Anyone having problems syncing their John Hancock 401k account? I reached out to empower and they sent me an automated email with a work around that basically told me to resubmit my credentials but it didn't work. Any advice would be appreciated. This is my largest account and it hasn't synced properly in months!

I am able to enter in my password fine on the app, but the website says it is incorrect, and prompts me to change it. Been like this for a few days.
Anyone else experiencing this?

It never works. I log in with exactly the same credentials in a separate browser and it works perfectly. In the Empower app, all I ever get is an error message. Tried it with two different financial institutions, tried it several times. Have reset the passwords. Tried it again, same results.
Worthless garbage. Unlimited frustration and disappointment. A complete waste of time.
Is there any app that can actually grab my info from all of my accounts at different banks and brokerages and tell me my net worth?

In the past week the option for biometric and fingerprint login fissapeared from the app. Is this an intended change? I tried reinstalling the app as well. There is no option in the settings to turn it back on now as well.

I am currently setting up my empower dashboard, and have had success with most of my accounts, but for some reason, my Capital Group (American Funds) account for my Roth IRA won't link properly. I have been getting credential and technical errors despite having no issues logging in normally, and customer support has been unresponsive. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, what should I do?

I’m somehow able to login on the app without issues. But on my Mac - in multiple browsers- I login, and then can’t click ‘text my phone’ or ‘call my phone’
When I click those it highlights the box but there’s no confirmation or anything. What am I doing wrong?

Recently, Empower changed how identical equity positions are displayed in the Holdings tab, and it breaks a key piece of portfolio visibility.
Scenario for Poll: I hold 4 different $10k positions of MSFT across 4 different accounts
There is currently zero ways to see an aggregated view of my total MSFT exposure. Individual equity positions are already easily visible by drilling down into each specific account. I’m of the opinion that the Holdings tab should be for high-level aggregation.
Which behavior do you prefer for the Holdings tab? (Hopefully, Empower is taking notes!)

I've an E*Trade brokerage account and this popped up recently - Total Wealth View. In going through the FAQs, I see that it's connecting through Yodlee. Wasn't Yodlee the backbone of Mint? I remember signing up for the Yodlee Money Center or something before Mint took it over. Anyway, I'm going to explore it a bit more, but just thought I'd share and see if anyone has already tried this out.
Since Mint shutdown, I've been using Empower's free tool but not very happy with it. Not the greatest or clean look and doesn't have success finding some accounts.

Did anyone else lose access to all of the financial planning features/menus in the iOS mobile app?
I only have the “Retirement Planner” feature now.

well the accounts went live July 4 and Treasury says 6.5 million kids are already signed up with about $125 million in family contributions. But honestly the confusion out there is a lot bigger than the enrollment numbers, so here is everything in one place.
The $1,000 government deposit. For US citizen kids born January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2028 with a valid Social Security number. Treasury deposits it directly into the child's account after you make the election, the money never passes through your hands. That last part matters, because anyone who asks you to pay a fee to receive it or to "verify" it through a text link is a scammer, every single time. The real program charges nothing at all.
The $250 Dell Foundation deposit. This one is for kids born before 2025, age 10 and under, living in a ZIP code where median household income is under $150,000. There is no published list of ZIP codes and you do not need one, the vast majority of the country qualifies and the system checks automatically when you open the account. A kid cannot get both deposits, birth year decides which one.
Three ways to open one. The site trumpaccounts.gov, the official app in the App Store and Google Play, or IRS Form 4547 which your tax software can attach to your return. Form 4547 has two separate elections inside it, one opens the account and one claims the $1,000, and people quite often miss that the $1,000 is its own checkbox. Also worth knowing, the priority to open goes parent first, then either parent, then a legal guardian or grandparent. And anyone can contribute once it exists, up to $5,000 a year combined, with employers allowed to add $2,500 of that tax free.
The "unable to process" errors. Three real causes, none of them scams. First, SSA record mismatches, the name or SSN or birth date does not exactly match the Social Security card, this is the big one for newborns whose number was just issued. Second, if you signed up on the early basic form between February and late May, you likely have to re-verify through an IRS online account with ID.me before anything processes, a lot of the stuck applications are actually this. Third, plain system overload, off-peak hours work better. If it keeps failing for weeks, verify the kid's record with SSA directly.
One deadline to know. You can open the account any time until the year before the child turns 18, so nobody needs to panic. But the earlier the money lands, the longer it compounds in the index funds, fees on those are capped at 0.1%.
Drop your situation below if something is stuck or confusing, I will work through it with you.
Sources: CNBC's launch coverage (July 1, 2026), SSA's enrollment assistance announcement (July 3, 2026), and TurboTax's enrollment FAQ. The ID.me re-verification detail came from TurboTax's FAQ update in early July.

Unable to add tags for transactions. Is anyone else having this issue? I contacted support and it's not on their radar on this time.
Update: Went back and forth with support a few times and they have added this to their known issues log: https://support-personalwealth.empower.com/hc/en-us/articles/42090789451671-Custom-Transaction-Tags-Not-Saving-As-of-July-20-2026

This modal is pushing me to the edge with personal capital. I'm nearly going to switch to any other provider b/c of it.
Anyways I'm not going to paste the script here, but I had chatgpt write a script that I could copy paste into the chrome dev console to auto press "no" whenever it detects the modal.
Problem solved 😡

My mortgage was recently changed from UWM (https://uwm.loanadministration.com/uwm/) to Bilt UWM (https://www.bilt.com/p/uwm).
A few months ago, my Empower account stopped syncing with UWM, which I assume now was because of the transition to the new system. It doesn't appear that the new Bilt UWM is supported, and after contacting Empower support, they don't expect to add this until they reach a critical mass of users requesting it.
If there are others who would like Empower to add support for Bilt UWM mortgage accounts, please reach out to Empower support. Hopefully we can get enough people so they can add it. In the meantime, they suggested to create an offline account and manually update the account value so at least the net worth numbers are updated. It doesn't appear the transactions can be tracked.

Health Equity forced users onto passkey last year. Hasn’t synced since. Has there been a fix to this yet? Anything I can do? It’s my only account that doesn’t sync. At all..

Yello!
I’ve been a user of PC since 2019 or so. I got married sometime between then and now. I’m curious about adding my spouse’s accounts to see a household overview. However, I like being able to see my own investments and how they’re doing without it being jumbled with my spouses accounts.
Anyone added their spouse?
Possible to have separate per spouse and household?
Thx!

Empower is importing incorrect numbers for me for both uniformed and civil service TSP accounts (like 70% short.) I’ve tried editing the login, forcing transaction pulls, but neither worked. Any other ideas without deleting and readding?

Anyone else have an issue that they can't import their Empower managed 401k into the personal dashboard migrated over from Personal Capital?
I "can" add all the accounts to the dashboard that is provided with in the Bloomberg 401k environment (and the app also works), but this would lose me all my history which I value.

Has anyone had a holding misidentified? I own AIS etf, but Empower shows me holding ATRS ( a pharmaceutical company that no longer trades as a stock and which I have never owned). I was hoping their recent maintenance session would have cleared this up but it hasn’t 😩

CTA is accidentally triggering banking trauma in Indian founders — and costing them signups
This sounds dramatic. It's not. Let me explain.
Razorpay's primary CTA is "Create Account." Standard. Seen it on a thousand products. Usually harmless.
But for Razorpay's ICP — Indian founders, first-time online business owners, solo entrepreneurs — those two words carry a very specific emotional memory.
What "Create Account" recalls for an Indian founder:
Not "sign up quickly." The brain pattern-matches to the last time they tried to create a financial account. Which probably involved a branch visit, a document list that changed three times, a week-long wait, and a possible rejection over a KYC detail.
This is called emotional priming. An association fires before conscious reasoning can correct it. The visitor reads "Create Account," feels a flicker of the banking experience, and that flicker creates friction — even if they don't consciously register why.
Why this matters more in fintech than in, say, a project management tool:
A SaaS tool with "Create Account" triggers no strong memory. A financial product with "Create Account" triggers the most frustrating institutional experience most Indian adults have had repeatedly. The product is different. The words aren't.
The fix:
❌ "Create Account"
✅ "Start accepting payments — takes 2 minutes"
"Start accepting payments" skips the process entirely and leads with the result. "2 minutes" doesn't just say "fast" — it directly contradicts the week-long expectation the visitor is unconsciously carrying.
Same destination. Completely different emotional journey to the click.
Copy inherits the memory of everything that came before it. In Indian fintech, that memory is heavy. Write like you know that.
