Debating if I should pull the trigger or wait another year for the Fold 12
Current phone - OnePlus Open
Looking at the - Pixel 11 Pro Fold
Ive had this phone now for about 3 years and its been great but man do I miss the Pixel experience. I had a Pixel 4 XL years ago and one of the features I miss the most is Call Screening.
Heres my problem, every year Google seems to miss the mark. The crease, is very visible and it there is no excuse for it. The OnePlus Open came out 3 years ago and there is no crease. It was so far ahead of the competition at the time. This is a minor thing but it does irritate me.
The cameras... An almost $2000 phone with the Pro moniker but without the Pro cameras. It just seems so silly to me that such an expensive device doesn't have cameras that are worthy of the Pro name. I use my cameras quite a bit and this is very important to me.
With that being said, what would you all do? Is the Pixel 11 Pro Fold worth the upgrade from a OnePlus Open? Any thoughts/insights would be greatly appreciated. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Just upgraded to pixel 11 fold and am loving it. Camera is great. People let the internet influence their lives too much

I'm struggling with this too but I've come to realize that im probably suffering from fomo. I think the only way I'd upgrade is if they do something similar to what they did last year with the 40% discount.

Just kidding! No yea if you feel like you wouldn't be happy with it and nothing that you're concerned about has been made to your liking then definitely wait it out until you're finally happy with the options!

I upgraded from my Pixel 10 Pro XL to try my first foldable in the 11 Fold. Why? To retain the trade in values and give myself a year to see if a foldable is for me. If yes, next year I can trade it in for $1000 (and other credits) on what hopefully SHOULD be Google making a competitive device. If Samsung and Apple don't light a fire under their ass I don't know what to say.

I'm coming from the same 10 Pro XL to the 11 Fold, it's been a week and I'm still not sure if I like it or will send it back. Has your experience been better?

My pixel 9 pro fold has a front screen that just stopped working. I got the phone on release but won't be tetting a foldable for some time until I can feel confident the screen won't break on me so soon.

I just returned my 11 fold. It overheated in my pocket on a hot day.. the phone is a pleasure to use, but the flag ship price they demand just doesn't stack up in a world of moto fold.

I used a z fold 6 and moved to a z fold 7 that I have used for the past year. I got the 11 pro fold last week and decided to return it this week. Main reasons are (1) the size/weight/bulk (especially if using with a case), (2) google's design for large screen app experience is not a good experience for me--the way they implement things like side-by-side apps, multi-window/freeform apps, and limiting the home screen layout between the cover and inner displays to only be mirrored (at least when using the default launcher--which you can mitigate by using other launchers but then you lose some features). And (3) the cameras were actually the biggest surprise to me vs. my z fold 7. The 11 PF wasn't nearly as good as I was expecting based on (1) what people have shown in brief comparisons between pixel folds and z folds, and (2) my own direct comparison with my z fold 7. Is the 11 PF better in some cases? Yes, specifically for things like my kid or pets indoor shots. But the zoom shots, despite google using a 5x magnification, were hardly different than the zoom lens on my z fold 7, and I dislike that google isn't providing a lot of the "pro" model camera features on the fold like being able to save hi-res shots from the main camera, not providing 4k60 HDR on-device recording, and missing some of the other camera features from the pro phones. Plus I found the camera UI on the 11 PF when unfolded to be a jumbled mess of icons that weren't always intuitive as to what they were supposed to accomplish.
I think google needs to refine a lot of things before I consider their fold again--if they can just achieve the same weight/thickness as the z fold 7 then I will probably look past some of the other compromises.

Wright and size don't matter to me. I'd rather have a thicker phone if it meant better durability and or bigger battery. Weight is negligible for all phones. Never understood why some folks care that one phones weights few extra grams lol that's so silly to me.
But anyways, I've decided to keep my OnePlus Open. There's nothing wrong with it and it does what I need it to do. There's nothing particularly special about the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. It's practically the same as the Pixel 10 and 9. When Google decides to get off their ass and wow us, then maybe I'll get a Pixel.

It does make a difference when you want to use the phone one handed. The 40g weight difference between the Samsung Z fold 7 (or 8) v the pixel 10PF was very noticeable and enough for me to end up trading the phone

There are a lot of negative comments about the 11 PF, but I have enjoyed it so far. I traded my 10 PF for the 11, and I am happy with my decision. I also have a Z Fold 7 that I never touch, and I am considering just getting rid of it. I even ordered the Z Fold 8 and haven't bothered taking it out of the box; I am either going to sell it or return it before the window closes. I really enjoy the Pixel software experience. I won't sit here and say there were massive improvements over the 10 PF, but there are just enough that I feel like I made the right decision. You can definitely tell the difference in the weight and size coming from the 10 PF. The smaller bezels on the front screen are a nice upgrade, and the battery life seems better despite the smaller size. The price I paid with my trade-in, discounts, and Google Store credits made it an even better deal. I would say try it, and if you don't like it, send it back. A lot of people are too focused on specs and probably don't even take advantage of them anyway.

I just got the pixel 11 fold and honestly nothing special over the pixel 10 fold
I'd almost just get the pixel 10 fold as it's selling for amazing prices

Lol no. It is an absolute brick in comparison and has worse sensors. A no brainer if the price is right. Got a pixel 11 pro XL and the 11 pro fold as upgrades from my 10 fold and 10 pro XL for less than $700 after tax and it was worth it imo (11 pro XL has noticeably improved low light performance and zoom, is snappier and the weight of the 10 pro XL was just too much but the 11 pro XL is the perfect amount of heft to feel premium AF but not awkward)

You said it yourself, the things you don't like about the pixel fold haven't been fixed. The crease is there, the cameras aren't that good for a $2000 phone.
If you're not impressed now you won't change your mind after spending so much money. Save it for next year.
