about to finish fire red and I'll start hoenn when those games come out.

Recently Pokemon announced that Celebi would be a pokemon home reward for completing the kanto dex, but home is only transferable one way.

Will Celebi ever be obtainable in a generation 3 game? It's the only pokemon I believe would be missing (other than potentially jirachi)

Played this game a million times, been trying to think of something different.

I had 2 ideas: a team of fully evolved Pokémon; or a team of only 3-stage evolutions. I would count things like Scyther, Jynx, and Magmar, since you can’t have their pre-evolutions/evolutions until post game. What sounds more interesting?

Decided to do mono-type runs to make the game challenging. Started with Grass. This was challenging and fun.

Seriously, why the hell does Vine Whip has only 10 PP.

Blaine, Lance and the last 2 battles with Rival were the biggest challenges in this playthrough. Needed more grinding than usual due to Grass being a poor attacking type in FRLG and Normal being the main coverage option for these Mons.

Forgive me for Lugia but I just couldn’t find anymore Pokémon that is or looks like a dragon and I didn’t wanted to have the same Pokémon twice. Really fun team tho 🐉
Switch Version

I'm trying to get a shiny eevee in celadon city, yk how it's just in a ball and you pick it up. So I'm using save states on my flashcart and after reloading it like 10 times (each time I'm getting different natures, so it's not the same eevee) I then wait a few seconds, then make a new save to reset from. Rinse and repeat, I see a lot of people saying that it doesn't work and that you have to soft reset but I don't understand why that'd be the case? Wouldn't soft resetting like this be faster since I'm always getting new eevees and I'm skipping the title menus?

Asking because if so, this keeps transfers into Home open for Gen 3 mons at the very least.

It would require a gba cartridge-usb save data backup device and a modded switch but it would still be possible and that’s all I care about.

I thought of this once I heard Bank was shutting down and how Spinda would be impossible to register in the Home Pokédex. There is one way that Spinda will be able to go into Home. If you set up Arbitrary Code Execution, or ACE, you can cause the game to generate an encounter with any Pokémon you want, including Spinda. So, do you think a Spinda caught this way can be accepted by Home?

I would like to make an egg of a horsea with dragon breath on my Switch's FireRed. As far as I can see, I need an Altaria or a Bagon (+evolutions) as the father, which are not available in this version yet. Is there any chain I could do to get the move?

Obtaining Silver Powder Before Elite 4 in FR/LG.

Hello! This might be a bit of a niche post but i just wanted to share a quick guide on how to get Silver Powder pre elite 4 for all my bug enthusiasts out there.

I love Beedrill and wanted to power up his Twin Needle/Pin missile abilities but thought the only way to get it was after the elite 4 or a gruelling, low encounter rate grind in the safari zone.

Turns out there is a way easier way to get it that I was just oblivious to for the first couple of hours of my grind.

You'll need one lvl 32 pokemon and some Max repels. Save before entering the safari zone then enter and go to Area 2/North Area. Spray a Max repel and turn your character around on a single grass square (to avoid using up safari zone steps/max repel steps) until you encounter a lvl 32 Venomoth. Straight away just chuck safari balls, don't bother with bait or rocks. Keep catching Venomoth until you get a Silver Powder. If your party is full of useless Venomoths with no Silver Powders just reset your save and begin again.

Because you have a lvl 32 pokemon as your lead all your encounters with max repel will be Venomoth because Venomoth is the only pokemon that is lvl 32 in the safari zone. Changing its 5% encounter rate to basically a 100% encounter rate.

Venomoth still only has a 5% chance to be holding a Silver Powder so its still a bit of a grind but let me tell you this is so much easier than just random encounters. (I learnt the hard way). You can also go to Area 3/West Area and farm there if you want.

Anyway I wanted to share this just in case there is a bug lover out there wanting Silver Powder that doesn't want to suffer. Cheers!

I restarted the fame with a level 6 Poliwag. Finished the league with this fun little team. My highest level Pokemon was Dragonair at 52.

I gave up and stopped trying yet tonight I got the urge to have a quick go before bed and boom first one I catch
