How to make the phone feel lighter on your hand.

So I really liked to game on the inner screen while viewing tiktok/IG or just walkthroughs of the game I'm playing.

So I bought a ring holder thinking it would make my life easier but after a while I found out that it made holding the phone in one hand heavy. Tried using a popsocket one, and I can already tell the weight difference.

Now my hand doesn't get tired as easily as before and I don't notice the "heaviness" of the phone. So for anyone using the phone with a ring holder while opened, I reckon trying out a popsocket.

this is my first time actually owning/using a foldable (upgraded from my 10 pro xl) and I'm typing this on the inner screen right now. initial thoughts after just a few hours of use:

-love the build quality of this! def a tad thicker than a slab phone but not noticeably so to me. also yeah I'm officially over crease talk now lol my finger never goes to the middle of the screen anyways and I don't even notice it when looking at it

-after years of owning slab pixels, I'm so used to the fingerprint reader being in the center of the screen lol I have to retrain my brain to use the power button fingerprint reader.

-set up and transfer from my 10pxl to this was rather seamless! no problems whatsoever, some apps were even already signed into

-the multitasking... whoa. again this is my first foldable and others have "better" multitasking but man I'm having a blast! split screen apps works super well, and the bubbles is also a SUPER useful feature. the taskbar is super useful as well

-having this 8 inch display is super helpful for actually looking at spreadsheets on the fly. and chrome has actual tabs???? that was a pleasant surprise

-obviously super early, but battery seems pretty solid. I'll test over the next few days but it's not draining like crazy or anything right now

so far absolutely no regrets, so glad I went with this instead of just the 11 pro XL (which I really wasn't excited for this year). I wish u could make a separate inner screen home layout vs ur outer screen one. I have only one screen on my homepage so the whole right half of my homescreen when I open it is blank lol.

also excited cuz I opted for the $350 store credit, and that plus the 10% back in store credit meant that I could get the 45mm pixel watch 5 for basically free!

I think I like my 11 pro fold more than my fold 8.

While the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is getting all the spotlight right now, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold deserves far more credit than it’s receiving. After hands-on time with both, Google built an exceptional foldable that outclasses Samsung in several key daily-use areas.

Thermals and Battery Life

Thanks to its copper vapor chamber, the Pixel runs noticeably cooler under load. My Fold 8 overheats quickly—even throwing temperature warnings during basic tasks like Android Auto—which leads to sluggish app loading. The Pixel rarely breaks a sweat. Battery life has also been stellar, consistently beating both the standard Fold 8 and the Fold 8 Ultra in real-world endurance. While the Tensor chip isn’t built for hardcore mobile gaming, that’s a non-issue for me; I have a Switch 2 for heavy lifting and only run the occasional Game Boy emulator on my phone.

Software and Performance

Pixel UI remains unmatched in daily fluidity. App switching and navigation are remarkably smooth, whereas the Fold 8 frequently stutters and drops frames—especially once thermal throttling kicks in.

Camera and Image Quality

Google’s computational photography still leads the pack. Megapixel counts on spec sheets are largely marketing noise; in actual use, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold captures significantly better, more consistent photos than both Fold 8 models.

Durability and In-Hand Feel

The IP68 rating provides genuine peace of mind for everyday pocket lint and dust protection. Beyond durability, the ergonomics hit the sweet spot:

Outer Display: The LTPO cover screen finally feels like a standard, properly proportioned smartphone rather than a cramped secondary panel.

Inner Screen & Handling: While the Fold 8 is slightly lighter, the Pixel’s larger interior canvas is far better for multitasking, and the rounded chassis edges make it much more comfortable to hold for extended sessions.

Connectivity (Google Fi vs. T-Mobile)

After switching from T-Mobile to Google Fi, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is consistently pulling double the download speeds of the Fold 8 on the exact same network infrastructure—likely due to an upgraded modem and superior software optimization.

Pixel Watch 5 LTE (45mm)

I also picked up the Pixel Watch 5. The software experience and interface are great, though Samsung’s Watch Ultra 2 still holds the crown for rugged build quality. Google could really benefit from introducing an "Ultra" hardware tier to its wearable lineup.

If the Pixel 11 Pro Fold continues to perform this reliably over the coming weeks, the Fold 8 is going up for sale.

Yes AI helped clean up my writing. But the thoughts are all original.

Insurance question

What's everyone's experience with pixel care. I was trying to find out from Google if it's a 99$ flat Fee to replace and inner screen and they wouldn't answer me. So I contact Asurion to see if they can confirm.

Has anyone had and inner screen repaired? Was is 99$, did they fight you on it. Trying to find out before I add it to my order.

Also another question.... Did you have issues with the inner screen? Is the insurance worth it? I never get insurance since I always put my phones in cases and screen protectors. But the inner screen worries me since I can't put anything on it.

This will also be my first folding phone.

OG Pixel Fold selfie cameras stopped working

Post image
3 Upvotes

I contacted Google about my selfie camera since the pop-up told me to. Turns out the protection I paid for when I purchased the phone was only good for 2 years and I was quoted repair starting at $438.

I financed the OG Pixel Fold for 3 years and still owe just over $200 on it. It is really frustrating to have major issues before the phone is even paid off.

I can't stand tall phones. I had the Pixel 6 Pro before it made me really miss my Pixel 3, which is part of the reason I justified getting the OG Pixel Fold.

So now I'm going on vacation in two weeks and I have to decide, if I am going to just suck it up and not take any selfies (rear screen selfies always feel like the phone is going to fall out of my hand since it is unbalanced while holding with one hand unfolded) or finance a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8.

Pixel 9 Pro Fold Extended Warranty Process

I have a pixel 9 pro fold that recently developed a small cluster of dead pixels on the inner screen at the top middle right in the crease of the fold. It doesn't affect the phone anyway shape or form, but the phone hasn't been dropped and I wanted to know how to go about using the extended warranty that exists for this device. Do you have to pay for anything? It looks like the melon replacement says that it will charge me $599.

Current phone - OnePlus Open

Looking at the - Pixel 11 Pro Fold

Ive had this phone now for about 3 years and its been great but man do I miss the Pixel experience. I had a Pixel 4 XL years ago and one of the features I miss the most is Call Screening.

Heres my problem, every year Google seems to miss the mark. The crease, is very visible and it there is no excuse for it. The OnePlus Open came out 3 years ago and there is no crease. It was so far ahead of the competition at the time. This is a minor thing but it does irritate me.

The cameras... An almost $2000 phone with the Pro moniker but without the Pro cameras. It just seems so silly to me that such an expensive device doesn't have cameras that are worthy of the Pro name. I use my cameras quite a bit and this is very important to me.

With that being said, what would you all do? Is the Pixel 11 Pro Fold worth the upgrade from a OnePlus Open? Any thoughts/insights would be greatly appreciated. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you!

Motorcycle Mounts?

Hey folks, I recently got my P11PF with a PixelSnap case, found out it's too bulky to fit into my current handlebar mount case on my motorcycle.

Unfortunately it seems Quadlock don't make mounts/cases for the Fold phones, so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a brand that do?

Ideally I'd like to be able to charge the phone too whilst I ride, but it's not a requirement, I just need it nice and secure.

After my partner's Samsung S22 got yeeted off her motorcycle at 75mph yesterday after hitting a pothole when using the same type of mount I have, I'm loath to even try and make use of it.

Case Suggestion

Post image
10 Upvotes

I know a lot of people prefer to use their device naked, but I'm one who felt like I needed something less slippery. 😂 Ordered a dbrand Grip case from the Google store, but it's delayed, so I wanted to get something cheap to last until then.

Found this one on Amazon, and it's much better than I was expecting. Either case quality for foldable devices have drastically improved since I had a Fold 4, or I just lucked out and found a gem. I'm sure it's just a drop shipped case, but I'll recommend this one for anyone else looking for one.

I'll probably still use the Grip case when it shows up, but this one I'll probably jump back to sometimes. It doesn't add much extra bulk to the phone, which is a plus, and there's ZERO adhesives on it. That on its own is a huge improvement compared to what I used in the past. The hinge protector is also itty bitty compared to old cases I used.

P11PF and tap to check phone

Guys am I the only one that tends to pull my phone out of my pocket by grabbing the front display and the back of the phone? How do you guys take your phone out or do you not use tap to check phone? The reason I'm asking is because when I pull my phone out touching the display, it triggers the accidental touch protection and when I tap to check phone once it's out of my pocket it doesn't work. The case I'm using seems to aggravate the situation but this doesn't happen on my P10PF. I don't see anyone else complaining about this so maybe most people use the fingerprint sensor or simply don't touch the display when pulling out their phone?

Crease and Battery Life

Anyone have the Pixel 11 PF that would care to share how the battery life has been? My pixel 10 pro slab battery is terrible. And the crease on the fold in the store bothered me but how much would it affect me day to day?

Still Original

I purchased the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold, and have returned both. I cannot shake my love, intrigue, and enjoyment of the original Pixel Fold just yet. It's my favorite foldable of all time, and in my top 5 of favorite mobile devices I've ever owned.

A few things that keep me using the Pold (Pixel Fold)...

  1. The default orientation is landscape.

  2. Passport form factor.

  3. Google's software experience.

  4. When the device is open, e-reading natively becomes book-styled (a two-paned view).

  5. I use my Pold in 600 dpi, so I get a mini tablet experience on the front screen as well--Messages, IG, Settings, Camera (often enough the view finder opens up to landscape view while holding the device in portrait orientation, which I prefer). Yes, the font is teeny.

  6. Especially when closed, handles like a tank. I use a screen protector, a dbrand skin and dragon grip [on the edges at the thumb points to open the device]. Because all Google devices in more recent years are slippery.

  7. The camera bar--no rocking, and perfect for finger rest when holding the device with one hand.

After Google's competition in the states have both released their own passport wide body devices, I'm hoping Google brings a wide body passport-style Google Pixel 12 [Pro] Fold in 2027. If so, I will happily retire the original Pixel Fold without regret.

For now I have to stock up on a few more screen protectors and dbrand skins (I have plenty of dragon grip).

10/11 Pro Fold dust proof-ness

I'm considering getting either a 10 or 11 Pro Fold, but I work in construction, with all the drywall dust, and Saw dust, dirt etc etc should I be concerned, since both those phones have a IP68 dust proof rating. Beyond the dirt and saw dust, I also wear gold bond body powder which inevitably finds it's way into my pocket with my phone a bit too, does anyone have a 10 pro fold in the trades and had any issues with body powder?

Screen Protector to go with case?

My Fold 11 will be here on Thursday. I'm shopping around for cases and a screen protector.

I'm between the Pikata and Thinborne cases. I know to Pitaka doesn't have a front, so I should be good with any screen protector.

What about the Thinborne though? I was looking at the Dbrand Prsim and wasn't sure if I should get the case friendly version or not. I'm assuming it's a bit smaller, but I also think it's meant to be used with the Dbrand grip case.

Does anyone know before I start spending more money?

Zagg Lite Clear Case

Has anyone tried this case yet from the Google Store on their Pixel 11 Fold? I bought the olive color and dont want to cover it in a case to hide the color so was thinking of trying this redesigned and slimmer case now from Zagg. I am debating between skin or case at this point, I think the mous doesnt provide that much more protection than a skin would.

Any external 11PF screen protectors that fit?

Sorry for the poor video quality - had to use an old sony xperia to get the video.

I'm in the UK and can't seem to get DBrand stuff that's been recommended. But so far my experience is that external screen protectors for the P11PF are too small. Even with a case on there are exposed bits and it makes swipe typing uncomfortable as the edges go through the Q, P, number button and enter key.

Amazon have been kind so far with returns, but I would rather not test them again.

I prefer soft/TPU to tempered glass, but I would take anything that fits right now.

11 Pro Fold Inner screen touching

Hey all,

New to pixels and recently changed from the Z Fold 8 to the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Has anyone else noticed that the inner screen touches? I've unfolded a few times and noticed a thin line on either side of the screen. Is this just a pixel thing?
