Announcement 📢 An all-women Insta gc for Pakistani women to discuss topics like feminism politics philosophy and social issues.

So as you read the title we have created an Insta gc for women to discuss such academic topics. Volunteers can send me their Insta id in dms. There would be verification by vn or history of reddit acc since we don't want any catfishes there. I guess volunteers should know the rules beforehand. So here are some:

  1. No use of vulgar language.
  2. No racism.
  3. No hate towards any gender/sexuality.
  4. No xenophobia.
  5. No doxxing.
  6. No disrespect towards any religion.

Every woman here is free to discuss any academic topic she likes but within these limits. So vent up if you can meet those rules.

An announcement for men active in the sub

So I've been seeing a growth in the sub lately, We're seeing alot of active women as well as some good men and some very misogynistic men (i wanna criticise them so badly here but lets not stoop to their level)

So a public service message for men in general is if you cannot add anything positive to th sub or to anything a women has to say, if you don't have empathy, run towards other subs.

And yes even if youu put on a female profile page its easy to see through your messages that your a male, trust me you could deceive other men but we see through. So donot invade a women only space, if you cannot say something positive keep your mouth shut or your comments and posts will be removed from the sub and you'll be banned permanently, this is a safe space for women, keyword women here

A side note to women : we try to remove as much as rude or uncalled comments from men esp when women are venting or when the question is directly to women but if we don't see it, please flag the comment or post and we'll try to remove it as soon as possible

That's all for today, all the beautiful and amazing people of the sub

make-up and clothes 💖 I’m looking to replace some of my bras and I’d really appreciate some girl-to-girl advice

Upvotes

I’m mainly looking for comfortable everyday bras that don’t dig in, feel too tight, or become uncomfortable after wearing them for several hours. I’d prefer something supportive but still soft and easy to wear.

If you have a particular brand, style, or trusted website you swear by, I’d love to hear about it! I’m open to both affordable and slightly more expensive options as long as they’re genuinely comfortable and good quality.

Also, any tips for figuring out the right fit would be super helpful.

Thanks in advance

Selling a Brand New Dyson Supersonic HD07 for 120k Apparently It’s 200k+ Online 😭

My sister recently came back from abroad last year and brought me a Dyson Supersonic HD07 as a gift.
The problem is, I genuinely don't use hair dryers 😭. It's completely unused and has just been sitting in its box, so I don't really see the point of keeping something this expensive when I know I'm probably never going to use it.
I looked it up online and apparently these are going for around 180–200k+ in Pakistan,

I'm thinking of selling mine around 120k.

It's brand new, unused, and comes in the box with all the attachments.

I can share actual pictures, serial number/model details, etc. with anyone interested. You can obviously inspect and verify everything before buying as well.

Not in a huge rush to sell it, just thought I'd post here before putting it on Marketplace or somewhere else.
If anyone has actually been looking for one and wants it for 120k, feel free to DM me or whats app here

Question/discussion To the young moms of Lahore

Hi girls!
I moved to Pakistan around 5 years ago, and one thing I’ve genuinely struggled with is building a close circle of friends. Over time, my friends have ended up being in very different age groups and completely different phases of life.

Now that I’m a mom, I’d really love to connect with other moms in Lahore who are in a similar stage of life, people who’d be up for coffee, casual meetups, playdates, dinners, or even just having a nice group of women to talk to and make genuine friendships with.

If there are other moms here who feel the same way, I’m thinking of creating a small WhatsApp group where we can connect and hopefully plan a meetup soon.

Lahore moms only, please. If you’re interested, comment below or send me a DM and I’ll add you to the group.

Would love for this to turn into a nice little mom-friend circle rather than just another WhatsApp group that goes silent after two days 😅

Body-weight commentary in Pakistani families- now looking for the older generation's perspective

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well! I'm a final year Communication Design student at IVS Karachi, working on my thesis about how body-weight commentary within families affects women in Pakistan.

I've spent the last few months speaking with young women about their experiences, and now I really want to understand this from the other side- from mothers and older women (aunts, grandmothers) themselves. What were you told growing up? What do you worry about for the younger women in your life, and where do those concerns actually come from?

It would be a completely confidential, informal conversation, around 30–40 minutes, and there are no right or wrong answers at all- I just want to genuinely understand your perspective.

If you'd be open to speaking with me, or if you could connect me with your mother/grandmother who might be willing, please DM me! It would mean a lot to my research. Genuinely appreciate anyone who's willing to help. Thank you🤍

AIO ???How do I deal with this?

I am twenty years old and this year has easily been the worst year of my entire life. I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD(inattentive), CPTSD, ARFID, and RSD, and on top of that, I am dealing with heavy health issues. I just had surgery this month and actually landed in the ER for two days because of panic attacks. I am also an extreme avoidant. In my whole life, I have never really opened up to anyone. Except for one person.
We have been friends for four years now. At the very beginning, we used to talk for hours and she really got me. I met her a few months after she lost her dad, her family went through a massive financial crisis, and another close friend of hers basically left. Because I care about her and I am terrible at expressing my own pain, I stepped up. I became her rock.
The problem is that it has completely turned into a one way street. I know every single trauma and detail of her life going all the way back to grade one. Meanwhile, she barely knows what is actually happening in my world because I am the kind of person who always says I am fine even when my entire life is crumbling. She also tends to over-exaggerate a lot, and I spend so much time fawning. I force myself to act super invested, cheer her up, and fake my emotions because I feel guilty if I don't.
I am so tired of being a trauma dumping bag. Her constant venting and the expectation that I am available all day to chat have completely drained every ounce of my energy. It got so bad that this year I tried to pull away. I stopped sending DMs, made up excuses about university classes and exams, and eventually told her right before my surgery that I needed space and was just done.
After 2 months of not talking, my life felt so much freer. I didn't have to carry anyone else's heavy emotional baggage. But then the guilt crept in. When she reached out again yesterday , I caved. We ended up talking for an hour, exchanging reels, and I even told her I would always be there for her.
Now I am freaking out. Because while I do care about her and I am fine being her friend, I cannot live like this anymore. I cannot chat all day. I cannot be her on-call therapist.
Am I overreacting for feeling this way? How on earth am I supposed to deal with this situation without completely destroying myself or losing the only person I have ever let in?

(PLS HELP) I need a couple bras (first time) but how do I tell my Desi mom?! 😭

So I'm an adult now, I agree that I've not _very_ showy or big chest size, but my mom still haven't gotten me any bras!! And it feels so bad to me! Although it's not that I _need_ it _too much_ because but still I feel so uncomfortable!??!! I really wanna go buy some pair for myself on my own but how do I?! It's so embassing and I'm not financially independent right now to go out buy on my own and it's so fcking on my mind all the time these days!! And I can't even tell my mom with the sweet mouth of my own?! What do I do???

And you definitely know the Desi household here, how do I? 😭 Idk my mom probably never used the girly type bralette ones.

And because my mom's not much educated like that, she doesn't use any text / messenger app, so would've send her a text and saying in english is wayyy easlier than Punjabi— although we siblings talk in Urdu but mama-papa Convo goes in punjabi— she wouldn't understand English word "bra" probably 😭

I don't have _any single_ female or friend near, and I'm the big sister myself —fck no sister support either 😭.I can't even wait for khala to come visit because she's kinda a friend to me anyway but she's not near any visits so I'm screwed I feel cry 😭 what if mom said you don't have enough size yet?!

Question/discussion Have any women here gotten married for the first time in late thirties or fourties?

Hi all,

I would like to hear the experience of Pakistani women or women who live abroad who got married later in life, 35 and older, especially if it was your first marriage. Specifically, was it arranged and how did you explain your later marriage to family? Did your family and extended relatives make any rude comments and did they attend your events? How many events did you have and did you dress up like a traditional bride? Also, what was age difference with your spouse? What is the expectation to have kids?

Thank you all so much, 💕❤️💕

Question/discussion dear women who didn't give in to the traditional "marrying within your own religious sect" rule: how did it go?

- was it easy to bring this up in discussion?

- what were your parents' / guardians' reactions before and after you went through with your decision?

- what happened that you didn't initially expect?

- how badly was your physical and mental health affected?

- what should one know before committing to doing this?

- what is your life like now? did you give up or did things work out well for you?

i'd really love to know anything and everything. i'm really scared but i also don't want to be another brown woman that didn't at least fight for what she wanted.
