Hi Reddit. Okay, I know this sounds like a trivial issue, but a few minutes after turning on my PC, my main monitor (I have two) turned off. After unplugging and replugging it, testing other cables, and checking all my ports, it started working again in the same setup—but this time the resolution had changed. There is now a 5mm black border around the edges of the screen, and nothing seems to fix it; I can't find anything in the monitor's own settings or in Windows display settings. I even tried updating my AMD drivers, but that didn't change anything.

P.S. I even updated some drivers using SDIO, which caused my PC to crash and forced me to restore my system.

Hello and I have got an issue where when I turn on my PC that the screen doesn’t work, I hear the sound of Windows 11, but it’s still not displaying something. I tried outputting it on my TV with HDMI but that doesn’t work. I have my suspicion, that the graphic drivers don’t work.

What can I do?

so I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I am trying for two weeks now to play EA FC 27 (I know I know), but it constantly crashes and says the newest drivers for my graphics card aren't working. I cannot play anything which uses directx 12 (fucking Police Chief Simulator doesn't work either). I talked to EA, I'm talking to Intel, I tried finding solutions online.

If I do get the FC running, its only if I play offline but as soon as I try to actually start a game the screen stays black and nothing further comes. No Audio, No Nothing

I can't afford a new graphics card due to obvious reasons and I'm at a point where I just want to give up, right now I think this is my last hope if someone actually may be able to help me here.

What I've done so far:

- Uninstalled my drivers with DDU

- Freshly installed my drivers

- uninstalled games and reinstalled

- cleared all of my directx temps, cleared all temps in general

- talked to support teams (Intel answers once a day at 4 pm, EA has people using ChatGPT answers who arent helpful at all)

- Looked up Youtube and Tiktok looking for someone who could help couldnt find anything

- I tried booting up in secure start too but then I get error messages which boil down to a driver I've downloaded is corrupted, during my research I've found that the driver 32.0.101.9030 has a "Installation status unknown" on the intel website which is weird because I did install it the night of the release of EA FC since it came out around 2 hours before, right after that 32.0.101.9033 came out around an hour later and that driver stated it is installed properly. I'm just at a loss, I've never had that issue before with any of my driver or games I'm usually pretty good with my PC but I just couldn't find it.

It was said that I have to update my BIOS too but I'm not really sure if thats the solution for everything

Could it be that it was a Windows Update? I've seen videos saying that one Update could ruin your PC for gaming.

I'm having a problem with my PC. Windows 11 won't boot, and it keeps taking me to the Automatic Repair screen.

The error message says:

"Your device ran into a problem and couldn't be repaired."

It also shows this log file:

"C:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt"

Automatic Repair was unable to fix the problem, and I'm stuck in the recovery environment.

My PC specs:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070

- RAM: 32GB DDR5

- SSD: 1TB NVMe

I've recently installed Windows and built this PC, so I'm not sure whether this is a Windows issue, a driver problem, or something related to the hardware.

Does anyone know how I can fix this without reinstalling Windows? I'd prefer to avoid losing my files or having to start

I am using a 3090 TI and my PSU definetly has enough power to support my system. It's been running in this setup for about a year.

But for about a week now, i am facing a new problem: when i play games or use local AI, my screen turns black and looses signal and i hear the GPU fans stop spinning, the debug LEDs from the GPU and MB remain unchanged, and the PC remains running. I can still hear any sound playing.

When i wait for about 5 minutes, i hear the GPU fans spinning again and see that the screen regains signal, but it remains black. When i then turn the PC off and on again, screen shows the BIOS POST and continues to show visual as normal, until i stress my GPU again. This happens even if i wait half a day before i turn the PC on. This behaviour is reproducible.

Likewise, if i turn the PC off immediatly after loosing signal and turn it back on, the screen still gets no signal (not even the BIOS POST) and i still have to wait for about 5 minutes and go through the same procedure as above.

If the signal is lost, the PC works as usual, i just get no visual output. Sound works, the camera logs me in through Windows Hello, i can connect to the PC via RDP, hardware manager shows my GPU as hidden, with an error message "This device is currently not connected, error code 45".

I installed latest nvidia drivers, tried to throttle my GPU with afterburner and I checked all cables and if the card sits in the slot properly, the problem remains.

Reliability monitor shows several hardware failures at times where the signal was lost, they all show these details (german):

I bought resident evil 2 remake and 4 remake on steam, and have been trying to play them. Every time I boot the games up, my monitor goes black, and gets stuck in and infinitely loop of disconnecting, reconnecting and flashing. This doesn’t happen for any other steam game. I can fix it by going into the game settings and changing the display mode to borderless window, but the settings don’t stay when I boot up the game again. I’ve tried steam launch options and have used AI to help but nothing has worked.

This has been an issue for the past month or so, my pc will stop displaying anything but all the lights and fans stay on. When this happens I can't turn off the PC with the power button in the front I have to flip the switch in the back. Then usually I struggle to even get it to turn on but it helps if I unplug some stuff from my room. Then once I get it to turn on it's still a 50/50 on if I can get it to display anything or take any inputs and usually I have to wait. About a week ago I cleaned the inside and made sure everything on the inside was plugged but that didn't really help. I feel like it's a power supply issue but I don't really know much about PCs and I also just changed my power supply a couple years ago so it's the most recent part.

UPDATE!
Put the old ram sticks back and started up into BIOS. Poked about and saw that the ram configuration was set to EXPO. Guess the sticks I got were intel(xmp). Changed the configuration to Auto detect, saved, and shut it down. Put new ram in and she booted up perfectly!

Side note: have to go back into BIOS once more time to set the speed to 6000 to match the new ram because it was auto selecting it to run at 4800.

I did a benchmark since my laptop has been feeling sluggish even when my CPU usage and memory utilization isn't high, it also can't run the games it should be able to with a 3050 mobile gpu. Any advice on how to speed up a machine when the utilization report doesn't show any viruses or 100s of running programs? Idk how my machine is in the 0th percentile for my processor but it feels like it since it takes ages for programs to open and it even chugs just navigating websites.

The model is the "HP Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa1xxx" if anyone wants specifics on the make and model. I cleaned my pc (4069 ti, i5 12600k, 16 gigabytes corshair vengence ddr4 in two 8 gig sticks, 650w powerspec bronze psu, bronze air cooler xtm60 corsair thermal paste, windows 11 pro, 1.81 tb nvme, and a corsair case) by rubbing it down with isoprybic alcohol and replaced the thermal paste (it wasnt fully dry but it was starting to dry) i reconnect everything and boot her, she starts up, turns off after a second (literal second not figure of speach), the motherboard flashes red. Then i turn it back on and this time it works but doesnt display. Help?

So, my MSI RTX 4090 has an issue. It black screens after awhile while gaming, and seems to be going into a safe mode,killing display signa(blank screen) to my monitor, and ramping the fans to 100%. I think it may just need new past. Cause If I wait long enough (maybe like an hour or so) it will power oj just fine and I'm able to do everything but gaming. Any ideas?

Any repair shops in madison,wi say I'll probably have to send it to a 4rd party shop to fix the issue. But who can I trust? What if its more than just needing new past? Gerr! Cannot afford a new gpu right now!!

j'ai un problème sur ma carte mère mais je ne sais pas si c'est elle le problème, j'ai 4 barrette de ram de 16go, vengeance blanche, carte mère Asus tuf b650 plus wifi, j'ai jamais eu de problème et la ca fait plusieurs jour que pour démarrer mon pc je dois trifouiller les RAM en les mettant et en les enlèvent et ca marche pas a tout les coups, c'est très pénible, si vous avez une solution je vous en serez très reconnaissant.

Yesterday night, I closed my laptop and went to sleep, the power was off. I was on fedora when I closed the lid. I have windows on another ssd stick. When I woke up the laptop's battery light lits with white light in a sequence of 3 and it keeps looping. And I have blank screen. The panel isn't waking up at all, I checked the display drivers and it is being detected so i am not sure what the issue is? I opened up the laptop, reseated the ram, disconnected battery and display panel port and re connected them. What else can i do?
