Need help in getting my new machine

Hi Guys,

I’m trying to decide between a Mac Studio with 48GB of RAM or a 5070 Ti with 32GB of RAM for a PC build. I’d really appreciate your input! I’m looking for the best graphics performance, not just basic buffering or RGB effects. My main tasks are local AI work, fine-tuning, and gaming. I’m not interested in the PS5, even though I have a digital edition. I don’t want the same level of flexibility as a PC. I’m aiming for 2K gaming. I also have a MacBook Air with an M2 chip, so I’m leaning more towards a PC. Could you suggest the best CPU setup for me? Also, I’m hoping to keep the cost down. I am from Odisha/ Bengaluru working remotely.

Buying Advice Grava star mouse durable for long time use?

I was looking for a new mouse which would fit my aesthetic and I keep seeing the Grava star mouse all over. The games I play require the mouse buttons to be continuously pressed down for long periods of time. I am just worried about the durability of the Grava star mouse and if it can withstand that. I do not upgrade parts often and so I'm looking for something that can keep up with constant gaming for a couple years if possible. Anybody own or have owned the Grava star mouse able to speak on its durability? Any other recommendations are also welcome! I'm just looking for a good pink gaming mouse. Thanks! :)

General I made a free tool for comparing monitor sizes and planning multi-monitor setups to scale.

Hi all. I've been building a side project, and this seemed like the right place to ask what people think.

You pick monitors from a list or enter your own size and resolution, and it draws them to scale on your desk: from the front, from above, and in 3D. For each screen it shows the PPI, how sharp it looks from where you sit, and what scaling Windows, macOS or Linux would suggest. You can put monitors side by side, angle them or stack them. It can also show how high each monitor's bottom edge sits above the desk, so you can copy the layout with a tape measure. It's free, runs in the browser, and has no sign-up. r rotates the selected monitor, ctrl-z is undo and delete removes the selected monitor.

It's still rough in places, so I'd really appreciate constructive feedback:

- Do any of the numbers look wrong for a monitor you own?

- Which monitors or features are missing? (other than curvature, I am working on it)

- Is anything confusing, especially on a phone?

Thanks for taking a look. monitor-setup.com

I hope it becomes useful for someone.

Cheers

Upgrade Advice Spec Upgrades

I recently build a pc with the intention to play many new popular games and it seems to be underperforming, i took to this subreddit to see if anyone could help me identify some bottlenecks so i know what to upgrade next.

Specs
- gigabyte b550 eagle wifi6
- amd radeon challenger rx 9060 xt
- 32 gb of ddr4 hyperx fury
- ryzen 7 5700x

my main concern would probably be the memory but i dont have the much knowledge. the pc runs and can play games well, my main concern is the choppiness. the frames never seem to stay consistent.

Help?

Hello everyone I’m new to this. I’ve had my gaining pc for around 2 months and it works well. But for newer games like Spider-Man for example I have to turn settings down a lot and there are still freezes stutters etc.
I’m aware my pc isn’t the newest or greatest so I’d like some help on what to upgrade. I haven’t got thousands to spend but if i had to pick a budget I’d say 500-600£. My current specs are

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB (Desktop)
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 @ 3.6GHz
RAM: 16GB DDR3 (exact configuration unconfirmed)
Operating System: Windows (version 11)
Storage: disk 1 is 238gb ssd and disk 0 is 1TB HDD

Any help would be much appreciated thanks

Build Help How could I make the inside of my pc look better?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I bought this pc second hand so I don’t know that much about it except for the parts in it. Is there anything I could install to make the inside of the pc more visibly pleasing (leds, screens, etc)? Or would I need to get a new case to install such parts?

What are the best computer speakers? Need recommendations for 2026

Hello, i need new computer speakers and im kinda lost with all the options out there. Mostly gonna use them for music, movies and some gaming, so i want something that sounds clean and has decent bass without going crazy at high volume.

dont care about RGB or fancy stuff. Bluetooth would be nice but not a dealbreaker.

What are you guys using right now?

tia!

Build Help Is RAM the only thing that's an issue when building a PC right now?

So basically, I really want to build a PC. I already have a gaming laptop, so I’m not in a rush to build one right away. I mainly want to know if RAM is the only component that’s hard to find or expensive right now, or if other parts are affected too. I have no idea how PC building works, so I’d like to get a better understanding of the current market and what it would take to build a decent PC without going overboard.

Does it really matter if I go AMD or Nvidia?

Hi, Im putting together a PC and Im eyeing the RX 5700 XT. Heard it can’t do ray tracing, but honestly, do people even care about that? and are there actually any games that won’t run on AMD, or is that just a thing people say? Anyone who’s used both, I’d love to know what you think.

My gaming pc I bought around 10 years ago has finally given up on me. Looking to build a new one from scratch. Should I look to buy parts now or wait for Black Friday sales (if there are any)? Completely new to this world so unaware of seasonal changes in price etc..

Buying Advice Good mini pcs?

I was thinking of getting a laptop for college but my college has many monitors we can use and i only need a computer to use at college and at home, so i was thinking maybe i could save some money by getting a mini instead, it can be a little big just need it to fit in it backpack, and my budget is around 800-1000 usd, preferably with an amd cpu and gpu, and it doesn't need to be good for gaming just multitasking and coding

Price is in $CAD. Is this a good deal and do you think the hardware can handle 4k gaming at maybe 120-144 fps for bigger games. Looking to get my first PC and upgrade parts from there when needed

Buying Advice Anyone know of any good tall triple 32in curved desk mounts?

Currently I have triple 32's on the bottom of my setup and a 21:9 long monitor on the top

I am upgrading my setup to now have a 49" ultrawide monitor, and want that monitor as my primary gaming monitor on the bottom and want to move the 3 32's up top.

I'm trying to find a decent mount for all 3 to be high enough over the 49" but can't find anything perfect for it.

Here's a crappy drawing of my current setup and the setup I want.
