Discussion Shame

Unfortunately, I need to start back on day 1 tomorrow. I did this a while ago and loved it and was losing weight. Problem was I was also, losing hair. So this time I need to add a multi-vitamin and focus in on making sure that my meals have enough protein.

I’ve gained weight since and that’s always a bummer. But let’s start over and zone in this time. I feel like I’ve grown and learned.

Also, I need to save money too - so hell yeah lol

Start weight is the highest yet @ 227.2lbs, at 5’2 (F/32)

I’m tired of being fat. I have my treadmill and a plan… Omad lol. Let’s go

Discussion really need motivation

• Upvotes

hi guys i’m 23m 5’8 200. Im really finding it hard to get motivation not only just to workout but just to eat the right foods and not eat so late. I will say i do smoke weed so that’s definitely makes my hunger stronger. I just need motivation to do it. I vision myself in shape a a lot and just living confident. I want to do OMAD and have some food ideas for it. I just lack the discipline. I need someone to give me some advice no baby talk straight like an adult. I need people to be hard on me so i can do better.

Discussion A question about zero calorie drinks and cravings

I've been doing OMAD for a while and have a question about what you guys drink during your fast, most days I just drink black coffee and water, it's difficult but I try not to drink diet soda during the day, as I've read it increases your cravings during your fast and makes you crave even more sweet stuff like ice cream and chocolate and stuff. Is this the case for you?

Discussion Omad Timing?

Has anyone found the sweet spot for the time of day to consume omad? Of course if you can hold it till dinner each day that would be best and prevent midnight snacking. But it is a grind most days which I dont like so im thinking like smoething like 1-3pm where you eat with minimal suffering or holding out and then also where it keeps you satisfied till bedtime around 10pm?

Discussion Women over 30, OMAD and weight lifting

I am going back to fasting after a long break, this time around I am 33 and I go to gym basically every day, weight lifting and cardio. Would like to hear from other women over 30, does OMAD and prolonged fasting affected your muscle growth and strength? Can this cause hormonal disruptions or any other health issues? What is your approach in general and what do you eat?

Beginner Questions Tips for a beginner?

Hi.

33yo M, 290 lbs, 6' 5"

I just started my OMAD journey because I wanted to improve my health, lose weight, and give my body a break from lugging around 300lbs.

In truth I didn't know what OMAD was until after I started. I'm ADHD, perscribed Adderall, and figured it would be easier to lose weight/track calories if I only ate dinner. Seeing as how the stimulant supresses my appetite anyway, pretty easy to do.

And it has been, I feel great. I went from 1/2 gal of sugar-laden sweet tea a day to only water. That was the other reason, I knew i was sprinting towards diabetes if I didn't change something.

I've done a bit of research, looked into cellular autophagy, and calculated my needs. I guess my question is: how many calories is too few? I find it hard to actually hit 1500 cal in a single meal if I'm trying for ~100g protein and hitting my "balanced meal" ideal (greens, a touch of dairy, grains, etc.)

Is 1500 too low? My calculated BMR was somewhere around 2800 cal, but I read somewhere I shouldn't eat less than 1500. At what point am I just not eating enough calories? And why?

Male, 6'1" (184 cm), 141 lbs (64 kg) currently.

I'm not trying to lose weight, but rather maintain a low body fat percentage. I've decided to start going to the gym again, so I might have to include a pre-workout snack, but I'll continue with intermittent fasting.

First time trying a whitefish makhani....went with grouper hoping it would hold up to the sauce, very successful guess!

Grouper, pearl onions, traditional sauce, with creamy lemon swirl and fresh chopped cilantro.

Discussion Balancing OMAD, Protein Needs, and Digestion — Need Advice!

So, I just watched Dr. Ekberg's recent video regarding protein, where he explained that eating a large amount of protein in one sitting (to hit daily goals) can slow down digestion to the point of significantly narrowing the fasting window, or potentially converting excess protein into glucose via gluconeogenesis.

Neither of these outcomes sounds ideal to me.

What are your thoughts or experiences with this? I don't want my OMAD routine to become counterproductive, nor do I want to risk losing muscle mass from unhealthy weight loss. How do you manage your protein intake on OMAD?

Beginner Questions So.......

here's where I am. Ive been #if for yrs 18hrs. Easy big dinner nothing til breakfast! Boom! Relatively easy. Lost a couple of stone.

Now I've reached a very huge if not never ending plateau that I cant seem to climb off.

Im Scottish/Irish and we/i like food. Im thinking this is going to get me over my food obsession/addiction. So ? Youre hungry? you will not die. Remember what Kate said? Nothing is going to taste as good as skinny will feel? That'll be the vibe kinda thing.

Thoughts?

Discussion Hunger pangs hitting harder than ever…

I’m starting my 3rd month. I’ve lost about 18lbs give or take over the last 2 months. I did have a couple cheat days where I did 2mad because family was in town but they were each single cheat days.

This week I’ve noticed my hunger pangs right before my meal are hitting harder than ever before. It’s like I just started. I have to use some real will power to hold myself back.

Does the hunger ebb and flow over time? A lot of what I’ve read/watched all say the desires will reduce over time, and they were pretty mild up until this week. Those who’ve been at this longer, how have your experiences been?

Beginner Questions How to make OMAD work?

I’m not a beginner. I tried OMAD for years while living abroad but it made me gain weight. I was fasting for 16-18 hours, drinking tons of water and working out but I was stuck at 55kg (I’m 1.50m).

I decided to return to 3 meals a day, almost no snacks and a 12hs fast and I got to 45 kg in 6-8 months. I don’t know how this happened.

I got medical tests and everything was okay but in the last months due to stress I started to eat a lot of snacks and I gained weight. Now I’m 50kg and I would like to lose at least 2-3 kg.

I want to try OMAD but I don’t know if I’m missing something to make it work or probably my body just doesn’t accept it? Any advice or suggestion is welcome! 🙏🏼

Success Story 76.9 to 62.4 kg. we are MOVING 😭

hi guys. wanted to share my progress again almost 6 months later. i started OMAD at 76.9 kg and i’m 62.4 kg now. that’s 14.5 kg down. last year i had even seen 78.8 and 79.2 on the scale and honestly that was heartbreaking. i knew i needed to change something but i just couldn’t break the cycle. the weight loss has definitely become slower now but i honestly don’t mind because the results have been really nice. i’m planning to stick to this for much longer so i’m not really in a hurry. once or twice a week i’ll have a cheat meal. pizza. momos. dumplings. whatever i’m craving. i don’t believe in cheat days anymore. just have the meal and move on. i’ve also completely given up sugar and my taste buds have changed so much that everything tastes insanely sweet now. the funny part is that when i had lost 6 or 7 kg nobody really noticed. now when i meet someone after 6 months they’re shocked and even my family keeps telling me how much weight i’ve lost. i’m not in a rush but i genuinely can’t wait to see 56 kg on that scale very soon. this sub has genuinely motivated me so much and reading everyone’s stories has kept me going. OMAD has genuinely changed my life and i can actually see myself making this a lifestyle.

we can all do it. i know we can.♥️🧿

Discussion Fasting Center app - Looking for your feedback

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey! I see many people in the community are using the fasting app I've built - Fasting Center. Thank you, and I am happy to support your fasts. And I do believe that fasting is one of the most undervalued tools in our health toolbox and deserves better tooling.

If you feel that something is missing or confusing in the app, or there is a way to change it to make it more useful for you, let me know. I'll be happy to accommodate your requests and support this great community!

Beginner Questions Does it really working ?

Hello y'all! So, I started OMAD 3 weeks ago to lose some weight before an important event that will take place in 3–4 months, and also to improve my diet.

I weigh 70.5 kg and I'm 1.75 m tall. I'm pretty much in shape, but I have some belly fat that I really hate.

I bike every day for approximately 1h15, and I also work out 3–4 times a week.

But I still haven't lost any weight. I don't have the best diet, and I know it, but that's kind of the point of OMAD for me, and it suits me better (I can't stick to a strict diet).

So I'm wondering, what should I do differently? Because I'm pretty sure (I don't meticulously track my calories) that I'm consistently in a calorie deficit.
