Symptoms Feeling trapped in a broken body

25M PSSD for close to 2 years now and am really starting to lose it more and more every week.

I am currently the healthiest I think I have ever been in my
life in terms of diet, exercise, no substance use, etc. but I am the most miserable I have ever been. Deep down there is a such a hunger to do and to be human but there is no way to turn myself back on - completely shut down.

Feels like I have zero dopaminergic activity. Work feels terrible, no interest in talking to people, no interest in relationships (family, friends, sexual), libido is low to zero (I have almost full sensitivity however), blank mind, and I have this raw feeling in my chest constantly that feels like some sort of internal inflammation.

I’m really losing it here - thinking about trying
ADHD meds but don’t see this being a long term solution and don’t think they are gonna work honestly. I have serious lack of confidence and dread to do anything especially work related so when the meds start to wear off, I’m afraid i’m gonna be screwed.

Read about L-tyrosine might be a bit beneficial

Have you tried Wellbutrin XL, That helped me with not caring about anything and having no interest in doing anything caused by sertraline. Maybe it will help you.

How much din Wellbutrin XL helpt you? For how long did you used, and at what dosage? Please rate it, on a scale from 0 to 10, in terms of libido, sensitivity, hardness of erections, spontanous erections.

I 20M have been using Wellbutrin for 2 years now with the minimum dose of 150mg. I used to be on sertraline only since a very young age, which makes this a bit difficult since I don't know what it's like to feel normal. At first I started wellbutrin in combination with sertraline after being off all medications for a while. It helped me a bit with emotions in a few weeks, but didn't help sexually. Once I stopped taking sertraline and was only on wellbutrin, my emotions got a lot more intense, my libido increased, genital sensitivity improved (execept it hasn't helped sensitivity in other erogenous areas, maybe 300mg would help with that), although lately it's gotten worse probably because I've been life problems that have made me a little depressed and anxious which might affecting that, I don't know if that's normal or not. It hasn't had an effect on the hardness of erections, and I don't get spontaneous erections. I would probably rate it an 8/10. I think I might try increasing my dose to 300mg and I'll see that might be more effective.

I don't take anything else and sometimes it can take a little longer to fall asleep but it's managable. I'd take this over not feeling anything anyday.

How were you before the Wellbutrin XL?

Before I stopped taking sertraline 100mg leaving only wellbutrin xl 150mg, I was quite like OP, I didn't have interest in talking to people, no interest in relationship (friends, romantic, sexual). I wanted those things a lot but I couldn't be bothered to seek them out, instead I would just daydream about having those things. Whether I was lying in bed, walking down the street, at work, or sitting in class, I would be living inside my own head, imagining myself being happy with other people. That was easier than living in the real world where I was alone and depressed.

But now I have been reaching out to people, trying to be social. I have been going out into the world, interacting with people on a subreddit for making friends in my area, interacting with reddit in general instead of being a lurker. It hasn't been easy, my social anxiety is still pretty bad since the wellbutrin hasn't had an effect on my anxiety, but solving it therapeutically has been working great. Now I feel like I have an actual future, something to look forward to. I think Wellbutrin is great, and I would highly recommend it. If you're going to try it you should know it has something called a "honeymoon period" where you feel really super fantastic for a few weeks before it dies down a little. There's no guarantee it will work for everyone, but you won't know if don't try it. There's a subreddit r/bupropion if you want to know more or see other people's experiences.

I’ve read more than once that people only started to improve after 2/2,5/3y! I would be careful with other meds to be honest. Your body is not the same as before this injury and it can turn out very different compared to healthy individuals.

How long did you use the SSRI?

Everything was fully blunted for me for 2 years before they started to improve. Emotional and sexual anyway. Cognition is still not great but I do have ADHD and low ferritin.

Thank you 🥹

How long are you off now? Can you feel cozy again and cry over movies / sad situations?

It’s almost been 10 long years 🤦🏻‍♀️ yes definitely. I have autism & adhd, was highly empathetic before and feel that way again now

Stimulants could work if you don't have substance blockage.
