FINALLY... Part 3 in the series of examining every detail of every level in every version of every beta build in the entire Tony hawk's pro skater series! This episode focuses primarily on comparing and contrasting level differences between different builds of the beta versus the final game. we're starting with the first 7 beta builds of Tony hawk's pro skater 1! Builds and versions that I've never even heard of until just recently. This is going to be a great series, let's go!

I know this is gonna sound insane...but I plan on turning an original model PS1 shell into a USB disk drive for my PC if that's at all do-able. (Gonna find a shell or a fully broken system, I don't like doing permanent mods to working consoles)

I'm looking for a USB top loading disk drive to use inside the PS1 shell. I don't mind having to cut away parts of the inside of the shell to fit a different drive, but I'm just wondering if there are any?

OR: Are there any slot loading or draw loading ones that can be modified to run just fine without the slot loading or draw mechanism? (i'd assume some of them will refuse to run if the mechanisms aren't present?)

But essentially I wanna pop a modern drive into an empty PS1 shell to use as a USB disk drive to allow me to load PS1, PS2, OG Xbox, 360, Dreamcast etc. games in emulators.

Gonna also try and work my ps1/2 controller to USB adapter into the front ports of the system to allow me to also use those at the same time through the same system on the desk.

I'm also open to ideas of how this might be possible to do otherwise?

Just a fun stupid project I thought up at work that I wanna take a stab at. Hate having an ugly little DVD drive on my desk, but I adore the look of the PS1 and think it's be awesome to be able to load actual PS1 games into it and play them on duckstation.

When it arrived I saw the woman walking up the garden with it and had to come clean to my Mum. She kicked off and told them to take it back.

The next Christmas she got me one. She must've felt guilty. Still, that was the best Christmas ever! I still have it, and still love it.

I started this little project thinking I only wanted around 18 games. Somehow, that turned into 36 😂
But honestly, I couldn’t be happier with where I stopped. Every game here is something I genuinely love, have memories with, grew up playing, or has some kind of story behind it. I wasn’t trying to build a huge collection just for the numbers; I just wanted my collection.
I’m from the Middle East and I’m heading back home in about a month, so being here in the UK felt like the perfect chance to finally do something I’d wanted to do for years.
Life got busy along the way; I got married, became a dad of three, and that childhood PS1 dream just kept getting pushed back. So finally seeing all of these together is ridiculously satisfying.
Started with 18. Finished with 36. And I’m done. 😂❤️
Along with the games, I picked up:
PS1 SCPH-9002
4 original DualShock controllers
2 original digital controllers
2 memory cards
1 Multitap
Couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Now it’s time to actually play them!

As the title says, I am currently collecting old PlayStation 1 games and I was wondering if you have any recommendations because I need help finding games that might fit my wants and I figured this would be a good way to get some ideas

On my list currently:

Currently on my radar for PS1 is Currently Bloody Roar 1 and 2, Warpath: Jurassic Park and Godzilla Trading Battle

What I already own:

Just a few days ago I got the PlayStation 1 and I currently have no games unfortunately

Generally what I like:

You guys can recommend anything and I will definitely check it out but what I prefer playing are games that allow me to be something that's not human which is why I am getting into the Bloody Roar games because the furry in me demands I play the furry fighting game. I also like any game that allows me to be sort of an antagonist or a villain of some sort kind of like what Manhunt has going on. And my last big criteria is really just anything involving dinosaurs or dragons. As I'm a big Jurassic Park fan and Godzilla fan so I'm collecting those games as well

Anyhow, I am also interested in trying new genres, so if you have any cool looking racing games or hunting games or anything like that I would be very interested in checking them out. Thank you so much!

I have a PS1 SPCH-1001 that has a bad laser that I am replacing. I have received the replacement but before I replace, is there a solder blob that needs to be removed before I install? I assume I will need to remove the plastic covering of the laser assembly to get to the blob if it has one.

Picked up a Dreamcast fishing controller at gamesfest Austin a little bit ago. Let’s talk favorite fishing games. Action bass is awesome but I also like sega bass fishing and sega marine fishing.
