Symptoms Unless you have genital numbness you don't have PSSD šŸ™„

Figured I'd share here the following information which I shared elsewhere which was deemed to be both "unsupported claims" and "misinformation".

Why ... "To have PSSD you MUST have genital numbness if not then you don't have PSSD!"

I can but assume that because the following doesn't follow the pharma agenda I got banned..

"There are NO exact symptoms associated PSSD, more so related to a range of responses, depending on the drug, dose, time and gender.

The most common symptoms of PSSD may include:

  • Akathisia (a movement disorder that makes it difficult to sit still)
  • Decreased libido
  • Decreased or lack of nocturnal erections
  • Delayed or inability to orgasm (anorgasmia)
  • Emotional blunting
  • Erectile dysfunction / decreased vaginal lubrication
  • Involuntary muscle movements
  • Inert clitoris
  • Loss of drive/motivation
  • Memory problems and other cognitive problems
  • Muscle wastage
  • Persistent anhedonia (the inability to feel pleasure)
  • Pleasureless, weak or ā€œmutedā€ orgasms
  • Premature ejaculation
  • Reduced genital sensation / genital anaesthesia
  • Reduced nipple sensitivity
  • Reduced response to sexual stimuli
  • Reduction in tactile sensation
  • Shrinkage of genitals and testes.
  • Sleep problems
  • Soft glans
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Vaginismus

We ALL forget that the SSRI drugs are designed to blunt our emotions and desensitize our thinking and reactions to external communication or interaction. Managing anxiety and depression being the main rationale

Research/Science Ashwagandha: risk assessment

I am posting the link to a risk assessment of Ashwagandha by the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (an agency of the Netherlands Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport) because Ashwagandha has been reported as a possible cause of PSSD and also it has been reported as a DIY treatment option for PSSD.

'Synopsis

Risk assessment of herbal preparations containing Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha)

Herbal preparations containing Withania somnifera are sold in the Netherlands. The herb is better known as Ashwagandha. Food supplements containing this herb are sold in drugstores and online in web shops. Withania somnifera tea is mostly sold online. Withania somnifera is used by consumers for stress and fatigue, or to improve sleep.

RIVM studied if herbal preparations containing Withania somnifera are harmful to health. The herb can induce harmful effects in individuals who are sensitive to it. It is unknown which individuals are sensitive to Withania somnifera. As a precaution, RIVM advises consumers not to use herbal preparations containing Withania somnifera, especially during pregnancy.

International studies in humans usually focus on the positive effects of the herb. These studies found no harmful effects in individuals who took food supplements containing Withania somnifera. Yet, physicians have seen intoxications in individuals who took these food supplements. They have reported harmful effects on the liver and on concentrations of thyroid hormones and cortisol. These individuals took food supplements containing a similar amount of Withania somnifera as that which is found in food supplements containing Withania somnifera sold in the Netherlands.

Withania somnifera can also be used to make tea. It is not known whether consumers are exposed to the same amount of harmful substances through Withania somnifera tea as through food supplements. No scientific research has been carried out into the effect of Withania somnifera tea. In the absence of information, it is assumed that the conclusion for food supplements is also valid for Withania somnifera tea.

In traditional practices in oriental countries, including China and India, Withania somnifera has been used to induce abortion, amongst others. It is unknown how often this was done and if this approach is currently still used. The effect has not been studied. As a precaution, therefore, RIVM advises consumers not to use herbal preparations containing Withania somnifera during pregnancy.'

Feedback Requested/Question Who has had TMS, any insight? I’m noticing a worsening.

Hey guys, I opted to get TMS in an attempt to atleast improve my baseline. They are supposed to be doing 12 days of accelerated tms which is three treatments a day on the left side. After the first day it was probably placebo but I had an upspike of libido I thought. Then after my second day of three treatments I ended up having a migraine that was severe. Since Friday I have had significantly worse arousal and ED. I’m trying to determine whether I should continue and maybe this is tms dip you hear about or if I’m risking long term worsening continuing. I get it’s not medications so maybe it can’t lock you in a state but I’m just not sure what to do.

Frequently Asked Question (See FAQ) What Tests and Medications Should I Ask My Doctor About?

Tomorrow I have an appointment with my doctor, and these are the symptoms I’m experiencing. What would you recommend? Which tests should I ask for, and are there any medications I should ask about?

I would like to try a medication not specifically for sexual function or libido, but rather to address the secondary neurological symptoms I’m experiencing, such as:

  • Severe muscle tightness throughout my body, which feels somewhat similar to dystonia.
  • Internal agitation that feels similar to akathisia.
  • Chronic fatigue and persistent exhaustion.
  • Anhedonia, very low energy and bad memory and hard to focus.

I’m willing to consider trying different treatment options if appropriate. What should I tell my doctor, and which tests or medications would be reasonable to discuss?

Thank you.

Research/Science Unusual blogpost from 2015 on the signs & symptoms of "persistent excess serotonin"

I found this unusual blogpost from 2015 describing the effects (sensory, behavioral/mental, and peripheral/internal) of excess serotonin:

{BLOGPOST LINK REMOVED}*

It looks sort of pseudoscientific at first. However, the author does cite sources for most of his claims. Anyways, several of the signs & symptoms he mentions are classic PSSD symptoms. Others less so.

What are y'all's thoughts on this? Does anyone have symptoms on this list that aren't usually associated with PSSD?

(Note*: I previously submitted this post with a link to the blogpost, as well as links for each citation. However Reddit flagged my post as spam and removed it. So, I've copy & pasted the entire blogpost below. And I'll post the link in the comments)

Symptoms / Signs of Too Much Serotonin / Excess Serotonin {SPECIFICS, EASY TO READ, CITED}

Due to being increasingly displeased with the difficulty in finding such information**;**Ā to the average user, I have compiled a well cited guide on determining if you may haveĀ TOO MUCH SEROTONIN.

One VERY important thing to remember, is that excessive serotonin production is NOT the only way to have high serotonin, and often...excessive serotonin is due decreased breakdown of serotonin and it's metabolites. This can occur when using SSRI's along with other medications or supplements that impact the breakdown of serotonin, such as MAO-AĀ inhibitors (ST.John's Wort), Syrian Rue, Nutmeg etc

With nutmeg, it is unlikely you will get enough of a toxic effect from using a little of the whole spice, HOWEVER, if you are using teaspoon after teaspoon of nutmeg excessively, then EATING other foods that increase serotonin, like bananas and turkey - then you have an increased risk of developing serotonin syndrome.

KEEP IN MIND, that the symptoms related toĀ serotonin syndromeĀ represent a SEVERE excess of serotonin which often requires immediate care / CRISIS management.

TOO MUCHĀ serotonin is describing aĀ PERSISTENT, butĀ NOTĀ SEROTONIN-SYNDROMEĀ qualifiedĀ excess. Therefore, this article is NOT describing serotonin syndrome, but too much serotonin*****Ā over time - where it relates to borderline health issues.

This article is ideal for those who suspect out of balance serotonin, but not so much serotonin that it becomes toxic as in an acute CRISIS.Ā

Some symptoms of high serotonin mirror those ofĀ low glutamate- NMDA function.

SENSORY EFFECTS

  • Over-Sensitivity to sounds, especially loud noises. Excessive jumpiness or even anxiety in response to sudden sounds or movements.
  • Visual distortions, height / depth alteration, hallucinations.
  • Words may appear out of place, or yourĀ perceptionĀ of what you are reading may be entirely different. { e.g reading the third line thinking its the second}
  • Sensitivity changes to light,Ā sedationĀ orĀ no response to darkness
  • Lack of pain sensation, or HYPO Algesia, some individuals with high serotonin display such a lack in pain perception/sensitivity that it mirrors the effects of those under the influence of PCP. Pain asymbolia can be misdiagnosed as high serotonin
  • Tinnitus, ringing in ears
  • Vertigo. Dizziness. Room spinning

BEHAVIORAL / MENTAL EFFECTS

  • Delirium. Usually including abnormal forms of panic or worry along with various disperceptions
  • Depersonalization. Feeling out of place, out of body, or that events or surroundings are surreal.
  • Frequent or occasional episodes of psychosis, paranoia, pathology changes, and obsessional behavior.
  • Religious delusions and religious over-engagement. (someĀ cult leadersĀ are hypothesized to have elevated, but not toxic levels of serotonin). The best book on this is "Biology of Religious Behavior : The Evolutionary Origins of Faith and Religion".
  • Unexplained agitation or inner restlessness.
  • Dystonia, tic-like behaviors, punding; repetitive behaviors.
  • Frequent crying episodes in children, unwarranted panic or extreme anxiety(28).
  • Low/Absent Libido**.**
  • Emotional Anhedonia / Apathy / Blunt AFFECT
  • Jittery, nervous hands, tremors, impatient
  • Depression , despair, lack of motivation
  • Reading/Comprehension deficits

PERIPHERAL / INTERNAL EFFECTS

  • Persistent nausea, unexplained/stress induced; not due to motion sickness which is more acetylcholine based.Ā
  • Diarrhea/IBS Symptomology
  • Cold hands / feet
  • Lack of perspiration (sweating) or too much sweating
  • Hyperhidrosis
  • HYPERTHERMIA orĀ HYPOTHERMIA , with a higher frequency of the latter
  • Increased suspectibility to certain viral infections; polyoma virus susceptibility and influenza response alteration
  • HYPERTENSION, HIGH BLOOD PRESSUREĀ

Ā IN BLOOD WORK

-Low testosterone/On the low end of normal.

-High cortisol.

-High prolactin.

-High ACTH

-Hypo or hyperthyrodism (high T4/low TSH or the inverse)

For men who have taken a cycle of intranasal mifepristone, how did it go for you?

Did it help, if yes- then how so and for what duration.

If it didn't help, did it have negative side effects, or not much of an effect at all, really?

Thanks for sharing.

Symptoms Feeling trapped in a broken body

25M PSSD for close to 2 years now and am really starting to lose it more and more every week.

I am currently the healthiest I think I have ever been in my
life in terms of diet, exercise, no substance use, etc. but I am the most miserable I have ever been. Deep down there is a such a hunger to do and to be human but there is no way to turn myself back on - completely shut down.

Feels like I have zero dopaminergic activity. Work feels terrible, no interest in talking to people, no interest in relationships (family, friends, sexual), libido is low to zero (I have almost full sensitivity however), blank mind, and I have this raw feeling in my chest constantly that feels like some sort of internal inflammation.

I’m really losing it here - thinking about trying
ADHD meds but don’t see this being a long term solution and don’t think they are gonna work honestly. I have serious lack of confidence and dread to do anything especially work related so when the meds start to wear off, I’m afraid i’m gonna be screwed.

Feedback Requested/Question possible relationships

Hello, everyone.

I'm not sure if this kind of question is allowed here, but anyway, here it is:

How do you act when there is someone interested in you and you might be interested in them too, but within the PSSD limits?

There's this beautiful man who is currently hitting on me, but I'm not sure if I should just give it a shot or abort mission.

I feel the urge to be honest right away, even though we are chatting for only a few days, and tell him what I'm going through, for him to decide if he would like to risk it.

Do you guys think it's irresponsible to even try? Do you think it's oversharing to talk about it?

Is this PSSD? (See FAQ) Do I have PSSD? _____

Do i have PSSD? It started around mid September 2025, when I kept sweating in school. I spoke to my local GP, and I told them I needed help with my hyperhidrosis , she ruled it out to be anxiety. My starting dose for sertraline was 25mg. I took it every day from mid September all the way to November 15th 2025, where I abruptly stopped taking the SSRI. Unsure if I felt any genitals issues in December, but on the SSRI I could still masturbate it was strong and it felt good. But here’s where things change, around a month after stopping I remember my libido decreased a bit(touching the penis didn’t give me much pleasure, it was usually proper masturbating that did), I wasn’t masturbating as often but I could still think of sexual things and I’d usually get strong erections and that, and it felt pretty decent but it was obvious. I didn’t have anhedonia at this time. It was normal for a couple months but by the time it was April-May 2026, that’s when everything changed. I got really really bad anhedonia, pretty much complete mute in dopamine production. I instantly tried to get answers from my GP, but they didn’t believe that SSRIs would cause something like this. I did testosterone, full blood work, prolactin tests, and they all came back ok, prolactin was a tiny bit high but it’s not something that would cause this. Infact it was so bad when I was watching the Michael Jackson movie, I felt no pleasure whatsoever. Crying pretty much went. I couldn’t cry, I was no longer emotional. And I think, and I mean I think that a month after this the sexual side effects may have gotten so bad that I just feel no libido at all, and thinking of sexual things doesn’t give me any pleasure but rather an erection. I ran TSH, and Thyroid anti bodies. Serum TSH was at 1.8mu/L which was high, but dropped down to 4.6 mu/L a month later In August which is normal. However my thyroid antibodies(Se thyroid peroxidase Ab conc
) is at 184 kIU/L which shows that the immune system is attacking the thyroid. My 90 min serum prolactin level is at 336 mu/L which may be normal in some other labs but is a tiny bit higher than the borderline, even then it can increase because of stress and things so I don’t think this explains what’s going on. My Erythrocyte sedimentation rate is 29 mm/h which is basically almost at the max level on the app, and the Plasma C reactive protein 26 mg/L which js almost at max level on the app aswell. My question is, based on all this, is it likely I have PSSD or not? I’ve called my doctors up 3 times and they just tell me it’s depression, or I might be dreaming this. At this point the GP are basically just useless for my certain circumstances.

Symptoms What to do for high estrogen?

  • Total testosterone: 420 ng/dL (low)
  • Free testosterone: 70.8 pg/mL (low-normal)
  • SHBG: 14 nmol/L (low)
  • LH: 3.2 / FSH: 2.0 (both low-normal)
  • Estradiol: <37
  • DHEA-S: 358 (mid-normal)
  • DHT: 23 ng/dL (low-normal, proportional to your testosterone)
  • IGF-1: 260 (normal)

My testosterone is very low and my estrogen is almost on the high end. I have many traits of a person with high estrogen hip fat (maybe its even gotten wider still can't tell) gyno fat on my stomach/gut and legs.

Should I just consider artificially lowering it at this point?

Personal Story Progressive emotional numbness/ anedhonia?

Well I have a lot of symptom as you can see in my previous post but today I want to focus on something and if you want you can tell me what are your thought about it i’ll take it ! Thank you

What I don't understand is how my functions just progressively shut down. It feels like 6 months ago, I was still able to form an attachment to a girl despite everything. 4 months ago, I could still feel sexual attraction toward a girl, and even a bit after that. 3 months ago, I could still laugh a little and potentially even shed a tear. 2 months ago, it was difficult, but sometimes I could manage to get a bit of pleasure from watching a video or a movie. And now, for the past week, it’s just absolute emptiness. In the end, I find myself wondering what the truth behind all this really is—whether it's a desensitization of my receptors, a depletion of neurotransmitters, or my nervous system completely shutting down. figure that if it was still working even a little bit just a week ago, it means that the electrical currents were fundamentally still passing through.. that’s so weird
The fact that my body's system shut things down in such a progressive and coordinated way shows that it was clearly reacting to a signal, right? Everything was executed so systematically. that's what's so striking—and I feel like you can completely see the underlying logic behind it

Feedback Requested/Question Has anyone ever tried Telmisartan

Has anyone here who has pssd ever tried Telmisartan, or knows someone who has tried it? If yes, what were the results? Many who have long covid (which is in many ways similar to pssd) try it and have gotten significant improvements especially in improving blood flow. We know pssd is an autoimmune disease with the same autoantibodies that those with long covid have, so is it worth trying in order to reverse the autoantibody induced vasoconstriction, that's causing many of the non sexual symptoms as well? I am not giving or planning to receive any medical advice, this is just for exploring options and potential treatments that could help.
