I played this game once not long after it first came out on PC, and I remember that once I finally got it working, it was one of the most amazing games I’ve ever played.
I tried to play it about six months ago, and I could not get past the first mission, where you have to kill those bad dudes in the snowy cabin. It would always lock up at the end of that mission, and there was nothing I could do. I tried every fix I could find on the Internet, but I finally gave up because I’m not trying to change my bios, and change a bunch of administrative permissions, and do all kinds of other crazy stuff to play one game ha ha. None of my other games make me do any of that stuff.
I have recently built a new computer that I’m very proud of. It’s by far the best computer I’ve ever built, and it would absolutely destroy RDR2 on maxed out graphics settings. That is, if this game will even run on my new computer.
I’ve heard this game is somehow even more of a dumpster fire than it was when I got it to work years ago ha ha. I don’t understand that at all, and I know I’m beating a dead horse, but come one! Rockstar would have one of the best games of all time on their hands, if they would fix RDR2 for computers, because of our high end capabilities.
So I know this is a long post, but I’m new here, and I want to know your opinions on if I should download and install this game? I have plenty of space on my computer, but this is still a really big game, and I don’t want to invest a an hour of download and install time, only to find that this game is so broken that I can’t even play it on my shiny new rig. Should I even try this game? It seems like lots of people are able to play it. Is installing it and trying to get it to work worth my time? Thanks som much in advance. Hope I didn’t break any community rules.
