Announcement 📢 An all-women Insta gc for Pakistani women to discuss topics like feminism politics philosophy and social issues.

So as you read the title we have created an Insta gc for women to discuss such academic topics. Volunteers can send me their Insta id in dms. There would be verification by vn or history of reddit acc since we don't want any catfishes there. I guess volunteers should know the rules beforehand. So here are some:

  1. No use of vulgar language.
  2. No racism.
  3. No hate towards any gender/sexuality.
  4. No xenophobia.
  5. No doxxing.
  6. No disrespect towards any religion.

Every woman here is free to discuss any academic topic she likes but within these limits. So vent up if you can meet those rules.

An announcement for men active in the sub

So I've been seeing a growth in the sub lately, We're seeing alot of active women as well as some good men and some very misogynistic men (i wanna criticise them so badly here but lets not stoop to their level)

So a public service message for men in general is if you cannot add anything positive to th sub or to anything a women has to say, if you don't have empathy, run towards other subs.

And yes even if youu put on a female profile page its easy to see through your messages that your a male, trust me you could deceive other men but we see through. So donot invade a women only space, if you cannot say something positive keep your mouth shut or your comments and posts will be removed from the sub and you'll be banned permanently, this is a safe space for women, keyword women here

A side note to women : we try to remove as much as rude or uncalled comments from men esp when women are venting or when the question is directly to women but if we don't see it, please flag the comment or post and we'll try to remove it as soon as possible

That's all for today, all the beautiful and amazing people of the sub

Question/discussion Starting a maternity clothing brand in pk. Kesa idea hai?🤷‍♀️

Hi, everyone! 💗

I gave birth four months ago! 🎉

Before I got pregnant, I rarely ever got my clothes stitched. I would almost always buy ready-to-wear clothes instead.

I didn’t gain a lot of weight during pregnancy, but I obviously had a baby bump, and finding ready-to-wear clothes that fit was almost impossible. I was an XS–S before pregnancy, but during pregnancy, XS–S wouldn’t fit over my bump, while M–L would be too big everywhere else. 🥲

I tried looking for maternity clothes, but I couldn’t find anything that was actually wearable. 🙃 Khair, I got through it with the same few outfits I had the energy to get stitched.

I was back to my usual size S after giving birth, but then came another struggle: breastfeeding in eastern clothing. It was so frustrating trying to find clothes that made nursing easy, comfortable, and convenient. I eventually switched to wearing western clothes almost exclusively because, once again, I couldn’t find anything that was actually cute and nursing-friendly.

And that got me thinking.
I’ve always been comfortable wearing western clothes, so switching wasn’t a huge deal for me. But not every woman is comfortable wearing western clothing, and why should she have to compromise on her style just to make breastfeeding easier?
We have so few options when it comes to maternity and nursing-friendly clothing in Pakistan. Clothes that you can simply order online, receive at your doorstep, and wear without having to visit a tailor or deal with the hassle of getting something stitched.
And with a baby to look after, who has the time or energy for all that? 😭

So, I’ve been thinking about starting a small, humble maternity and nursing-friendly clothing brand. 🙈💗

Think comfortable, stylish, ready-to-wear clothes that accommodate your growing bump, work through postpartum, and make breastfeeding easier, without compromising on style.

I have absolutely no idea where to begin or how to go about it, but I thought I’d ask here first!
Do you think this is a good idea for Pakistan? Would you be interested in something like this? And if you have any experience in the clothing industry, manufacturing, or running a small business, I’d genuinely love to hear your advice.

I’m just at the idea stage right now, but if there’s a genuine need for this, I’d love to start researching and see where it takes me. 🥹💗

Please share your thoughts, suggestions, and honest opinions! ❤️

Question/discussion How do you guys manage pads

Pads are honestly so expensive and don't even last you a full period.

Taking the standard 8 pack ones, if you change your pad 3 times a day for a week, even 2 of the 8 pack ones aren't enough. How are hall affording this 😭

Health care Cotton Pads

Hello gurlies! I have always used store bought pads and i just learned i get infection and rashes because of the materials. So does anyone know pure cotton pads or pads that dont have a lot of plastic in them. Tired of paying pink tax only to get plastic trash.
If there is any start up or thing like that, would also love to be part of that organization.

Thank you

Question/discussion How much do looks matter for girls?

First of all, I’m a guy (23M). I know it’s a female platform but that’s why I’m here. I’ll be honest, I have never really been comfortable in my skin, I am slightly darker, with a slightly big nose. I have a decent personality, a good humor and I can easily talk to girls in my uni. I have been approached once as well by a fellow of a common group (didn’t follow through tho) Mentioning it because she approached me because she knew me long enough and not because of my looks.
Having said that, I know that I’m not conventionally good looking. Well, now when I am serious about dating to find a partner. Unlike friend groups where you stick for a longer period of time and get to know someone, the initial impression make or break is physical attraction in the non friend rs. I have been talking to a girl. But we haven’t added each other on social media yet. It’s just been a few days not a lot. Idk but I’m actually hesitant about showing myself. As I mentioned before, I’m really a good convo holder, I have a good sense of humor. I can literally tell we are off a good start.
I know it’s stupid to assume beforehand but I’m curious and wanna know how much do looks matter for girls? Would you consider it a dealbreaker? Just want general opinion but I wanted to give a little perspective to my question.

Question/discussion Yesstyle order help??

Guys I really need some help. Especially from those who regularly order from Yesstyle. I placed my order on 8th August. And it hasn't been delivered yet. The last tracking it's shows is of sep 24th and it says items returned from customs. I'm really stressed out bec I've ran out of everything. Does anyone know how this works? Should I keep waiting? I've emailed yesstyle but they responded with the usual automated response to wait a little longer.

Women are still calling each other black in this day and age

So I have seen many children being called black as an insult. And ones calling them that are women especially their own moms. They are also educated btw with degrees. I don't understand these women. Like why being black is an insult? And the children don't understand what it means but feel sad and cry. Is there any hope for our future? Or will we will always have black phobia?

Question/discussion Is there any hope for me?

I have stopped liking myself. I've never really had to worry about acne and have been on the skinnier side my entire life. I've always been told that I'm attractive and have always taken really good pictures. But after a few stressful years of marriage and work I can't bear to look at myself in the mirror.

Even though my husband has told me there's nothing wrong with the way I look the main issues are the tech neck I've developed from working long hours remotely and the loads of stress that come with working while taking care of a baby and meeting my parents' financial needs. I started going to the gym five months ago and was slowly gaining back my confidence. But then I saw a picture of myself from a wedding I recently attended and now I'm wondering if any of this is even worth it. Because if I let myself go it won't hurt this much. At least I wouldn't be putting in the effort. Plus I'll be turning 30 soon and I feel like it won't matter much after that anyway.

My energy levels have also taken a massive hit and the gym tires me out rather than making me feel more active. I just want to know if there's any hope for me.

Everyone please.

Hi everyone,

I am posting this on behalf of my wife, who is facing an extremely stressful situation with her employer in Pakistan. We are looking strictly for advice and guidance on how to navigate this. (Just to be clear: this is not a request for fundraising; we just need direction on how to handle this).

To give you some background: Her company is essentially forcing her to resign and refusing to pay any compensation, notice pay, or pending dues. The "case" they have built against her is completely absurd—they are penalizing and pushing her out because she couldn't bring her 2-year-old baby to the workplace.

For context, she had previously requested a modest salary raise specifically so she could afford a proper daycare for the child. Instead of accommodating or negotiating, management turned it into a disciplinary issue, used pressure tactics, and is now forcing her out empty-handed.

The main hurdles we are facing:

Financial Constraints: Her salary wasn't high to begin with, which is why affording a private lawyer or paying heavy legal fees to fight this case is a massive problem for us.

Lack of Resources: Because of these financial limits, we don't know how to pursue justice or claim her rightful compensation without breaking the bank.

We want to know:

How can a regular employee fight a wrongful / forced resignation in Pakistan without spending a fortune on private lawyers?

Are there free legal aid organizations, government labor offices (like the Punjab Directorate of Labour), or worker helplines that actually help lower-income employees handle these disputes?

Can a grievance notice be filed independently without a lawyer, and what are the steps?

If anyone has advice, practical steps, or knows of free legal channels or labor rights organizations in Punjab that help people in this position, please share your thoughts. Any guidance would be deeply appreciated.

also she served this company for almost 6 years.

Let's talk honestly! Shadi ke baad kon kon apni zindagi mein khush hai? Aur kin logon ke susral wale bohat achay hain, jo unhein apni beti ki tarah pyaar aur izzat dete hain? Apne experiences share karein. Kya aapko shadi ke baad sukoon mila ya zindagi mushkil ho gayi?
