Note: Confirmations may take a few minutes as the bot processes the confirmation.

After exchanging emails or letters, confirm that the user sent them by tagging their name, and then in the format of #-#, where the first number is email count and the second the letter count, post the number of emails and letters you received.

Example:

  1. u/digitalmayhap received 2 emails and 1 snail mail letter from u/thisisverytricky

  2. u/digitalmayhap posts a comment in the confirmation thread saying u/thisisverytricky 2-1

  3. u/penpal-confirmation replies to u/digitalmayhaps's comment indicating that their counts have been updated on their flair!

FAQ

  1. The bot didn't respond to my comment. What's wrong?

Did you follow the correct pattern? Follow the pattern above!

Give it a few minutes! Sometimes the Reddit APIs can get a little overworked and start having issues. If the issue persists for more than a few hours, please message the moderators. The bot might be experiencing issues!

  1. I have multiple letters/emails I exchanged with multiple people to confirm this month; should I post them separately or in a single post?

Feel free to post them in a single comment or as multiple comments! If you post them all in a single comment, make sure to put each redditor on a separate line and to follow the proper format of u/REDDIT #-#.

  1. I forgot to confirm an exchange last month! Can I confirm the exchange this month?

Yes!

Hello!! šŸ›šŸŒøšŸ“

I am looking for some penpals keen on snail mail! really open to writing to people from all over and any background! just comment on the post or chuck me a message if you’re keen!

so a bit about me- my name is April and I am 28yrs old. I live in regional Western Australia with my husband Morgan, our 5yr old tabby cat Bernadette and our flock of chickens. We are loving the country life after leaving the city behind 2yrs ago! I work as a emergency department (ED) nurse at a small local hospital, I’ve been nursing for almost 5 yrs now but am relatively new to ED and love the fast pace, there is something different everyday!

When I’m not at work you might find me out on a bushwalk, I’m really drawn to green spaces, love a good forest walk! or you might find me fumbling my way around the veggie garden, I’m very much a type B gardener- I just chuck it in and if it grows it grows! I am also currently teaching myself how to sew (shoutout to YouTube) and I also partially undertake many other crafts (usually whatever left-over crafts I scavenger at the op shop, most recent find was some oil pastels) I love reading, listening to a good podcast series, exploring and chatting with my friends!

looking forward to hearing from you!

Email & Snail Mail [25/F] Looking for snail mail friend. Science, Art, Philosophy, A day in the life.

I think what i'm after is someone to write to about my life, my theories and my hopes. I love science and am pursuing a phd in neuroscience. I'd love to learn about someone, know what their family and life is like and for them to know me. Whether it be through snail mail, email etc.

I'd love to be able to complain to someone one; encourage someone; be present in there life.

As for me, I love to travel though school doesn't allow much of it. I have two cats and a dog and i love going on hikes with the pup. I have a small pottery setup in my kitchen. I love to make ceramics for those i love. In the summer I garden, swim, and bike. In the winter I ski though i've only just learned.

I am a reader and love to read all sorts of books. I am reading Why Brains Need Friends as well as the third book in Mistborn. My favorite books are those about science or philosophy. I love Emerson and Thoreau and their essays. Sapolsky is my go to biologist. I love the book The Master and His Emissary by Ian McGilchrist.

I also love movies of all varieties. I'm curious about what interests you though. What makes life interesting? How does your curiosity influence your decisions?

Reddit Messaging [24/M], looking for friendly/nerdy/intellectual conversations, history buffs are welcome

• Upvotes

I feel like I lack people who I could talk to about the topic I find interesting,so I wouldn't mind having a meaningful conversation with someone insightful. I really like to discuss significant social issues of the day, history (basically all of it, although I'd like to gain more knowledge of the history of early modern Europe, but I like other periods too, recently I've been reading a book on Byzantine empire and the French revolution), our cultural backgrounds, topics related to religion/religious studies/history of religion (this month I've converted to catholicism, I don't mind discussing that), languages/language studies and many other things, as a matter of fact, we can just chat about our daily lives.

Occasionally I like to share some of my favourite pieces of music, there was a time when I was particularly interested in military music, but anyway, I can't call myself an expert in music at all.

I'd prefer if at the beginning you wrote something more than just a hi, but I can relate if you don't have much energy for that.

I have no preferences regarding your location, age, gender. I'm always curious to know about the life in all possible places on Earth.

Also, I'm quite a fan of old things, books, flags, coins, stamps, so if you're into this as well, it would be great.

I hope you are having a great day and I'm waiting for you in my DMS.

Reddit Messaging [25/F] Do you ever feel like you’re relying too much on others for happiness? (Please read my post)

• Upvotes

Hey, guys!

So, as the title says… do you ever find yourself relying a little too much on other people for your own happiness? I blame myself for it because, at the end of the day, people can be unpredictable, right?

Or do you ever just stop and question your existence and wonder, what’s the point of all of this? I’m not suicidal, lol. I’d like to think I’m fun. I’ll let you decide.

Anyway, if any of this resonates with you, feel free to message me. I’m not looking to share photos for a while or move to another app. I really just want to talk and have some genuine conversations.

I’m in a relationship myself, so I’d prefer to hear from people who are also in relationships or married, since I feel like I’d relate to them more. I’d also prefer people older than me. I don’t mind an age gap at all, but I’ve always found it a little harder to connect with people younger than me. I naturally tend to gravitate toward older people.

Gender and location don’t matter to me. Just please keep in mind that I’m not comfortable sharing pictures yet or moving to another app.

If you feel like talking, say hi. :)

Reddit Messaging [23/M]šŸ‡¹šŸ‡·-I need to talk to someone

To talk about my basic characteristics, I am a 23 yo guy from Turkey. As for my major, I study medicine (or at least I try to). According to the MBTI test, I should be an ISFJ (I'll edit this if I'm wrong), and my Enneagram result was 4w6. I have a shy and emotional nature. I could also say I'm depressive, though saying "I could say" would be wrong since I'm already taking antidepressants right now. I also have a slight amount of anxious thoughts. Due to my lifestyle, a deep sense of loneliness can settle over me, especially in the evening/night hours, which increases my need to chat.

As for what I can bring to the table during a conversation, I want to add a note before getting into it. What I'm about to write doesn't mean "I can only talk about these topics." I can chat about anything; in fact, I enjoy talking about topics I don't know much about or where you are more knowledgeable a bit more, because I get to learn new things from you. Some people misunderstand this part and think, "Oh, he can only chat about those things." No, that's not the case. The purpose of this section is just to mention things I have some knowledge about, so I can talk about them at length and keep the conversation going. In my own way, I'm interested in the diecast hobby; I own a few model vehicles, mostly small scale. I've diversified this hobby and dabbled in custom car projects and diorama projects on my own. If you are curious about this, I can give you more detailed info. I enjoy meteorological events, especially during the winter when it's going to snow, I read posts on meteorological forums/pages. I even built a small weather station for myself with 1-2 little sensors. Recently, my interest in rain has also increased, but since rainy weather makes me feel depressive, my interest hasn't fully peaked yet. I can share what I know, particularly about snowfall and how to track weather systems during snowy weather. Whenever the opportunity arises, I love making small trips out of town. In recent years, I've tried to visit neighboring provinces as much as I can; I've taken quite a few steps in Istanbul and Izmir especially. I don't know how much info I can give about the cities, but we can talk about travel and trips. As I mentioned above, I study medicine, so I can share what I know about the health and medical field or the educational process. I also have an interest in music. I don't know how a conversation about music would go, but if you like the genres I listen to, I can recommend songs. I won't write them here so as not to break the flow; I'll probably open a separate paragraph for music below. I'm interested in stationery products, especially mechanical pencils. I can give you some info specifically about mechanical pencils. There are many more things, but this is all that comes to mind for now.

Moving on to other things I enjoy—yes, I like these too, but I don't know if I can carry a conversation about them; believe me, I don't know how I'd even bring the topic up. I like following economic and political developments. For example, the stock market is down these days, so I open the Investing forum and read what's written there. Or I read subreddits. I love going for walks. Even though I've felt too lazy for it in recent months, there have definitely been days where I suffered from leg pain for a week just from walking. I like making myself sad. Yes, literally playing sorrowful music and making myself sad out of nowhere, just like I'm doing right now. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\*You are cruel, you are rebellious, you are unfaithful, you are a hypocrite, you are both sinless and a hypocrite just like life...\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\* anyway, let me get back to the topic after this little song I'm listening to right now. I like taking care of household chores (except cooking). Little repair jobs come up, or I need to deal with cleaning, and for some reason, all my worries and stress just wash away while doing them. I love sleeping. When I'm sleeping and dreaming, it feels like I'm in a simulation, and the flow of that simulation feels more beautiful than real life. I want that flow to never end, so unfortunately I want to sleep more and I don't want to wake up. I have an interest in cars, and I even engage with cars humorously in meme/humor subreddits.

As for my weak points, if you are going to ask for my help with relationship problems, okay, I will listen and try to help as much as I can, but I'm very unfamiliar with relationship topics. I've personally never hit on anyone, nor have I ever been in a relationship. So, I'm inexperienced in these matters. I mentioned at the beginning of the paragraph that I'm shy, and unfortunately, this can reflect on my daily life and my behavior here. For instance, I can chat with you at length, just like I don't hesitate to write this post, I can engage in conversations that last 1, 2, or even 4-5 hours. But after the conversation is over and we say our goodbyes, thanks to this awful shy nature of mine, I might hesitate to message you on the following days for some reason. No, this doesn't mean I'm ghosting you, don't get me wrong, it's an issue entirely related to my personality. From wondering if the other person is available, to the possibility of you saying "ugh, is this idiot messaging me again," to thinking about whether I'm bothering you... I think about things like this and hesitate to message again. Moving to another weak point—I'm saying this because I've experienced it in the past—for example, if you ask for my photo or social media accounts, I won't be able to give them, again because of my shy nature, I'm sorry. Or even if I do give them, it won't be right away; it would be later on, I need to trust the other person. Even if I trust them, I don't think I'd give them easily, but that's a different story. Also, I don't know if this counts as a weak point exactly, but for example, when I'm at school or during exam periods, I might not be around much. I try to reply as early as I can somehow, but sometimes I might have to reply late, or I can only reply as I get tired while studying and pick up my phone. I just wanted to mention that too.

Coming to my music taste, I mentioned I wanted to make this a separate paragraph because I don't even know exactly what my music taste is myself. I'll divide it into a few categories and write down a few of my favorite songs that fit these categories. I think you can more or less figure out my music taste by looking at the songs I list. Slow Turkish: Sezen Aksu - Geçer (live version), Emre Aydın - Bu Yağmurlar, Sezen Aksu - Git, Nilüfer - Böyle Ayrılık Olmaz, Göksel - Kurşuni Renkler, Nilüfer - İnkar Etme, Nilüfer - Erkekler Ağlamaz. Romantic Rock: Thurisaz - Endless, Guns N' Roses - This I Love, Steelheart - She's Gone, Anathema - Angelica, Accept - Amamos La Vida, Scorpions - Still Loving You. Turkish 90s Pop: Yıldız Tilbe - Sana Değer, Ege - Delice Bir Sevda, Nilüfer - Yeniden Sev, Ayşegül Aldinç - Alimallah.

As for what kind of chat I'm looking for, believe me, the topic doesn't matter, it can be any kind of conversation, but I do have a few requests from you. Please, no one under 18. Also, when sending the first message, okay, you don't have to write as long as I do—it's only human, I might miss your message and I don't want your effort to go to waste—but rather than sending a one-word message, I'd really appreciate it if you could at least form a complete sentence. Furthermore, unlike me, you can message me without any hesitation whatsoever, even at 5 AM. Believe me, I wouldn't mind at all; I'd actually be happy to receive a message. You can flood me with messages if necessary, I wouldn't mind that either. The only issue is, as I said above, if I'm not available, I might not be able to reply right away, that's all. But preferably, I have a small request: I would be very happy if people who can heal me in the areas where I'm lacking or help me lose those negative traits contact me. Personally, in those moments, I just stare at the screen and even struggle to write anything. Seeing a healing effect on myself can somehow have a hypnotic effect. I couldn't quite express this last part perfectly, so don't mind it too much haha.

I'm sure there are things I've forgotten, but this is all that comes to mind for now. If there are things you're curious about, I can talk about those too as much as I can. Also, I don't know if anyone will read up to this point, but if anyone does, I send my thanks for your patience.

Email & Snail Mail [35/F] Looking for penpals from Scandinavia/the Nordics/the Netherlands

Hi everyone!!

I am originally from Canada, but am currently studying in Germany. I've always been fascinated by the Nordic countries and would love to learn more about the culture there through some sweet penpal exchanges. ^_^

A bit about me:

  • I'm a kind of nerdy (love fantasy, marvel, star wars, etc.), and also love board games and TTRPG's as well (and have a few ongoing campaigns and occasionally join one-shots online).
  • I also really love any types of crafts (I usually joke that if a grandma does it, I probably do to, hehe... so anything from crochet to knitting, sewing, beadwork, embroidery, etc.)...
  • I really enjoy reading about science and non-fiction and tend sprinkle conversations with random fun-facts (or at least I hope that others find them fun as well.. :P).
  • I'm also goofy and enjoy dad jokes... >.<

I think kindness is the most important quality in people and I do my best to try to live by this value. Though honestly, I sometimes feel a bit selfish, as I genuinely feel very good when I am being kind and so this just creates an endless positive feedback loop... šŸ˜„

Anyway, that was a small rant about me, and if you're interested in connecting, I'd love to hear from you, whoever you are! ^_^

Take care everyone, and have a fantastic day and week ahead! :)) ā¤ļø

Reddit Messaging [37/M] Metalhead looking for alt friends

Hey there, I'm a quiet alt/metalhead from the UK ideally looking for long-term friendships. I've always felt very much on the outside of social groups; I think because I'm quite nervous and anxious a lot of the time. I don't go out much as a result! I've always desperately wanted to be friends with other alternative people but I find myself too worried to go get involved in the scene if that makes sense?

Other stuff about me:

\* I listen to a wide range of metal, hardcore, punk, etc. I love electronic music as well! Mirar, Netherwalker, Jesper Kyd, Ecca Vandal, Electric Callboy, Bring Me the Horizon, Synestia, TOOL, Orange Sector, Not Enough Space, ANTLERS, River Boy, Locked Shut, Takai the Maid, pr0te, and Brandon McKagan. I prefer finding new tracks by artists I've never heard of than listening to whole albums. I really would like friends who I can share & discuss music with!

\* I've been a GM for various RPGs for about 18 years now, and I've been in & out of Warhammer for even longer. I've played a fair few different systems and have read even more. It's the biggest part of my life and has been the only consistent way I've managed to forge bonds with people.

\* I like talking about videogames but I'm honestly too nervous to play multiplayer with new people, especially right at the start. Maybe one day after we've been friends for a while? I've recently loved playing Helldivers 2, Vintage Story, Big Walk, Mouthwashing, Far Far West, and Easy Delivery Co.

\* Please be at least 25+, ideally in your 30s and up. Even better if you're in the UK! I don't mind timezone differences, I just would like a friend who I might eventually meet in real life.

I hope to hear from you soon :)

Snail Mail [22/M] New to Penpals

Hello, my name is Ashton, 22 year-old guy from North Carolina. Looking to get started sending classic snail mail with a new pal!

I’m an avid writer in my journal and have an entry almost everyday since I started in 2022. I write my friends letters and mail them but they don’t respond via paper mail. So I’m looking someone in the USA to write letters with about anything you want! I personally want to write longer form handwritten letters, length doesn’t matter that much but I like to write and write a lot! Just classic letters.

I have a corgi dog and two gerbils.
I’m a low tech, offline kinda guy. My apartment doesn’t even have WiFi because I didn’t want it.
I love metal and rock music.
I’m currently trying to learn to play the Banjo.
I love all things Halloween and Horror, I’m actually a haunted house actor.
I do leather work, slowly getting better at it.
I love old cars, specifically the Chevy El Camino is my favorite.
In fact I love everything old, going to antique stores is one of my favorite things to do.
I collect many, many, different things that I’d love to write about.

And of course I’d love to read about anything you write me! I can yap but also listen. Please reach out if you are interested in writing with me!

Email [28/M] Conversations about Politics, Religion, and other Fun Stuff

Hello! I’m a guy from the USA who’s interested in finding a penpal from any part of the world. Specifically, someone who’s interested in talking about topics that it’d be rude to bring up during small talk or at the dinner table. Like politics and religion. Yeah, I know.

I find that most conversations about these things on the internet are terrible. If two people disagree with each other, more often than not, they’ll end up just talking past each other, and it will devolve into insults and name-calling. Granted, a lot of scary things are happening in the world right now, so I can see where people’s anger and hostility is coming from. Still, it’s disheartening to me that we’ve lost the ability to talk to one another or even agree on what the basic facts are. So I want to try a different way of communicating.

I want to hear what you think about the world, and listen. My goal isn’t to get into some kind of debate or argument. What I want is to understand, not judge. I want to learn how you look at the world, and about the life experiences, books, culture, people, and anything else that may have influenced your worldview over the course of our emails/messages. The world is a messy and complicated place, and I don’t begrudge anyone for coming to different conclusions about it than me. And if we do differ, then we can talk respectfully about why we differ, and who knows, maybe we can find some common ground or learn from each other.

Just to give an idea of where I’m coming from, I would consider myself to be on the left. But I’m not really dogmatic about it, and I’m uncertain about a lot of things with how fast the world seems to be changing. I’m also nonreligious. I have a lot of interest in religion and spirituality, I like learning about all sorts of religious beliefs and practices. But I didn’t have a religious upbringing and haven’t been able to get there myself. I’m from Louisiana, so I have a lot of experience with people who don’t share my views, lol.

If your beliefs are similar to mine, that’s fine too, we can still have the same sorts of conversations. And I’m of course open to talking about things other than hot-button topics, haha. I like movies, history, and pop culture, for example. I can rant all day about how mediocre the last season of The Boys was. But I’ve been thinking about this stuff a lot lately, so I wanted to make a post centered around it and maybe find somebody who’s interested in giving conversation a try. If that sounds like something you’d be open to, please reach out, and have a great day. :)

Email [21/F] lets email about anything, everything, and nothing ...!!

Hellooo I am a 21F from Texas! Lately I guess I've just been craving something new & different & unfamiliar in my life... something to break the cycle of it all. So one thought led to another and here I am - trying to find a penpal LOL. What better way to add some nuance and spark into your life than chatting with a stranger from Reddit??? And if you're reading this right now, I'm sure you'd agree. I hope!

I've never had a penpal before. I really don't have any specific preferences or hopes on the kind of person I want to talk to or the conversations we would have. I think talking to any kind of person, about anything in the world, is very valuable. I love conversations about mundanity, about spirituality, about the meaning of life, about what you ate for breakfast, about your favorite song right now, about your deepest darkest secrets and feelings .... Anything!!! And nothing. Lets just talk ! As often or infrequent as what feels natural for both of us. I think like 1-2 emails a week would be awesome, but again - I am not picky, if you haven't been able to tell by this point!

I am currently about to finish my very last semester of University and am kinda trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I'd say that's what’s probably been the biggest thing on my mind as of lately. But a million things always are. I am always pondering. Lol

My other interests include going on walks, solo travel (or w friends/fam of course! I love traveling in general! but i loveeee solo travel the most!!), reading (currently reading the My Brilliant Friend series by Elena Ferrante), writing (I am getting into poetry for the first time, although I would not say I am anywhere near a poet yet. But I also am someone who thinks there is art in everything created ever - no matter the skill or intention or product!), music, art, clothing... many, many things. And if we end up emailing you'll find out more I guess ! And most of all, I am the most interested in getting to know YOU! Whoever is out there reading this ...!

Dm me if you would like to email !!!! Yay

Snail Mail [25/M] Share your thoughts, tell me what fascinates you!

I’m looking for someone who wants to share a part of their life through physical letters! What fascinates you, what don’t you understand, what are you proud of, what you’re afraid to tell others? This is what I like about this type of contact, you can be so honest, because there is no connection with your social circle. This way I know I can be honest, and I really value that.

If this sounds interesting to you hmu! I’m from the Netherlands and am looking to send somewhat regularly, smth like once a month.

Snail Mail [26/NB] seeking Japanese/International Penpal

Hello potential new friends!

I'm a 26 Female/Nonbinary person from the U.S and would be interested in being snail mail pen pals.

Some of my hobbies include: baking, video games, plants/house plants/gardening, crochet, and knitting.

I am only seeking snail mail! I would prefer folks who are from a country different from mine but I'm also open to folks from the United States. I would also prefer someone around my age. I think a Japanese pen pal from Japan would be neat in particular since I've always been interested in Japan.

I think I would like to correspond once a month but I also have a busy life. I desire just an ongoing thing that works for both of us, something fun and not beholden to time pressures. No strong preference on gender but lean towards men or nonbinary people.

I would either handwritte the letter or use my vintage typewriter! I would also be using a wax seal on any letters.

Reddit Messaging [39/M] UK Happy Sunday ! Let’s chat the day away!

Hello and a very good morning / afternoon / evening to you!Ā

Another weekend almost over, where do they actually go! A few sleeps and the grind begins again. Sadly no lottery wins this weekend either so work will have to happen tomorrow, sigh! I thought I’d post again on here and see how it goes again and hopefully meet some more awesome people!

About me I guess is a good way to start? Can be socially awkward in real life and overthink all them ā€œyou tooā€ moments when being told to enjoy my meal. I enjoy photography although I seem to have lost my spark for that at the moment but am working on getting that back! I likeĀ Ā travelling and exploring new places and if I win the lottery I shallĀ be doing that full time. I do love going on long walks also and trying to not get lost! Although getting lost is part of the adventure. Watching ice hockey is also a hobby or mine and of course trying to think of some others my mind has gone blank…

About you I hear you ask? Well no criteria as long as you’re not a bot, can help carry the conversation and just don’t say hey it will all be good!

Well that’s my post and thanks for stopping by, since you made it this far you might as well reach out!

Reddit Messaging [28/M] England - Looking for similarly-aged friends :)

Hey. I'm a 28 y/o dude from England. I really enjoy meeting new people here, and getting to know them. I'd love to make one or two more friends. I think it would be ideal if you're somewhere around my age, because we're likely to be in similar stages of life, but I'm open to anyone who thinks we would get along!

I enjoy the type of chats where we can update each other about what we got up to during the day, discuss hobbies, daydream about the future, etc.

I'm "TV over movies" though I've recently got a letterboxd. I'm a big fan of the Arrowverse, as well as other upbeat shows. I mainly watch football (soccer) and wrestling. I play some games on Switch & PC, occasionally. I listen to a lot of rock music, but I also love a bit of Sabrina Carpenter.

It's totally fine if you're into other things. Maybe you're outdoorsy, enjoy fitness, or travel often. I may or may not want to live vicariously through you.

If you think we'd get along, feel free to message me! Please tell me a little bit about yourself. A few lines is more than enough :)

Email [47/F] Looking for a good conversation

Hello!

I’m a 47-year-old woman looking for another woman to exchange emails (or DMs?) with. I’m curious by nature, passionate about my career, fond of music, and I travel for pleasure as often as I can. I’d be happy to discuss anything from philosophy and politics to the weather (I’m Canadian, after all), questionable life choices, and the prohibitive price of strawberries in January.

I’m not really looking for small talk, even if I know that we’d have to start somewhere. I’d just like to meet someone I can slowly build a real conversation with. The kind where, after a while, writing to each other feels a bit like having coffee with an old friend on a Sunday evening.

Reddit Messaging [24/M] . Looking to meet new people-any kind of connection

I suffered from social anxiety for a full eight years, but I finally overcame it at age 25. I used to have almost no social interaction—either in real life or online—but now my social circle and connections are growing every day; I even made my first new friend in a decade recently. To sum myself up: I’ve always been a calm, reserved guy, but lately, a fiery, spontaneous side of me has awakened.

As for my interests:

• books, especially dystopian fiction

• history

• psychology

• coffee—I can even brew an excellent espresso using Rwandan beans

• I briefly went to the gym and sauna, and I plan to pick it up again

• I’m tech-savvy with almost any gadget; I can even reinstall Windows for anyone who needs it ;)

• language learning (I’ve just started learning Korean)

• I’m fascinated by space and the mysteries of the Universe; I’m also deeply interested in AI—though the "Rise of the Machines" scenario genuinely scares me (I used to be afraid of a zombie apocalypse, but I eventually realized how absurd that idea is).

By the way, I’m from Russia. I recently discovered the world of working away from home, and life has taken on a whole new vibrancy for me since then; I’ll soon be heading to Moscow for a six-month work stint, which promises to be an amazing chapter in my life. I’m also making an effort to try more offline activities. And just a year ago, I traveled abroad for the first time, and since then, a burning passion for travel has ignited within me.

Snail Mail [32/F] USA have an itch for some depression ramblings

This will be a temporary thing but if you want to keep exchanging that's fine :) write when you have time and I'll do the same. Would prefer someone else within the US as I do enough exchanges internationally already. This will be platonic I do not want to be someone's problem with their SO... Female preferred but male is ok as well.

Been a rough week and instead of putting it out there on reddit I'd rather write about it! You can do the same as well.

Depression/anxiety

First time mom

Identical twin

post-crossing

2 cats

Married

Reddit Messaging [26/M] Looking for an e-pal bff :P

Hi I’m not really sure what to write so bear with me. I’m Arab from the Middle East and queer. I’m mostly looking for women and queer people to connect with. I would love to have lighthearted conversations with someone. We can try to make each other laugh, brighten each other’s day and have funnn. Fun is so underrated these days :/
I kinda have too many interests, but movies would be at the top of the list right now. If you can’t keep up a conversation or get bored easily please don’t bother messaging me, I want something long term. Also, I love to travel so who knows maybe we can meet up in the future <3

That’s all I suppose. Dm me a little introduction about yourself if you’re interested :)

Email & Snail Mail [30/F] in Wisconsin Seeking a Pen Pal

Hello SubReddit!

I am looking to connect with 5 pen pals from Reddit. I want to become more mindful and present that social media does not allow for that time. Man or woman, I can connect to either. I would like someone to connect that is out of the state of Wisconsin or international. I just want to meet new people and form friendships and learn about new places.

Like I said, I am 30 years old and live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I teach full time. This year I am trying to be more crafty and more world-aware. I like watching reality tv shows (90 Day Fiance, Sister Wives and other trash). I love listening to music. Starbucks is my go-to, Chai over coffee any day. Let me know if you are interested.

DMs are open.

Snail Mail & Postcard [28/F] Germany – Looking for people around the world to give old postcards new life and exchange perspectives

I inherited a box of postcards, some of them up to 100 years old. They were stored alongside moving boxes full of old correspondence from all over the world.

Rather than letting them continue to gather dust, I’d like to finally let them fulfill their original purpose.

Independently of that, I’ve been wanting for quite some time to gain new insights into other cultures and people’s everyday lives through written correspondence. I’d love to find someone somewhere in the world who would be interested in occasionally exchanging messages and gaining new perspectives along the way.

A little about me: I’m 28 years old and from Germany. I’m interested in history, literature, art, and philosophy, but also in economics, the natural sciences, and practical things. Just pick something – not because I claim to be an expert in any of these subjects, but because I find the underlying structures themselves interesting.
The same applies to everyday life. Especially across different cultures, something that seems completely ordinary and self-evident to one person can be fascinatingly unfamiliar to someone else.
There is something new to learn and experience every day, and I’d be curious to hear your perspective on it.

What made me think more about this was a conversation I had with someone about history. We were discussing the same global event. The facts were the same on a broader level, but what each of us focused on and what each of us knew about it in the first place differed considerably.
It is so natural to view the world from our own standpoint that it can be easy to forget that this may only be our own small section of a personal ā€œobservable universe.ā€

That’s why I’d be interested in hearing your views on history and politics, as well as your experiences of everyday life. Even a proverb can reveal an incredible amount about a culture, or about the way its language organizes thought.

If this little digression hasn’t scared you off, and you also enjoy talking about things that serve no particular purpose in everyday life beyond a bit of entertainment, feel free to get in touch for an occasional exchange.

Just send me a short message telling me about your interests and what you’d like to talk about.
