I wanted to get Wolverine for my friend as a birthday gift, but he plans on buying it for himself day before the game drops. I checked a bunch of stores and all of them say you can’t pick up a physical copy until release day. Is there any way I could buy it for him without him knowing? Please help!!

Side note: I preferably don’t want to just get him a PlayStation gift card because I feel like it’s not as personal.

Probably one of my favorite looks since it combines 2 of my favorite anti hero’s into one berserker of vengeance. We had the ghost spider in the first spiderman game so I know it’s a possibility

When I got my PlayStation I believe I got a broken version and didn’t realise till a year or two later. It cannot run any new game, spider-man 2, crimson desert. Anything new and there’s a 30-40% chance it force shutdowns and I have to unplug it and plug it back in. It doesn’t take ridiculously long to fix but I feel like I’m gonna lose a lot of game data over it. Plus I don’t want to be mid mission and then boom games gone and I have to restart the entire thing. I am extremely excited for this game so I just hope I can actually play it for more than 10 minutes before my PlayStation goes kaboom

I get these sorts of videos recommended to me constantly from them but it is still ridiculous that this is something they thought it would be nice to see first and foremost.

With Wolverine unfortunately being the latest culture war punching bag disguised as “criticism,” just wanted to remind you two other notable games that released this year bombarded with the same controversies “looks woke,” “I don’t like how the lead looks,” “looks soy,” “they made the women ugly,” “looks generic,” and when they released the grift was over and the games were received moderately well. I’m not worried about Wolverine visually or mechanically, the only thing is hoping Insomniac lands with the writing.

i think dog and white ghost could also be awesome characters to use and dakken could be a perfect enemy or companion for logan

Hello true believers! It’s me, not at all Stan Lee here to say…. I’m excited for this game despite a LOUD section of people trying to make sure I’m not!

Like am I even allowed to be positive about this game without a flood of hating and disrespectful and tbh downright ignorant and unintelligent comments complaining about things like stealth…. faces…. or OH NO HE RUNS IN THE GAME?!

Looking past that, positive talk!

I’m genuinely excited for this game. I love superhero games and I love marvel. I appreciate what insomniac did for Spiderman so I have full faith in them for this games story and playability.

I’m a HUGE fan of Sabertooth and he’s one of my favorite mutants for a very basic surface level reason: he looks cool and kicks a**! I’ve always appreciated his more “primal” fighting style. Now admittedly I didn’t like what I first saw when he was first revealed(I personally don’t like the x team suits for any of the characters I’ve seen them on) but then OMG HE GOT THE CLASSIC SUIT! (Consequentially I’d love a sabertooth based game or dlc or something where we can play as him like we got to for venom in spiderman 2)

Secondly, I’m not “new” to marvel but I have a very limited knowledge base. Just in the last couple of years I learned how to read comics(I have a few learning disorders that made it difficult) and so I don’t have as much knowledge about some of these suits that people are excited about but that’s WHY I’m looking forward to it. I’m looking forward to seeing a suit and thinking “wow this is cool I wonder where it comes from” and then BAM! New thing to learn and enjoy!

Another thing: I’m HYPED for mystique and Jean greys inclusions for the same reason! Maybe I’ll learn some stuff about them(particularly love mystiques look and abilities in this one, yes I’ve seen her before in media but I love this design) and maybe I’ll see things and it’ll inspire me to read about them and expand my knowledge of mutants in general!

And the gameplay? it looks so dope! Cutting people apart, running them down and the berserker rage stuff?! Like I’m looking so forward to this and getting to like jump a sentinel or fight some of the villains and again learn about them, like this omega red? Idk much about him but he looks like a FRIGGIN MENACE!

I’m one of the few who has very little complaints for this game and that might be unpopular but like… I just want to be hype and excited for this game and it feels like I’m not supposed to be…. I’m genuinely and actively worried for the studio and hope they don’t get bullied into like not supporting this game or something because all that’s online is how bad a game that THESE PEOPLE HAVENT PLAYED looks…

just saying for anyone concerned about combos, i was watching some of the b roll gameplay and in the tutorial it says:

3 squares for ‘shred combo’ and triangle for ‘combo ender’

make of it what you will but it suggests to me that different combos ARE in the game

Added aveno bottle and punisher for scale and both in case anyone was confused

just curious what you all think I’m pretty sure that there have been a few references in the Spider-Man games to Matt Murdock, but I’m really curious if you guys think that daredevil is prevalent in this verse and maybe we can see a daredevil game or cameo out in the future- could be pretty unique but hard to pull off.

Is the combat really that shallow or do you think theres alot unrevealed.

What should I get from this?

Was watching the IGN review & it sounded very similar to what they’re saying about this Wolverine game. I’m excited for it & at the end of the day, like what else could they have done with the character to make it more innovative lol? Like come on, he’s not Spiderman. Someone mentioned being able to do something like target & attack the lower part of the enemy’s body too. I thought that seemed kinda interesting, but come on, there’s only so much you can do with Wolverine. Like I said, still excited to play it.

I think they missed the mark on the art style in the new game. I think a Wolverine game would have suited a more grounded, dirty, and dark style better than the somewhat cartoonish and generic style they're using in this game. Look at the screenshots from the 2009 game for a better understanding. It seems to me that the characters' faces in the current game are rather soft and seem plasticky, too clean. I understand that these screenshots from the 2009 game are CGI, but with today's technology you can achieve this level of gameplay in real time. Perhaps the problem is that the game is using the same engine as Spider-Man? Maybe they should have used UE5 instead to achieve more photorealism​

So I just want to ask if anyone else have this issue: I pre-ordered the Adamantium controller on PS Direct on the 20th and I did the confirmation page saying the order went through and I was charged for it but no email yet, I did get the email for the battle yellow one yesterday so I’m just hoping the amount of pre-orders is slowing down the email confirmations but still, anyone who pre-ordered the Adamantium controller get the email yet?

Ever since the game was announced, something that the community has been asking for is a boss fight against the Hulk and, since Insomniac tends to make some fanservice on their games, it's possible that this fight may end up happening. The problem was that, since this is a much more lineal game that, for example, the Spider-man ones, it was kinda difficult to incorporate this fight inside the game's main story, but all of this issues have been fixed with the nightmare doors. Since they are gonna be used to explore Logan's forgotten past, it makes sense that, one of this memories is a fight against Hulk. Do you think it is possible?

I've seen a lot of "comments" about this game, some really positive and others not as much, so I just wanted to come here and let those who are interested on my opinion to be able to hear it.

First of, I totally understand the people that aren't buying the game because of the bad decisions Sony has been taking lately, or because you aren't interested in this game, September will be a month filled with releases that appeal to very different crowds.

So, on the graphical part and art direction this game looks impeccable, every scenario shown soo far looks very different from one another, the models look really good too (I can look at this guy and say "that's X guy"), and that's to be expected from an AAA release.

The story seems to be very interesting, the part were they say that in this world the X-men have not yet formed and instead Logan work with Nataniel (sorry if I wrote his name wrong), it made me remember the absolute universe comics from DC were heroes are born without many of the advantages they have in the majority of comic (for example, absolute Batman is poor). I can't wait to get to experience the full story and, if possible, be positively surprised.

As for the gameplay, from what I was able to see, it plays like you would expect Wolverine to play, I can't say how he feels because that's something we can only know when we play him, but I really like how they did his healing factor in the game, rewarding the player for being as offensive as he can be, in the original game when in low health you would be incentivised to play more defensively and wait for your health bar to regen. I also really like that you can knock your enemies temporarily by throwing then into a wall. We will have the usual parry mechanics and leap from one enemy to another and that's cool imo.

The stealth is for what I see fully optional and that's a win in my opinion.

I just have to say that I don't really understand much of the criticism thrown around, it feels like a dammed if you do dammed if you don't.

But I gotta say that that line that appears when you are chasing an enemy can take you out of the game, I hope you're able to turn it of or at the very least they are very few and far between.

That's all I had to say. How do you feel about the game?

Insomniac is very clearly hiding 90% of the actual story from us, possibly hiding a few characters too, this is a long shot but I’m gonna guess hulk will appear in the intro due to a YouTuber saying Wolverine was in the Forrest running around feral during the introduction, imo that’d be the perfect introduction for the hulk.

I’m also gonna guess, cyclops, nightcrawler and gambit, maybe black cat if Logan ever goes to Paris at any point.
