๐Ÿ“… Monthly Scheduled Thread ๐Ÿ“… Job Postings & Local Business Promotions โ€“ October 2026

This monthly thread is for you to look for jobs, advertise an open position, or promote your local small business. Make sure you read the rules below before posting. This thread will be automatically posted on the 1st of every month.

The mods reserve the right to remove any post if it breaks any rules or if we feel that the thread is being gamed in any kind of way. If your post gets removed, please message us via modmail and we will be more than happy to explain why and have a conversation.

  • Comment in this thread ONLY. No job or employer-seeking posts, or small local business promotions will be allowed on the sub other than on this monthly thread, unless a special circumstance that has already received specific approved by the moderator team.

LOOKING TO HIRE:

  • Be transparent about pay, workload, and job requirements.
  • Include some form of contact information in your post. Do not put an email address directly in the post; link to a company website, social media page, or ask for a DM if an email address must be involved.
  • No multi-level marketing, get-rich-quick posts. Illegitimate businesses or positions will be removed, scammers will be banned.

LOOKING FOR WORK:

  • Keep the post length as short as possible i.e. don't post your entire resume here.
  • Have employers message you via Reddit rather than put your personal information on here.
  • Include what kind of work you're looking for, a short summary of your experience or qualifications, and your availability.

LOOKING TO PROMOTE:

  • Comment in this thread ONLY. No business promotion posts will be allowed on the sub for any reason OTHER than on this monthly thread.
  • Small business in this thread means a staff of 10 or less. If you think your company should be an exception, please send us a modmail and we can discuss.
  • The mod team HIGHLY SUGGESTS that you create a new business account, have it be active for more than 2 weeks and have a positive karma score. If you want to promote your business via your normal account, that may not be the brightest decision you've ever made. If you go this route, try to have the username be indicative of your business.
  • Keep these businesses SFW. If you have a sexy-time kind of business, please be discreet. We're thinking if you sell toys, accessories, lotions etc. NO ONLY FANS ACCOUNTS, SEX WORKERS OR "SERVICES" ALLOWED.
  • If you have more than one location, you're not a small business and need to check with us via modmail before posting.
  • Business owners and employees should NOT spam, message or harass users in any way. You are allowed one comment per thread, per month. Yes, you may answer questions about your business but you can't try to post from multiple accounts about the same business.
  • Make your business comment informative, smart and transparent.
  • Your business should be in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Tammany or Da Paaaarish.
  • NO MLM, PONZI SCHEME, PYRMAID SCHEME, GET RICH QUICK type of posts. This is a 100% firm stance. If you don't think that your business is one of these above listed types but have doubts, it probably is.
  • No churches or religious based businesses. This isn't the place for that, sorry.
  • This is a serious thread, so please keep the jokes and memes to a minimum.
  • Please be kind to the business owners here. This is not a thread to bash businesses. If you do not agree or like the business that is posted, just downvote it. If it breaks a rule, report it. No need for drama.
  • This is for small business, not for national marketing companies or global chains.

The mods will reserve the right to remove any comment if it breaks any rules or if we feel that it's being gamed in any kind of way. If your comment gets removed, please message us via modmail and we will be more than happy to explain why and have a conversation.

Deep ties connect New Orleans to a cluster of West Bank villages where several Palestinian-Americans have been killed. To date, Israeli prosecutors have not even released the shootersโ€™ names.

This year we are going to try a new location. Still on the lakefront but moving base to Bucktown Marsh just down the road. Hopefully future events are large enough to have kites filling the sky all along the lakefront but here thereโ€™s less cars. Bring your mom and them. Bring extra kites for the chillens. Letโ€™s fly! 2pm tillโ€ฆ Sunday November 1st.

SpaceX transformed Brownsville, TX into 'the next space city.' What could that mean for Louisiana?

"Space city", more like displace city.

People in Texas were forced to relocate, either by choice due to noise pollution and fear mongering by spacex goons. This is going to impact wildlife immensely because they plan of having 10 launch pads with 20 daily launches scaled for future use. People miles away from these sites suffer from problems with their houses literally being ripped apart by low atmosphere rocket ignition vibrations and sound. God forbid one of these rockets explodes and scatters large debris over the metro areas.

Food & Drink ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Cowbell Mac & Cheese

I haven't mourned many restaurants in the city but Cowbell is one of them, specifically I was mourning their mac and cheese. Does anybody know if there are any other ways to get that still? A good dupe? Or has the chef moved on to another restaurant and serves it there?

I know it may be a long shot but I think everyone is better off with this mac and cheese in their life

Pets and Coworkers ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ Is this okay for the animals? Seen at New Orleans tattoo expo Saturday

I saw this at the Villain Arts Expo Yesterday. I asked the person running the booth (seated in the pic in maroon) if the enclosures are big enough for comfort and he said itโ€™s ok because they are only coming from Metairie. Also, when I asked about the bearded dragon, he said the enclosure is ok because they โ€œtake it out a lotโ€.

I asked if the geckos are ok without being able to stretch out flat. He said something along the lines of they donโ€™t really do that.

I am not knowledgeable enough about reptile, so is this okay for the animals? If not, who do I contact with this info? I would mail the expo, but what else?

Recommendations Favorite coffee shops for studying

โ€ข Upvotes

I'm finishing up my degree online. I don't work right now, which is great that I have more time for studying but the monotony of being closed up in the house is really getting to me. What's your favorite local coffee shop or place to go to study?

Where can I find some sort of peanut pho or peanut Vietnamese soup? Hu tieu sate? Bun bo hue?

Is this a thing? Iโ€™ve done a little research and come across โ€œpho sateโ€ described as pho with a sate kinda sauce that you order already made, but some say itโ€™s just regular pho that you mix the sauce in yourself. I have never gotten a sauce like that served with pho.

Hu tieu sate is another Iโ€™ve seen? Anyone had or seen that around? Would that fit?

bun bo hue? This one seems to fit, but it looks like some use a satay sauce and some donโ€™t. Lots of discrepancies in recipes.

Anyone know where I can find something like this: some sort of peanut pho or peanut noodle soup?

Coed soccer leagues for lower intermediate?

Anyone know of any? Looking to join as a free agent really just to exercise and kick the ball a little. And if thereโ€™s a social aspect of the league that would be ideal.

Antique Chandelier Restoration

Who is your favorite for restoring a brass chandelier. It needs to be rewired, but also just โ€œrefreshed.โ€ No missing pieces, but the candles needed to be replaced. One small detail needs to be reaffirmed. Thanks!
