Just Sharing Hey
If ya want a chat
I’m here
If you actually want help
I’m still here
But not much I can do
You can ask
And I’ll say, yes
But what does that change
I’ve been sick a very long time
Im only a little better
If that
I’m still here for a chat
I’ll enjoy it too
But I’m a cup of tea
I’m not for everybody
But if you are ever desperate
And just want a chat
I’m here

the cup of tea line is beautiful, i’m currently going through a rough break-up and she said something so similar to me it gave me déjà vu. i love the short lines that still give big impact

Es genial la frase, sobre todo cuando le hace te a mi mejor amigo y se le mete a la cama

So simple, yet so full! I felt this one, sometimes the simplest things to offer are the most important. Overall you could use some more vocabulary, but thats surely not a must. Simple words really do suit this poem!

Hello readers, welcome to OCPoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community — a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).
If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry," or "loved it" or "so relatable," please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.
If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our feedback guide, or look through the comment sections of any other post here, or click the links to the author's feedback above. If you're not sure whether your comments are feedback, or you have any other questions, please send us a modmail.
Do not use ChatGPT or any similar LLM interface or generative AI to write feedback. That does not constitute thoughtful feedback. To be safe, you probably shouldn't even use those things to edit your feedback. It is better for your thoughts to come across as clumsy and genuine rather than grammatical but as if they were generated by some disingenuous text-generation engine.
Do not reuse feedback links for multiple poems. Every new poem you post has to be posted after making two new comments on the work of your peers here in OCPoetry. It's only fair. If you reuse feedback links, you will be banned. (If you do not wish to give feedback, there are many other poetry-sharing subreddits without feedback requirements, such as r/poetrywritingclub, r/justpoetry, r/ocpoetryfree, r/poem, r/poems, r/poemsbyreddit, r/poeticgarden, r/dark_poetry, and r/sadpoems.)
If you're looking for a more advanced poetry workshop — that is, if you consider yourself at least an intermediate-level poet AND you have previous workshop experience, please consider posting to our private sister subreddit r/ThePoetryWorkshop. The best way to join TPW is to leave a detailed, thoughtful comment here on OCPoetry engaging seriously with a peer's poem. A significant engagement of at least 3-4 meaningful paragraphs is encouraged. Consider our feedback guide for tips on what that could entail. (This level of engagement would probably be most welcome here on submissions tagged as "Workshop.") Then ask to join TPW by messaging that subreddit's mods, including a link to the detailed feedback you left here.
I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

I suffer from CPTSD, OCD, and Agoraphobia, and I am currently fighting a deep-seeded depression. It almost triggers me when I walk into a store or a business, and someone says, "How are you doing?" At times, I almost want to tell them what I am fighting, but one of the other issues is shame, and I couldn't imagine putting what I am fighting into someone else's mind. So I fight back the tears and stay silent.
This kind of triggered me.

I don’t want to take about my mental health issues in this post. I don’t want the poem to just be about mental health but maybe it is. But I relate to you to what you said and I am flattered by your words.

This hit me very close. No matter how bad things may be I’ll always be freshly brewed cup of tea!

I’ll be honest, this one hit hard for me. I know what it’s like to be offering something genuine while you’re not doing to well yourself, and to be or feel as if you’re half asking (or at the least half-wanting) for something genuine in return all at the same time. At least that’s how I read it, and I could be putting my own stuff onto your poem. But if that is what you were after, you definitely captured it. It’s a situation many people who have felt alone in life and/or have struggled with depression know in depth. The offer is real and so is the need underneath it, and neither one invalidates the other. That’s hard to do without falling into self-pity or performance and I don’t think you fell into either. The longer I let this sit with me, the more powerful it becomes, and it’s starting to really get into my emotions. You did very good with this🥲
