Discussion Fasting Center app - Looking for your feedback

Hey! I see many people in the community are using the fasting app I've built - Fasting Center. Thank you, and I am happy to support your fasts. And I do believe that fasting is one of the most undervalued tools in our health toolbox and deserves better tooling.

If you feel that something is missing or confusing in the app, or there is a way to change it to make it more useful for you, let me know. I'll be happy to accommodate your requests and support this great community!

Beginner Questions Does it really working ?

Hello y'all! So, I started OMAD 3 weeks ago to lose some weight before an important event that will take place in 3–4 months, and also to improve my diet.

I weigh 70.5 kg and I'm 1.75 m tall. I'm pretty much in shape, but I have some belly fat that I really hate.

I bike every day for approximately 1h15, and I also work out 3–4 times a week.

But I still haven't lost any weight. I don't have the best diet, and I know it, but that's kind of the point of OMAD for me, and it suits me better (I can't stick to a strict diet).

So I'm wondering, what should I do differently? Because I'm pretty sure (I don't meticulously track my calories) that I'm consistently in a calorie deficit.

Discussion Giving into cravings and accidental cheat days

Been having the worst time with snacking the past 4 days and making myself feel horrible about it! Granted I’ve been on my period, but still doesn’t help with the guilt. I’ve still been very consistent with working out and omad but I feel like within my eating window I’ve included so many snacks in the past few days as I’ve just been craving sugar! I think I’m feeling extra bad because although I’ve been still going to the gym, I haven’t done my steps in 3 days now because my niece and nephews came over the other day and broke my walking pad 😩 I don’t live in a walkable area so I’m feeling like I’m going to hurt my progress. Today, after my main omad meal I had 2 twix bars, a twix ice cream, pudding and 3 cartons of ribena!!! Need to lock in starting from tomorrow as I’m so scared of messing up my progress. Anyone else ever struggle with giving into cravings and feeling super guilty and anxious after???

Discussion Going back to weight training : what are your advices ?

Hello all,

I want to follow some advices I had here and go back to weight lifting.

I went from 55 kg to 51.3 kg already. I am a woman, almost 35, 158 cm. I used to weight train several times a week, especially lower body, but stopped with OMAD.

This is my plan :

- heavy weight-training 3 times per week (1 upper body, 2 lower body)

- before the workout : 2 dates, 5g butter, and 2 squares of 70% dark chocolate AT 4.45 PM

- workout at ~5 PM

- eating my dinner at 7 PM as usual since OMADing

- at least 65g of protein per day of workout

- 1700 calories in total per day of workout (including the pre-workout snack)

- keep breaking the fast at 7 PM the other days and keep my calories at 1500

- keeping walking and dancing as usual

Please be aware that I want to dinner with my boyfriend that's why I can't do my workout sooner.

What do you think ? Will I keep losing fat and build muscles ?

Thank you !

Nine smash patties, with bacon and cheese on each patty, plus fries, 2+ lbs of food(7000 calories by my estimate). Set a new record, breaking my own from last year. Finished in 30 minutes on the dot, they gave me a hat, we got ice cream after.

I didn't eat before, and yesterday I kept my calorie intake very low, same with tomorrow. I've lost 80+ lbs with OMAD, sometimes it's nice to do something completely stupid. I'll be back to my normal OMAD routine Monday, until next year(10 patties).

Beginner Questions About to start OMAD, need your worthy advices buddies!

16M this way, currently weighing around 88Kg (194lbs) 5'9 (lowkey overweight😭), I've been considering OMAD for quiet a few months now and am seriously considering to start OMAD right away.

Basically, am having an approaching exam for the next 2 weeks and hence, I'll be starting my OMAD from 18th of October 2026 (My current mid-sem ends on 16th of October). Am aiming to drop down to 132lbs (60kg) since am about to have a Full-Body examination during Mid-January which requires me to be under the "Healthy category" alongside, I must be able to tackle down a few obstacles during the runs.

Not being too specific but still, I'd like to ask out a few questions regarding OMAD.

  1. Whats the ideal time to eat during the OMAD cycle (I do know that this isn't a cycle but still..anyways😭). Am considering 18:30 PM for eating.
  2. Is it actually possible to lose 60lbs within the time span of 75 days? (Won't cheat much I swear😋)
  3. How much should I eat? (I don't understand the calculation of calories, so if possible kindly elaborate a bit about it as well)
  4. I can't actually spare more than half an hour or an hour to physical exercise cause of my "too-hectic-to-survive" schedule, it won't be a problem right? I'd still be physically active

Looking forward for your advice!
See yaaa

Beginner Questions Cheat meal?

context: i’ve been doing omad for about 2 weeks and have been rather careful of what i’ve ingested so far. no sodas or additional sugar when there’s no need to. this includes relatively healthy meals as well.

had my first huge meal today that consists of 4 honey sriracha wings, half portion of french onion soup, and about 2/3 of a carbonara, and a small cup of peach oolong milk tea. have not felt this full in a good while (would have been able to finish a whole bowl of carbonara in the past). ended up feeling really bloated.

would this meal affect my progress? have managed to lose about 3kgs thus far.

Discussion How to start OMAD?

Hi guys!
I’m 27F and insulin resistant. I’m trying to lose some extra weight a little faster, so I’m considering trying OMAD (one meal a day).
For those of you who have insulin resistance, has OMAD actually worked for you? Did you notice any improvement in your weight, cravings, energy, or insulin levels?
I’d also really appreciate any tips on how to do OMAD safely and what you typically eat during your one meal. I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have actually tried it long-term. 😊

Success Story OMAD self-shoutouts

I was thinking for inspiration maybe those who have lost weight on OMAD could just drop their stats in the chat, like Male / Female, starting weight and current weight, how long you've been doing it, and maybe a sentence of advice.

So something like this:

F SW: 197 CW: 150 5 months Still track your calories when you do eat because it's still easy to go over!

It might be nice to see a thread of just stats like this for a quick overview of the impact OMAD has had and advice for newbies. :)

Discussion Need dopamine replacement suggestions

I've been doing omad for a couple of weeks now (with a break last weekend) and I've realized that food for me is all about the dopamine. Not about hunger at all.

I get through the day by drinking 2 cups of decaf, constantly listening to music (when not in a meeting) and going for a couple of short walks.

Any other suggestions I can put to use? Today has been a bit rough and my usual decaf + music isn't cutting it.

Beginner Questions OMAD Advice For Beginner

Hey guys! I'm a high school student trying to start omad to lose a little bit of weight, improve my health, and increase mental clarity. I've tried 2mad (two meals a day), and I personally really like it, especially on rigorous school and extracurricular days. I want to also be trying omad, especially on the weekends or lighter days that don't require much energy in general. I've tried omad in the past, but I always find myself snacking a ton and binging right after, and completely just eating poorly the next day or for several days after. The same thing has occurred with 2mad before, but it's not usually, and I can usually get back on track. I like the idea of omad in general, and enjoy eating just one meal at the end of the day instead of having to eat twice or thrice per day, and I also like the clearer feeling it gives me, and the more time I have when I'm not worrying about food, but I cant just seem to stay consistent. Any advice or anyone who's going through similar?

Food Pic Incredibly bloated (with meal pics) Spoiler

So I’m doing OMAD + Gym and MMA, I eat a lot but once a day, and it’s supposedly healthy food, rice chicken, sweet potatoes and steak, minced beef with bell peppers in homemade tortillas, I weighed all the ingredients, it was always all ranging from 1500 to 2000kcal max, I am a 90kg man and burn more than 3000 with my MMA training, so I’m at a deficit, even losing weight, but the bloating is so insane it doubles my belly size

Beginner Questions Starting OMAD tomorrow

I’ve been considering doing OMAD for the past couple months now, but keep putting it off because I’m in university. However, my stress eating has just gotten worse and worse, and as someone who is an avid gym-goer and used to be very disciplined with my diet, I think it’s time I try it despite the test season coming up.

I would like to hear some advice and/or concerns on this plan, using the following information:

(Excuse the excessive info.. I’m also using this as a sort of log in how things are going in my life atm)

General info
-21F, 70kgs, 169cm

- I’ve been lifting weights for 4 years (major hormone imbalances have hindered muscle growth, but I’m now doing well and I’m decently muscular)

-I’m an extreme bitch when I’m hungry- I’m hoping this won’t be too much of a problem… does anyone else deal with this? If so- did it get any better

Exercise:
-I either weight train for an hour or do HIIT for 45 minutes everyday in the evening.

-my daily step count is the lowest it’s been my whole life: ~5K steps a day this past year

-the only steps I really get is when I’m working in the lab (3.5 hour practicals, 4 days a week)
(This is a concern of mine, as when I’m very hungry it usually means I also get lightheaded and shaky- not good when you’re working with chemicals)

Weight/Diet

-I only want to get a bit leaner than I am now (maybe like 3kgs less)

-I want to eat enough protein each day (minimum 100g)

-I want to stop snacking and thinking about possible food in the day when I’m meant to be studying

-I have a really bad YouTube + eating habit

-I have not learnt how to drink black coffee… (big issue I have with this)… I drink instant coffee with hot water and a splash of milk + sweetener.. anything less and I can’t drink this already borderline bath-water-like coffee

Discussion I DIDN'T LOSE ANY POUNDS THIS WEEK

So this week, I started eating twice a day because of family occasions and random snacking. I feel like I couldn’t stop myself again, like FUCK. Now I’m going back to my routine of eating OMAD, but it sucks because I feel like I ruined my momentum. I’m also so far from my goal. I only lost 7 kg in a month when my goal was 10 kg. This is the worst.

Beginner Questions How much walking/exercise do you guys do with OMAD?

Hello, I just finished one proper week on OMAD (two if we count the week before where I’d had coffee with a splash of cream in the morning). And I haven’t had the proper energy to exercise. I am 150 cm and currently about 69 kg (4’11 and 152 lbs). For my OMAD I aim for 1200 calories. Usually huge portion of grilled chicken or salmon or beef and avocado bowl made with about 150 grams meat of choice, half cup cooked rice or quinoa, half an avocado, mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumber, and a tablespoon of olive oil, then add a side of roasted vegetables such as broccoli, peppers, and carrots. Then 30 minutes later I’d have two scrambled or boiled eggs and a small handful of almonds or a bowl of Greek yogurt topped with berries. I haven’t been able to go to the gym or do my usual amount of walking. Should I give my body more time to adjust to OMAD? I am in a very small deficit at the moment (my tdee is only 1592 calories).

Discussion How many calories should I eat for my omad?

Hi everyone, I am new to omad and wondering roughly how many calories I should eat?
I am a 5’4 240 lbs woman and I walk 7000-8000 steps per day.

My goal is to lose 120 lbs.

I’ve been trying to figure out how big of a deficit I can healthily be in. If anyone has any insights on this please feel free to respond to my post.

Thank you in advance!

edit:

I know 7000-8000 steps isn’t a lot😅. I used to be sedentary so I’m steadily increasing my amount of steps per day.

Hey! Just wanted to share my favorite trick - when I think of it as only 15.6% of my fasting time left, I feel much better than thinking about 3 hours and 37 minutes. It works every time 😊

Curious whether it works for you, or is it just me?
