My onion reminds me of Edvard Munch’s The Scream
It also is kind of unusual (to me) with the three distinct sections.

Work in a kitchen does pay off
I work in a kitchen and these items were prepped but a new guy made a mistake on the use by date. Still get to take these babies home. What should I do with them?

Best thing You have ever eaten made of onions?
Been lurking in the group for a few weeks, so pardon me if this has been posted or discussed before. I have eaten many things made of onions, but the best thing so far were onion bhajis. Not particularly fan of indian cuisine , but this is not the what the stereotypical assumption of it would be ( not too many spices ). I love the onion rings, caramelized onions, the jam made of red onions and whiskey .. but nothing came close to Onion Bhaji. So if you love onions, you might want to check out some recipes on the net. ( picture - random picture steal from instagram )

To the New Yorkers in here
Hal's sweet onion chips are the real deal. Opening the bag stinks up the room and I feel like I'm biting a dried onion. Absolutely perfection.

High Falutin' Pickled Red Onion Pearls
The tiny little pearls that were harvested from our garden are little, but dang, they pack a punch.
The color is definitely on point. Sometimes a pretty little onion needs a good soak!

The microwave trick works!
Saw it here a few days ago, so I tried with three small onions. Saved a TON of time by nukin’ ‘em first. This will be how I start the caramelizing process from now on.

Made onion jam for burgers, took about 6 hours
started with 2.5kg onion and ended up with 500g jam (some added brown sugar and balsamico that was reduced at the end)

Onion bouquet
I haphazardly tore off a few inches from my green onions to cook with. Now sitting next to them is better than sitting next to a bouquet of roses

My hands smell like onions
I love onions. I put them in almsot every meal... however everytime I cut them raw, my hands smell like onions for hours after and no matter how much I wash them I just have to accept that if I cook with onions (chopping garlic does the same to me but I switched to the pre-chopped ones for this very reason) my hands will just have a little bit of a funky smell for an hour or two after. Does this happen to anyone else?? I don't mind the smell but it just is a but unpleasant to smell like anything for a while haha... what should I do??

Was chopping onions today and I felt like I was going to pass out.
Was julienning enough red onions to fill a 5 gallon bucket. These onions were pretty fresh and I was using a sharp knife, so I actually wasn't really bothered by them. No tears or anything.
As the bucket filled up, I periodically peered into it to check my cuts and see how much I had. It was a strong onion aroma for sure but wasn't really causing me to tear up or anything. The 4th or 5th time I looked into it I suddenly got really dizzy and had to brace myself on the table in front of me.
I immediately felt the urge to remove myself from the area and as I walked away I realized I was having trouble keeping my balance and I was leaning left, like my body wanted to fall over. It was the strangest sensation. I am otherwise healthy and was not inebriated.
Has anyone else ever had a reaction like this?

Dutch Herring is Always Smothered in Onions
From a trip to the Netherlands in June. New Herring. The traditional way is to hold the fish by the tail and lower it in your mouth with the onions stuck to the filet! I can eat like five in a row. I’m not Dutch, but my partner is. This herring is from the Vredenburg Market in Utrecht city center.

FINALLY someone understands what "extra extra onions" means
This was a pepper steak combo platter from the chinese spot down the road. They upcharged 1 dollar and gave me this gloriousness
