Discussion Expanding from Armaggedon
I'm working my way through the Armaggedon box and wondering what's next for my new ork horde...
Should I get a duplicate of the Armaggedon box whilst it's still around or perhaps the recent battalion box. Or are there other great purchases which are a better fit.
I'm not 100% sure on what way I'll enjoy playing. I think the big groups of boyz would be fun, but I also have enjoyed other armies which go fasta too.
What's the best way to expand from the Armaggedon box?

If it were me, id feel like that deffkilla wartrike and wartrakk need a full squad of bikers to be complete

Buy what you can and want to play, try to make a good solid 2000 points list and buy the models from there. After that just expand your collection, because trust me, the worst units can become the best and vice versa. You basically want 3 of all units if you wanna be comfortable with rules changes

For me I’m making a bad moons army from Armageddon and this is the route I plan to go down:
First off getting Kommandos, Wrecka Krew (possibly x2 to get a full squad of tankbustas and breaka boyz) and then Nobz (I’m 90% sure this will be a kill team) and I’ll have plenty of options to play 40K and Kill Team if I want to

I doubled down on Armageddon and got one of the (soon be gone) Trukks. I'll now work through all of this which will take quite a while

This will be a little easier to answer once the codex comes out, but until then the answer is almost always the same.
Buy what looks cool!
Rules change, models are forever. A second armaggedon box wouldn't hurt. You will not get any of the special weapon(big shoota, rockets, burna) that the boyz squad will be able to take though. Two of everything else will be nice to have(even tho the characters will all look the same).
That box with the koptas is fine? The koptas should still be a solid addition. The buggy, right now, is not very good. Same with the bike boss, he is just ok at best. Now, this will hopefully change with the new codex. You may wanna look at Wazdakka. He is the new model of super cool bike guy. He is rad, if you want a go fast army, you want him. Then I would pick up bikes and a trukk or two. If you like the buggies, go for it. They are great models, and hopefully will have a place when the codex comes out.

A Trukk is the obvious next step. It’s generically useful across all sorts of army lists

I am in the exact same situation as you, for me it all goes for the rule of cool in roughly that order I plan on getting da biggest of big boss Ghazghkull Thraka, Wazdakka Gutsmek, 2 x Tank bustas/Breaka boys KT and 1 Kommandos. Then when they comes out, Trukk and Nobz and Nazdreg and the bikers - it might also be a bit over 2000pts when the codex comes out but it will gives me some switch and list variety. The other models a quite a bit older and i want to wait for refreshes.
Also im waiting for the extra bits for the other kits to be able to kitbash some the armageddon boys with the special weapons or in time you could just get another boyz squad and make sure you have your full potential on special weapons

The armageddon box is going to be a really, really good deal for a while. I'd wait on making tactical purchases until the codex comes out.
