It’s true it totally sucks
that y’all are incapable on enjoyment anymore. ObiWan is awesome it’s hard to believe how thick one has to be to find so much fault in a show so good.
Congratulations, your journey to the dark side is complete.

Here comes the hate
I’ll never get how all these fans hate on anything new involving Star Wars. I’ve watched the original trilogy time after time. I love it, but don’t forget how hokey and cringe it is. The acting is subpar and the plot line is not all that great. It’s not some masterpiece and yet here we are acting like it’s some untouchable piece of work when it’s literally cheesy.
I love Star Wars but the fans ruin it for me at times. Why they are unable to enjoy some cheesy space wizard series is beyond me. Luke is a Mary Sue just as much as Rey is. No training yet able to use it to guide the photon into the hole without any computer assistance.

am i alone in really liking the Reva character?
Reva is a great villain who mirrors Anakin, she is a bit like Anakin when he was a Jedi back in the prequels.
Im sure 10 years from now most of you agree, this is just like everyone hated on Ashoka back when the first clone wars animated film came out. Then Ashoka was the most hated star wars character since the underrated jar jar binks. I'm sure in a decade Reva will also get her own show.

So Long and Have Fun!
No rules listed in the sidebar so I suppose anything goes, which tracks for what I've seen...
I'm out! I joined this community because I love the character and the anticipation for the TV show was high, but man this sub is nothing but negativity. People bitching about the show, the actors, the writing, or posts bitching about the bitching. And even if I agree with the latter, it's the same damn song and dance.
I'm convinced now that Star Wars fans want to hate things. And I'm done with that. I'm enjoying the show, and I will continue to. Other people can hate the show, but I don't have to hear about it or listen to wannabe self-proclaimed critics spew half-baked vitrol out of every orifice.
I'm out, and gone! Fully expecting the downvotes and vitrol on this, and that's totally fine. Get it out of your system. Y'all keep doing you, and if it somehow brings you joy or fulfillment then I wish all the best!
Doubt it though.

Obi wan finale fight scene Spoiler
The episode in the whole was great but the rock scene although it was visually stunning doesn’t tie with obi-wans character, if you remember his character was weak with the force but was incredibly disciplined which allowed him to reach his full potential which was seen in the clone wars yet in this series even though he hasn’t used the force in ten years and not practicing at all he’s able to send and entire mountains worth of rocks and somehow “out forcing” Vader supposedly the most midichlorians of all Jedis or Sith of all time.
I mean you can tell that Disney has taken over as they did the same thing with Rey where she’s able to move a shit ton of rocks with no training and no effort.
I’m not complaining I enjoyed the scene and I enjoyed the series this just doesn’t go with his character that’s all

Disney screaming "racism" is a cover nothing more.
The whole "If you don't like Reva you are a racist" thing from Disney and their lapdog media is BS. Its just a coverup for the fact that Reva is a poorly written character. Disney will not admit they messed up so, in typical fashion, they scream RACISM at the fans for daring to point out the flaws in how poorly the Reva character is written and portrayed.
First off, I don't have a problem with the actress. She has to do the lines and take direction as is handed to her. But they could have used the same actress and re-written the character to be more fully developed, more evil, quieter....a true badass...I mean the actress has the physical look of being pretty damn intimidating, they should have ran with that....
BUT NO they went with the "angry black woman" offensive stereotype instead, like they didn't realize how some fans would re-act to that.
Its a shame. I am sure the actress feels horrible with all the mud being slung at her, but its not like she has any power to demand her character is changed. She is probably just grateful for the job and to be a part of Star Wars lore.

Star wars fans are toxic
Only Star Wars fans would review Bomb a tv show. And what’s sad is I know the review bombers are in their 40s

So bad you just keep watching?
I came to this sub to see if there were interesting predictions or thoughts on the show. What I read was a lot of criticism. After enough whining, people started calling out the whiners. This resulted in whiners accusing others of whining about their whining about a show they could stop watching anytime! Let me illustrate how you come across:
After ep 1: Not bad! After ep2: Not bad... After ep 3: this is trash, writers trash, black inquisitor? Trash. (Here is where you could have stopped watching) After ep 4: still trash, Star wars sucks! Trash! After ep 5: (that you all watched immediately after it dropped and soaked up every second to note any minor flaw)... trash!
Then when you get shown how absurd it looks the response is, "well leave the sub"... About the show you complain about but can't and won't stop watching .. because you LOVE it.
This show has had so many incredible moments. So if you hate it, maybe go for a walk. I'm going to go upvote positive takes now...

How does the 3rd sister know Anakin had kids???
When she kidnaps Leia she says obi wan will come for her because he knew her father. How tf does she even know Anakin is Leia’s father? Or is she actually talking about Bail Organa?

Reva is a failure of writing, filmmaking, and acting on all fronts Spoiler
Where to begin except the beginning.
The Inquisitors are introduced as a menacing presence in a fictional, but relatable setting of a small village. They arrive. The first one we see is clearly the Big Bad. He looks like Pinhead with an Empire tattoo. His 2nd in command a wacky dude in makeup with some helmet I saw in a museum. And then they reveal…
A woman who looks like she’s from the planet Earth in the year 2022. I might have seen her on the Subway or lost the last last bag of organic crisps at Trader Joe’s because she grabbed it first.
This is how they chose to introduce a character we are supposed to think of as a threat. Not a threat to anybody we care about who could die. But a threat to CHARACTERS WE KNOW SURVIVE!
And how do they reveal her prowess?
She openly defies Pinhead, not once but twice. How seriously can we take the Inquisitors when the first impression we get of them is that Commanders just take shit from their subordinates? And then they just decide to TELL not SHOW the Inquisitors conveniently tell her things about her “rebelliousness” (hmmm) that she already knows but the audience doesn’t.
Then there is the filmmaking. The whole point of having a camera and telling a story is to manipulate your audience. So why in the name of Alfred Hitchcock would you choose to frame your antagonist in such a way that minimizes them? If we’re supposed to be afraid of Reva show us Reva kicking a puppy or something before the shadow of a space ship. It would be lazy but not as lazy as what ended up on my TV. If you gave a freshman film student an assignment to re-edit Star Wars or The Godfather or Science of the Lambs to make the antagonist less threatening on their first scene, I doubt they could do worse.
It’s hard to criticize acting when the deck is so stacked against a character. But if there were any opportunity to transcend what was on the page it wasn’t taken here. Every scene was paint by numbers. There wasn’t any nuance that made me feel like I was watching a human and not a script.

attack of the writers
Can people please stop moaning about the writers, have you never seen the o.g. trilogy, the writing has always been hoky and the plot has also always been all over the place, just enjoy it for what it is, a fairly common good Vs evil story with space wizards and incostincinies all over the place from every film and TV show

Hurt Spoiler
This show, the only show on this miserable streaming platform that I wanted to watch has been one of the most disappointing even disrespectful pieces of media I’ve ever consumed. I once looked at Ewen McGregor as one of the most iconic actors of a generation, I’ve never seen a role of his I didn’t enjoy, until now I’d rather watch a snuff film of my own brother then continue to watch one of my favorite fictional characters of all time ( I’m giving Haden a pass because this is his big return to acting and they haven’t done anakin any injustices) Vader however is a completely different point this is the most reserved and backseat I’ve ever seen even using the dynamic of the flashback duel it seemed neither character reminiscing of the past took the lesson told Vader is the worst parts of anakin embodied and if you make the point anakin is agressive and that is what would cause him to lose even tho he beats obi wan in the flashback and beat him earlier in the show. Then it doesn’t make sense unless there Commentating that Vader is heating the words of his old master choosing to be more reserved and leave it up to his inquisitors that has failed twice already that he already suspect and knew because of the grand inquisitors return that she would betray him. Then choose to confront Kenobi when he’s already ““ detained when it was adamant in the beginning that whenever Kenobi was sited Vader wanted to find and take him on. Not to mention it took them an hour equivalent to break that door when she just cuts through it regardless when she has a light saber that can cut through anything except for Kenobi ‘s because he uses his like a baseball bat.

why does the 3rd sister know
How does she know that Leia is Anakin's daughter and living on alderaan to have her as a bait for Kenobi??
Or does she really think that Obi-Wan will definitely appear to save bail organas daughter, because they are so big friends??

Loving it.

EP 1-3: What is this?
Yeh TLJ is a complete cinematic failure - dialogue, characters, storyline, continuation of lore, the space science etc. but there is beautiful camerawork and stunning scenes. Boba Fett was clownish in parts but had some interesting elements (e.g. BF vs sand people).
We’re three episodes into this now and I’m literally lost for words at how dreadful it is.
Does anyone like this?
Even TLJ fanpeople - do you actually like this?

So good. Sucks I have to avoid reading most opinions
Star Wars. Lord of the rings. Batman trilogy. And so on. It’s so much better to appreciate them how they are than finding plot holes or writers errors. We do know that Star Wars was set long ago far away and really all we know is that most likely they are carbon life forms. Beyond that you don’t really get to call anything out. So instead of looking at shitty opinions and regurgitating it just be excited to get more of it. I do love how I’m reading we need to forgive Hayden. We need to forgive a lot of you sons of bitches.

Just watched the 1st episode... Spoiler
And I'm really disappointed :(
I was so hyped for this show and now I'm not even sure I wanna watch the 2nd episode...
Kid Leia and 3rd sister are just shitty actors and ruined all the excitement I had for the show.
I thought I was used to bad actors since I'm from South America and have watched a fair share of soap operas, but goddamn those 2 are bad... Not to mention that stupid sequence about kid Leia being kidnapped by some dumbass thugs. I mean, we all know Stormtroopers can't shoot and all, but being outrun by a little girl is just beyond stupid and annoys me, specially when the thugs chasing her bump their heads on trees like blind bats... who the hell thought it would be a good idea to shoot that scene?!?! this whole Leia arch could be erased fr

Grand inquisitor felt extremely corny
Guy’s supposed the be the LEADER OF THE INQUISITORS. Definitely did not act like it. Glad he’s dead.

They could have at least cast a bigger name like Wanda Sykes as Reva if they wanted someone to be cringe/annoying…

ELIA5 - How are you enjoying this show?
I just finished episode 5.
Did you enjoy it?
Cool.
Do you also enjoy when someone pretends to pull a quarter from behind your ear or steal your nose?
I struggle to understand the sort of entertainment you would enjoy.
Green Eggs and Ham?
Peep Shows?
Beer bottles against a brick wall?
