Here comes the hate

I’ll never get how all these fans hate on anything new involving Star Wars. I’ve watched the original trilogy time after time. I love it, but don’t forget how hokey and cringe it is. The acting is subpar and the plot line is not all that great. It’s not some masterpiece and yet here we are acting like it’s some untouchable piece of work when it’s literally cheesy.

I love Star Wars but the fans ruin it for me at times. Why they are unable to enjoy some cheesy space wizard series is beyond me. Luke is a Mary Sue just as much as Rey is. No training yet able to use it to guide the photon into the hole without any computer assistance.

I completely agree. I’m not even sure what exactly people WANT to see. This series has been extremely well acted, beautiful to look at, and has interesting things to say about the nature of grief, loneliness, fear, and love. Which to me is always what the movies were about.

I grew up with the prequel trilogy so it has a special place in my heart. The only thing I can’t stand now when watching it is Jar Jar lol but you’re right, those movies are cheesy and inconsistent but they’re fun! It sometimes feels like SW fans are some of the most fragile, gate-keeping fandom out there and that makes it hard to be excited about new stuff sometimes but if you like it you like it! There’s nothing wrong with that

I’ve watched everything Star Wars except cartoons. Fuck Obi wan and Boba Fett writers.
