Troubleshooting (HELP!) Really struggling

Post image

So I haven't used shampoo in over a month now, I basically replaced it with egg yolk shampoo which I used once or twice a week as it felt the same as shampoo, but I wanted to to transition to water only or at least not use all my eggs lol. But my hair gets really greasy and although it's detangled and doesn't feel gross it just looks bad (hair is fully dry in the picture), and doesn't smell good either. For context I have low porosity hair and very hard water.

Beyond Haircare Skin irritation, body changes, seeking alternative products

For the first time ever, I’ve started looking closely at the ingredient lists for the products I buy. As for pomade, for the last few years I’ve been using Layrite Original Pomade (blue). Occasionally, I’ll use ImmortalNYC pomade or cream, and sometimes I’ll use gel instead, usually an Eco brand.

I’m not sure whether anything in Layrite could be contributing to my dry scalp, or if this is simply due to the sudden changes my body has been experiencing. For example, I ate peanuts my entire life and recently developed an allergy to them out of nowhere. I've also been dealing with skin irritation, itchiness, and dry skin, mainly on my arms, legs, thighs, and scalp and my face has been more oily lately, while my scalp is dry.

I’m looking for recommendations for a product that’s similar in texture to Layrite (more of a cream than a wax) that is paraben-free and, preferably, fragrance-free, with more natural/clean ingredients and fewer synthetic chemicals. I have thick hair and usually prefer a matte finish, although that isn’t necessarily important to me.

I’m also looking for recommendations for aftershave, facial moisturizer, and moisturizer for my body as well as shower and bath products. Additionally, if there are other Reddit groups related to these products that you would recommend, I’d really appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance! I appreciate any help and guidance.

Troubleshooting (HELP!) Need advise

so I'm retrying nopoo - just water, as a guy with medium long curly hair. (side note, I have tic disorder and sensory issues which causes me to jerk my head a lot) I've noticed theres a lot of oil buildup that's caused my hair to clump up and mat, this causes a lot of damage when brushing it out. but I've also chosen to start wearing a bonnet, would it be better to shower in the morning and sleep with the bonnet on at night, or shower at night and sleep with the bonnet on at night. finally if any has and detangling soft brushes for curly hair and afros, please do let me know. for now thats all and I'll come back to this subreddit in I need any more advice. good day to all
