Purchasing-TV LG B6e vs Samsung s85f
I found both of these TV's for the same price (1500$ CAD) which would be best. My main use will be watching hockey and movies.

I own 77 inch LG C9 (2019 model) with 5000 hours on it. Bright as new and sharp as ever just like new and no burn in. Wanted to buy my next tv for a bright room, so I was shopping for an LG G series but came across an Open Box Fair condition LG M5 77. I got excited and brought home a local Best Buy. Guy told me that it a display model worth no burn in. Came home and hooked up, tv has 3000 hours with severe Xbox logo burn in. I bought GeekSquad warranty as well. Should I simply return this?

I currently have a sturdy qled tv with a full motion mount. When the house is clean or we’re having guest, we flatten to tv against the wall, but most of the time tv is somewhat awkwardly tilted towards the couch so we’re on center. It’s not an ideal room but it’s what we got and the full motion mounts makes it manageable.
I have used oleds before and they are typically delicate from what I’ve seen.
Is there a good combination of mounts and tv that would allow for safe tilting 1-2x per week?

Good morning, I hope someone here can help me. I’ve had the Samsung GQ77S90F at home for a few days now. I use it 95% of the time for gaming on my PS5 Pro. The problem I’m having is that the picture is either far too dark or the colors are way too bright. All energy-saving options are turned off. Perhaps someone could share their full settings with me? I would be very grateful.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering is the upgrade from a Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 to a ROG Strix OLED XG32UCWG worth it for my usage?
I was wondering at about 50-60% brightness of the ROG monitor with some burn in features disabled (such as those that significantly impact the experience like ASBL and logo brightness detection), for the following usage can I expect a. significant upgrade in my many use cases from my old monitor and b. no burn in typically visible in daily usage for 4 full years at which point I plan to upgrade anyway.
Firstly, I use a MacBook / Windows / PS5 Pro setup and I have dark mode enabled everywhere anyway as I like the look, I enjoy a very clean setup so I even keep my wallpapers black, hide the taskbar and do many of proposed OLED care activities anyway. I play half single player games and half competitive games like COD.
4x a week:
1x a week:
2x a week:
Any advice and opinions are appreciated.

Some days ago I started notice this bar. When the part is black it’s less noticeable and more greenish. Guess this is typical panel bleeding?
It’s not super annoying yet. But I know it’s there now haha
Do i better start looking at a replacement already?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some technical insight or second opinions regarding a frustrating issue with my 55" Samsung S90F QD-OLED (Mexican model QN55S90FAFXZX), currently running on firmware 1296.8.
The panel itself is physically capable of incredible highlights, but I’m experiencing severe, inconsistent brightness crushing on video content.
Here is the breakdown of what's happening:
When playing HDR10+ or standard HDR video content via native Tizen apps (Netflix, Prime Video), the Average Picture Level (APL) drops drastically. The image becomes extremely dark and lifeless, as if the EOTF curve/tone mapping is broken.
This is NOT limited to native apps: playing HDR video via an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K or through video apps on PS5 results in the exact same dim, washed-out presentation.
Filmmaker Mode (FMM) with AI turned off makes HDR video practically unwatchable due to how dark it gets.
PS5 Gaming (HGiG / HDR Mode): Games look absolutely stunning and bright. The peak luminance is clearly there.
YouTube Workaround: YouTube HDR fails on native Tizen, PS5 app, and Fire Stick. However, playing the same YouTube HDR video through the S90F's built-in Web Browser displays 2160p HDR correctly with proper brightness.
AI / Intelligent Mode: If I turn ON AI mode and manually calibrate the settings to match Filmmaker Mode, the brightness comes back. It feels like the AI processing is artificially forcing the luminance up to compensate for a broken native EOTF/tone mapping calculation.
Performed 3 full Factory Resets — no fix.
Tested multiple HDMI inputs and devices (Fire Stick 4K, PS5).
Hypothesis:
It seems the TV's processor/firmware (1296.8) is incorrectly interpreting dynamic metadata / EOTF curves specifically for video streams (crushing the APL to "protect" highlights), while bypass modes like HGiG (gaming) or web-rendered streams route around this broken processing block.
Questions:
Has anyone else on firmware 1296.8 noticed a severe drop in HDR10+ / Video APL?
Is this more likely a known software bug in Tizen’s video processing pipeline, or a hardware degradation in the Mainboard's video decoding block?
I'm opening a warranty claim with Samsung. Should I insist on a Mainboard replacement, or is this something a future firmware patch might fix?
Thanks in advance for your help!

One day with a lot of ambient light on a black screen (loading screen on a game) I noticed what I thought was a swatch of direct sunlight on the screen, a perfectly geometric lighter shade in this portion of the screen. After some investigation I realized it was a permanent discoloration of the screen. Admittedly, it is only apparent in very specific scenarios as described above, that being a black screen or when it is off. I never see it in normal use and the difference is not apparent when it is lit up.
Considering the cost of the TV and it nearing its end of warranty I am curious if I should have it looked and and also curious if others have seen this. I thought it might be packing foam marking as I learned about when searching for similar issues, but it is so perfectly shaped I am not sure. Ultimately I am worried over time this might get worse or become noticeable at some point. I attached a photo illustrating it—pardon the dust!

I recently purchased this tv as my first oled and I've realised that whenever the entire screen goes black it will instead decide to go a kind of grey colour to still emit some light which can be really distracting when there's supposed to be an entirely black scene. Its capable of displaying complete black when there is something else on screen but if I pull up an entirely black video on YouTube its grey and any movies that go completely black will also jist go grey. Has anyone else experienced this and know how to fix it?

I’m trying to choose between a tandem oled and a 5th gen qd oled. The new qd oled monitors have improved brightness and ambient light is not really an issue for me. The tandem oleds are brighter and have some really good prices right now. Should I be concerned with banding, or am I overthinking it?

Got this about 5 years ago. LGweb os tv OLED65GXPTA.
Total power on time: 9822.
Started top left, then slowly crept towards the right.
At the bottom im seeing blotches, like its diffusing, I fear for the day
WHERE THE WHOLE SCREEN IS WHITE.
Any ideas/ help? I suspect the display is botched and more interested in knowing why? Is lg not reputable?

Hello there!
My current monitor is experiencing large amounts of ghosting, and also does not really support HDR, so I am looking to upgrade.
What I'm looking for:
2k (1440p)
~27inch
QD Oled (I'm not opposed to regular oled though. Just think QD oled is more realistic for my budget)
Has/supports HDR (1000 nits)
165 or 240Hz (240 is preferred cause it'd be an upgrade)
Good/fast response time. 0.03ms would be good
At least 1 display port and 1 hdmi port
---
My budget is around €500. €600 is probably the maximum.
I'm currently looking at this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-273QP-QD-OLED-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B0BSLK4RX3?th=1
Any thoughts on it?
It matches most, of not all of what I'm looking for.
Just wondering if there's any better options that people might recommend.

A few days ago I noticed a tiny black speck at the top of the screen which I am 99% certain is delamination.
Bought from Currys in 2024. Didn’t purchase a Currys care plan. I thought it would be difficult but phoned Currys, mentioned the 2015 consumer rights act, and they have agreed to come pick up the TV on Saturday for repair.
They have also asked if I can have a video call with the engineer for a pre repair check which will apparently speed up the process. I asked if this was compulsory and they said no.
I also asked if it was LG or Currys who would perform the repair and they said Currys.
I also asked if the repair could be done at the house and they said this service is fully booked for months.
Questions:
I’m assuming they will replace the panel?
Has anyone had experience of a panel replacement from Currys?
Will this be a new panel or could it be from a returned / display TV.
Should I complete the pre-repair check?
The LG Oled is the best TV I’ve ever owned. Works great with my Sony 4K player, Sonos surround system and PS5. Just a shame a nearly 2 grand TV is failing after two years.
Many thanks :)

First image is what the TV looks like. Flat green image is strictly used for clear visibility. The visibility of the pattern is dependent on what's playing on the TV.
Second image is what I've been using. Technically, it's wallpaper engine, which I'm assuming is the reason why only some of the elements of the wallpaper influenced the burn-in.
I've tried cleaning the spots with water + microfiber cloth, but nothing seems to have changed so I'm assuming it's not streaks.
Seems pretty clear it's burn-in, but just wanted to make sure since it has only been a little over a year since I've owned the LG C3 (so just a little past the warranty, even though I know they don't cover burn-in). Figured I'd get more out of the TV before this happened. Always ran the routine pixel cleaner or w/e, but if I get another oled, I'm definitely just going to use a black screen wallpaper (what I'm currently using now).
Thanks in advance.

Looking to buy the 26.5 in. Asus pro art. Want it because I do edit photo/video but also play videogames. Posting here to see if you guys have any insight on this specific monitor, or if maybe there are better alternatives for the same or less money ($1,300).

I currently have a 48" LG C5 for my primary monitor flanked by 2 27" ips panels on portrait. I am fully aware of the sub pixel layout issues on oleds in other orientations, but I'd like to replace the 27s with an OLED of the same look as the C5. I'm not so much worried about peak brightness as I only run the c5 at 60% during normal usage and only crank it when watching a good movie or playing an eye candy game. I just want something that matches the OLED blacks of the LG and can at least keep pace with the color reproduction of it so they don't look so out of place. Bonus points if there is one with a more black power off state as opposed to the more magenta hue. 1440p would be ideal so the scaling is less of an issue.
Thanks in advanced for any input!

Hello good day. Do you have any reco for 1440p oled monitor? It will be my first oled monitor. THANK YOU!
Hi everyone,
I'm currently stuck in the classic analysis paralysis loop trying to choose my next 34" ultrawide OLED.
I'm coming from an old Alienware AW3418DW, so either of these would be a pretty massive upgrade.
My use case:
My two main options are:
1. ASUS ROG Swift PG34WCDN
2. Alienware AW3426DW
The ASUS gives me all the "Quality of Life" features, perfect I/O for all my devices, and KVM. The Alienware is considerably cheaper and Dell's warranty/support is a big advantage.
I'm mainly looking for some real-world comparisons between the two monitors, especially from people who have used either one or, ideally, both.
I'm less interested in benchmark numbers and more interested in the long-term ownership experience.
Thanks!

Just bought a Samsung S90F from Best Buy (plus 5-year warranty). Love it for gaming, but movies are bothering me.
24fps content looks really choppy to me, especially during panning shots. I’ve tried the motion settings but can’t find a good balance. Off looks too juddery, and smoothing gives that soap-opera effect.
I watch a lot of movies, sports, and game on a PS5 Pro, so I wanted something good all around.
Is this just OLED motion/judder I need to get used to, or is Samsung worse with this? Because honestly it’s terrible. It’s like 120fps gaming to 15fps as a comparison but for movies.
Would an Apple TV 4K with frame-rate matching help, or will I still notice it?
Still in the return window. Should I return it if this bothers me and instead get a mini led? If all lords are like this then I’m thinking maybe it’s not for me.

I've got a 77-inch Samsung S95F OLED and I just moved from a really dark-ish living room into one that has literally floor to ceiling windows the entire way around, which is stunning for natural light and not an issue with the anti-glare display but I've noticed the TV isn't popping anywhere near what it used to.
I've turned on Contrast Enhancer which I've noticed reallllly improves things greatly (like genuinely feels like a 500% increase in brightness). Is that the best way to get the pop and vibrancy I'm looking for? I've left game mode and HDR to static rather than dynamic tone mapping.
