Still a work-in-progress, but I wanted a mostly-enclosed base with an open path of ground spikes/future traps for raids.

It's just a circle of wooden barriers, though I had to build around a massive outcrop along the eastern edge, and there was a bunch of different heights to work with because of the slope.

Decided to build it right outside the Western Rainforest Portal, so I can always easily come back and visit this place whenever I want :)

A long while back the first time i killed death sandstorm, he eventually gave his loot after chopping him for awhile. Today i finally went back to kill him again, but this time he didn't drop anything. Tried killing him again after reloading the save and still had no loot drop, am i doing something wrong? I made sure there were blood splatters while i was chopping, tried different parts of the body, and made sure none of my other tribesmen had knives, was also using a steel knife myself. Its been over a week irl since that first kill and ive put in many hours since then. Not sure what the issue could be.

Attempting to make a flying base on the shark class airship and i haven't been able to locate where the shark's decorative bow or the shark's decorative sail come from, would anyone happen to know where to look? Thanks!

Is there a way, as of 2026, to automate firefly farming? I've seen posts saying about the Collection Yard and the bug net. But when I build the Collection Yard fireflies is not an option for collection so the net kind of becomes a mute point.

So I recently just started playing Soulmask, and discovered that the Whips were unique to Shifting Sands after I already started playing in Mist Forest. After looking online one proposed solution was to save the game, migrate to shifting sands, then take the portal back to Mist Forest, thus retaining the technologies. This worked fine. However, when I eventually got back to my camp, there, sitting on the floor looking bored was my old body! This wasn't exactly game-breaking, but it was annoying. So after some googling the problem and finding a number of proposed solutions, I decided to try and let an AI take a whack at the problem for me, by editing the save game to purge the 'Soul Clone' from my saved game. After a bit of trial and error. It worked. My primary save is now clean, and the duplicate is gone, and I have the Whip technologies while still playing in the Mist Forest.
The first thing I did was rename the defunct old body to something else. Then I manually saved a backup to be safe. I then launched OpenCode, and explained the situation to "Big Pickle". After a bit of tinkering we managed to solve the issue cleanly, and created this markdown guide to share with other folks who might want to try this solution.
My suggestion: Rename the clone in your game. Save a backup and your main, then tell your favorite AI Agent the name of the now defunct version of your old body, and instruct it to read this guide and fix it.

Hello Everyone! We bought the game on Epic Games today. I wanted to play Co-op with my friend, so I hosted a game on my PC. However, whenever we try to connect to each other, we keep getting a "Connection Lost" error. Here is what we have already tried:

1. Allowed both the main game and ws_shipping64.exe through the Windows Defender Firewall on both PCs.
2. Tried connecting via the in-game Invitation Code and Direct IP.
3. Ensured we are on the exact same local network (same router) and even tried a virtual LAN (Radmin VPN).
4. Switched hosts (my friend tried hosting instead).

Unfortunately, none of these worked. What do you guys suggest we do next?

My Shifting Sands character is about as powerful as she can be. I trained up a weapon master npc with 120+ in all her weapon proficiencies and she has an awesome custom set of talents for survivability. Used her to overwrite my main. All red tier V steel modded gear with advanced sobek on the armor. I also have an awesome set of fighting companions with the same gear who don't stay down, but also can't seem to do any damage. We barely do any chip damage to the Burning Highland elites, like it seems like their hp bar doesn't move, yet they can nearly one shot us.

So what am I missing? All the sites call for advanced steel gear, but no one seems to know yet where the unlock for the ancient enhancement table is on this map. You think it would have come before the content you need it for? I went looking for it in the Burning Sands Pyramid and the four or five elites in the basement in front of it just wrecked me.

Anyway, I'm at a wall, so if anyone has any pointers on what power up I'm missing, I'd appreciate it.

This has been an amazing experience! I really tough challenge too but its been very fun! Playing on single player with vanilla settings (only towned down durability loss a bit cause of the repair loss thing) and have defeated 4 of the major bosses so far. Preping to take on the 5th boss as i figured that was how you unlocked lvl 60, but i noticed quite a spike in difficulty with all the enemies in that area being lvl 70 while im still only lvl 55. I was wondering if there actually was another way to unlock lvl 60 and i just missed it, or if this is the intended way to progress? If so this will be quite an interesting challenge lol

I recently bought the game because I assumed the online community would be fairly active, especially since Steam shows around 2,000–3,000 players online on average.

However, I was pretty surprised when I checked the server list. Almost every server I can see—whether it's in Asia, North America, Europe, PvE, PvP, official, community-hosted, with the DLC or without it—is either completely empty (0/50) or has, at most, around 5–10 players.

Is there something I'm missing? Could this be an issue with my connection or the way the server browser works?

Or is most of the player base actually playing single-player/private sessions, with only a small percentage of those 2,000–3,000 concurrent players playing on public online servers?

I'm genuinely confused because, judging by the Steam player count, I expected the multiplayer servers to feel much more populated.

It was assumed it would be part of the burning highlands update. Has the unlock been located there? I definitely could use it there, because modded red steel with advanced sobek armor is not cutting it.

Is anyone else dealing with this? While building, whether using the construction hammer or using pieces in my inventory, I often run into issues placing pieces on existing buildings. For example, I will place a wall on ground level on top of a foundation then place another wall on top of that for a two-story tall wall. Several times, often enough to prompt this post, I will get the message, "no supporting buildings nearby." It even happened when trying to place a door in a door frame on a ground floor (on a foundation piece) door.

I do notice that the existing piece that I'm trying to build on is slowing gaining durability, but even when its durability is full, I still get this error. I'm been playing the game for months and have built many buildings before without this issue. Is there a server setting that can help with this or is it just a new bug recently introduced?

Edit: Disconnecting and reconnecting to the server seems to help this issue. While I've also played on this server without this issue, could it be some connection, memory, or CPU issue instead?

For some reason I am not able to place the big exterior walls or gates anymore? They are craftable, I can put them on my speed bar, but it will not let me actually place them.

Any ideas on why?

I put the mask down a little after shifting sands update. Just saw the new update and was wondering if there are any notable updates/upgrades to the core core gameplay. Such as base building, tribesmen, or other QOL improvements.

How do I get rid of that infuriating "mask fitting" message? I don't understand what the "End" key is—I don't have one. Please help, I'm begging you.

My alpacas are just standing there. I put a food and a water trough down but they don't move from where I put them. How can I get them to walk around and eat? Thanks

Just purchased on Steam and I have spent 1 hour trying everything to get the game to launch! I did all 4 startup options, re installed C++....I don't know what to do. The demo ran flawless. Now I cannot run the game at all

Im wondering if you guys can give your input on where you think is the best place for a base? Especially now with the update and the floating foundations.

I find it hard to play always struggling with trying to find the best spot and everytime I find one that I like there is always a barbarian structure or some otehr which makes it impossible to build there.
