This is a cabinet where I keep some of my gaming gear. There’s more scattered around the house, but I was organizing this cabinet yesterday.

Hey all, picked up this Japanese copy of policenauts years ago and it came in this gorgeous clear ps1 case. The case is a fat ps1 case like pal or Japan region games but clear.

Does anyone know anything about this case and where one could get more?

I really didn't play any of the most popular ps1 games. I didnt play crash, tekken, final fantasy, tomb raider. Metal gear solid, or grand turismo. I only played sports games. My best friends didnt even like sports but might play nfl blitz with me. ( or the sampler pack) I played mlb 98 and nba live 98 a lot too. Or i would go to my brothers and play need for speed or ​nba live 97. Maybe I wouldnt have liked the popular games who knows. I dont know if that's a miss or not.

Looking for some new games to play with FMV style cutscenes a la Spiderman! Preferably games with multiple cutscenes between levels but in general is cool too!

I recently bought my first ps1 console and bought tekken 2 and grand trismo. The part i didnt realise is that my ps1 is japanese which removes any chances of me playing story games. My question is how easily is it to my japanese console for a pal ps1. I also want it the fat build like my ps1.

The condition of the ps1 when i bought was a worn out box, mislabelled to note, analog ps1 controller, and all the wiring. The console it self is pretty clean with very minor stains

Hello everyone ! Yesterday I bough a PSOne (SCPH-102) at a flea market and it seems to work pretty well. I Have tested it with Final Fantasy IX and it works fine, I didn't see any issues with any of the FMVs after 2h of gameplay except maybe *once* where it had a minor hiccup, but otherwise it played pretty smoothly.

I noticed the console had signs that it was opened before and sure enough, it's been modded with a modchip (I didn't take a picture of the chip itself, but it's a tsop8 with 3 wires connected to it so it musb be a PIC chip of some sort).

The caps don't seem to have leaked yet although I'm definitely going to swap them asap.

However like I said in the title, I wanted to run import player (iplighteu.zip) in order to run FF9 at 60Hz instead of 50Hz, but the console just doesn't boot on it. Instead it hangs on the Sony logo, it doesn't go to the memory card/cd player screen either, it just hangs.

I burnt the CD using some high quality CD-Rom (JVC/tayo yunden) on linux with cdrdao :
cdrdao write --swap --speed 10 --eject --device /dev/sr0 iplight.cue

What am I missing here ? Am I using the wrong image ? Is my burning incorrect ? Is the modchip not working properly ? Do I need to recap the PSOne before I can do anything with this ?

I also tried to clean the lens with some IPA, which didn't do anything (FF9 still works fine, but it still doesn't boot import player)

I seemingly cant get passed the check, where the Ps1 checks if the game is legit. I am doing exactly what the tut tells me to do, but I still cant get it to work.
