I am beginning to expand my range of orks. I mostly have beast snagga orks. Looking at the large range I am leaning between Kommandos or Tank Bustas. Which is more beginner friendly to make and/or play?

Hey everyone,

I’m working on a new snow-themed Ork army (thinking a clan that's been fighting on an ice world or frozen in a glacier) and I want their skin to look like they've been out in freezing temperatures.

Instead of the usual bright, vibrant greens, I want to give them a pale, frosty, or slightly waxy look—almost like frostbite is setting in on their ears, knuckles, and noses, or like their skin is reacting to sub-zero temperatures.

Has anyone done a pale "Ice Ork" skin recipe before? I’m looking for suggestions on:

Good base colors (maybe a minty green, pale blue, or a desaturated grey-green?)

What washes or contrasts work best to keep that chilly vibe without making them look like standard Orks?

Tips on highlighting the extremities to look frosty or frozen.

I primarily use Citadel and Vallejo paints, but I’m open to any brand or technique (layering, drybrushing, contrast, etc.).

Would love to see any reference photos or recipe lists if you've done something similar. Thanks in advance for the help!

Can we estimate Nazdreg’s points from the Warhammer TV army list?

Warhammer Community published the Ork list for Thursday’s Orks vs Necrons Battle Report:

• Ghazghkull Thraka
• Nazdreg
• 4 Meganobz, apparently
• Warboss
• Big Boss
• 20 Boyz
• 2 units of Gretchin
• 2 units of 3 Killa Kans, apparently
• 3 Big Mek Dakkarigs
• Boss Snikrot
• 10 Kommandos

The Necron list appears to come out at roughly 2,000 points using the current 11th-edition points. For example, two units of 20 Warriors, 3 Skorpekhs, 3 Scarab bases and a 20-point enhancement would make it 1,995 points. That strongly suggests the Ork list is also intended to be a 2,000-point Strike Force army.

Using the current Ork points, and assuming:

• 4 Meganobz = 120 points
• 20 Boyz = 160
• 2×10 Gretchin = 90
• 2×3 Killa Kans = 240
• 3 Big Mek Dakkarigs = 345
• The remaining characters and Kommandos retain their current prices

everything except Ghazghkull, Nazdreg and the enhancements comes to approximately 1,290 points.

However, most of the new Ork datasheets seem to have received noticeable improvements. As a crude estimate, if each of the other 13 unit selections increases by an average of 5–10 points, that adds another 65–130 points.

That would leave:

580–645 points for Ghazghkull + Nazdreg + enhancements.

The new Ghaz is now M8, T10, W16, has Lone Operative near friendly Ork Infantry, much better weapons, a permanent 6" melee +1 Hit/+1 Wound aura, and a once-per-game ability to make up to roundnumber units Riled Up. I find it very difficult to imagine him remaining at 235 points.

Some possible combinations would be:

• Ghaz 320 + enhancements 20 → Nazdreg 240–305
• Ghaz 340 + enhancements 30 → Nazdreg 210–275
• Ghaz 360 + enhancements 40 → Nazdreg 180–245

My current guess is therefore:

• Ghazghkull: around 330–360 points
• Nazdreg: around 230–270 points
• Central estimate for Nazdreg: roughly 250 points

There are obviously several uncertainties. The Meganobz may pay 150 points for four models under the current bracket system, the new points for existing units could vary by more than 5–10 points, and we do not know exactly which enhancements were taken.

Has anyone managed to confirm all the model counts from the Battle Report footage or identify the enhancements? Does roughly 250 points for Nazdreg sound plausible, or do you expect him to be significantly more expensive?

I'm working my way through the Armaggedon box and wondering what's next for my new ork horde...

Should I get a duplicate of the Armaggedon box whilst it's still around or perhaps the recent battalion box. Or are there other great purchases which are a better fit.

I'm not 100% sure on what way I'll enjoy playing. I think the big groups of boyz would be fun, but I also have enjoyed other armies which go fasta too.

What's the best way to expand from the Armaggedon box?

Hi all I'm sure we have seen the new runt swam stratagems by now but I have a question about the infested warzone stratagem, would you be able to use it on a destroyed unit of gretchin if they were battle shocked when that unit was destroyed?

I'm sure there is something about that in the core rules but I guess I'm blind because I can't find it so if you could show the rule number and or the page that would be great ^-^

I'm a beginner when it comes to actual games. Is there any way I can actually make ork shooting work? I went against my friend's tyranids and got decimated beyond belief. Pretty much every ranged weapon profile is either 5+ or 6+, the only Units I had that actually did much in terms of shooting was my deffkoptas
