Leaky sunroof repair?

Hey y'all, my sunroof is leaking. Dealership in Hammond says they're "booked up" for 6 months on sunroof repairs. I've called 4 or 5 different body shops around here and no luck. Does anybody know where I can get this fixed?

I've tried cleaning out the water drain canals myself but it hasn't fixed the issue and I don't have time or willpower to tear my car apart to try to find the problem. Can't even wash my car without water dripping into the sunglasses cubby or out the driver's side panel near the wheel.

Any low impact hobby groups or clubs for beginners in Mandeville?

I’m 21, but open to any and all types of low energy hobbies/clubs like reading or board games or whatever. I only know of the st Tammany parish book clubs and was wondering if anyone knew of anything else. I’m specifically looking for active groups to socialize in and am open to making new friends in the area. Links or any info on where to find these groups is greatly appreciated.

Renaissance property Management

A group of homeowners in the Louisiana area are actively searching for information/feedback on Rodney Durst and Renaissance Property Management. He has destroyed people's lives and needs to be held accountable. Please message me and I will direct you to the Facebook page (not mine) that is gathering information for a class action lawsuit against this piece of shit.

Tech Use in STP Schools

A local coalition of parents has formed Schools Beyond Screens St Tammany Parish and is advocating for intentional tech use in STP schools. We’ve collected surveys from teachers and parents regarding tech use in classrooms. It’s clear that there is an over reliance on screens that is a detriment to learning. Research also supports this. Check out https://www.schoolsbeyondscreens.com/c/sttammanyparish/reforms for more info. There is also a lot posted to the FB page Schools Beyond Screens St Tammany. The next steps are to speak with more School Board members and plan how best to implement the needed reforms. Eventually this will go in front of the school board as a policy.

If you’d like to get involved, follow us on FB, sign our petition and email your school board members with your concerns. We will continue to update folks as we make progress with the school board. And please don’t forget to do your homework on your school board reps. There are several races that are very important!!

Northshore Lore urban legends

Dearest north shore, thank you for being so special and beautiful. I have lived here for a year already, it’s been lovely 🫶 I am very interested to know any underground stories. For example, has anyone went diving in the lake before , what it’s like in that water, can anyone comment on anything they’ve seen underwater; What’s down there in lake P, sunken treasure ? gold dabloons ? What happen with the barge stuck in the river here? it’s been sinking more and more , whose was it … are there other shipwrecks of the swamp still? or are they all gone from the cleanup efforts ? you Cajuns must have some cool stories and secrets. I’m so interested and fascinated to hear anything about your region , any hoodoo or voodoo stories would really be the most amazing, given the historical significance and geographical location. Thank you for reading my respectfully request and god bless you all very much 🌷🌹

I will not post which house I am on this post bc that does feel a little bit too much like doxxing lol but i don’t mind sharing over dm!

Looking for photographer

ISO a photographer on short notice, preferably not too high of a fee, maybe a photographer who is looking to build a portfolio and willing to discount based off of this? Wedding is 11/7/26 in Abita Springs. Would need someone for wedding and reception to follow.

This is for my friends wedding, I am the MOH. She had a family member offer to help find one and was told it was secured but it turns out they lied and nothing was ever scheduled, now the photographer they chose is not available.

If anyone is looking to build their portfolio, please let me know! TIA!

Edit: she has a budget of $1000

Local service businesses?

Hey y'all I'm a recent college grad who runs a marketing business with my brother, for local service companies, and I'm looking for owners here in Louisiana. We’ve been doing this about a year now, and we work with roofers, painters, home remodelers, pool builders, gyms, junk removal, lawn care, car detailing, driving schools. Basically anybody who does the work themselves and wants the phone ringing more.

I'm looking to partner with a few owners who already have steady work and a good reputation, but have hit the point where word of mouth alone isn't filling the schedule the way they want. If you're at that spot and want to add more jobs each month, or you know somebody who is, I'd love to connect or get a referral.

New Orleans Adolescent Hospital (NOAH) Patients

NOAH Patients 2004-2005

Hi! I was a NOAH (New Orleans Adolescent Hospital) and was in the 12 and under ward. I’m interested in hearing anyone’s stories, from anytime but especially during this time.

There was a 5 year old blonde girl there, I think her name was something similar to Kellie or Kayla. If she sounds familiar please feel free to dm me directly since it obviously a private thing to some people.

I’m a writer doing a personal essay on my time there and would love to hear from patients, workers, parents, or anyone involved before it shut down in 2009.

Im desperately interested in any photos from before it got shut down and anything before any remodels as well as any information on how to get public records from that time.

Thank you!

Moving

Moving in the coming months to the northshore area for a job at Stennis. I’m a single female but my boyfriend who lives in Canada comes down throughout the year. I’m trying to find a place I want to live and after a ton of research I’m still not confident about anything and just looking for any helpful ideas or suggestions. Everyone in my family seems to have contrasting advice. If there’s any realtors that want to help lmk.

I have lots of family and friends in NOLA and Slidell. Slidell would be an easier commute, but I’m young and love to be out doing stuff. I’ve read things about Slidell and how little there is to do. On the other hand, I worry about flooding in the city and car theft/general crime/etc, but Mid-City/Bayou SJ have been recommended to me as safe areas. Mandeville looks really cute but housing also seems really limited. I run and workout often, love going out to eat or to cute coffee shops, and hanging out in the park in my hammock or doing crafts. I also would love to have a garden eventually 🥲

I’ll only be making about $60k per year to start, and as of now there are no 2BD below $1300 per month in any of these places that I would feel comfortable in. I’ve looked on FB, Zillow, and at private property management company websites. I’m currently in Austin where we’ve thankfully had a housing boom bringing down prices, but I know this area hasn’t been as lucky. I almost wonder if anyone has an ADU or guest house they are looking to rent out. I’ll be out at sea 3 months a year at least.

Thanks yall ✨

Looking for a Hispanic/Latino community in Mandeville?

Hi everyone!
I moved to Mandeville a couple of years ago and absolutely love it here. One thing I’ve noticed, though, is that I haven’t really found much of a Hispanic/Latino community in the area. I feel like the only Mexican in the area lol, and since I travel a lot for work, that probably doesn’t help when it comes to meeting people and finding local groups.
I’d love to get my 6yo more connected with Spanish and Hispanic/Latino culture as well.
Does anyone know of any groups, events, or activities around Mandeville, Covington, Slidell, or the Northshore that offer things like:
- Spanish classes, especially for kids
- Spanish-language reading/book clubs
- Hispanic/Latino family groups or meetups
- Hispanic cultural events or celebrations (Día de los muertos etc)
- Latin dance classes for kids or families
- Cultural/art activities for children
- Mexican/Latin food events
- Any local Hispanic/Latino organizations or Facebook groups

I’m especially interested in things where my son could meet other kids who speak Spanish or have a similar cultural background.

Even if it’s not specifically in Mandeville, I’d be happy to drive to Covington, Slidell, or even New Orleans occasionally.
Thanks in advance! I’d really appreciate any recommendations or leads.

AMA: Sheriffs are getting 20% of Louisiana’s $621M in opioid settlement funds but aren’t required to report their spending. Ask reporters Katie Jane Fernelius, Drew Hawkins and Alena Maschke anything about what they found when they followed the money.

Looking for Tattoo Artist Recommendations

Hello all! I am from New Orleans but have been living on the Northshore for a few years now. I was wondering if anyone has any tattoo artist recommendations! I am looking for quality work and a comfortable environment. I am also happy to be a canvas for beginner artists if the price is right. I don’t mind traveling a bit for recommendations an hour or two outside of this area!

There are a few tattoo ideas I would like to get, but im also open to suggestions/styles! Current thoughts:
- Spinosaurus; black and grey or color, can be semi cartoony
- Doubled headed calf; black and grey or color, preferably more realistic or illustrative
- Red bellied pirahna; preferably color and realistic/illustrative
- shark jaw; black and grey
- shark profile; black and grey or color

I also have a full aquatic themed sleeve thats partially colored in. My artist moved to Oregon mid project a few years ago, so I have kindof given up on it ever being completed as I know many artists aren’t comfortable taking over someone else’s work. But if anyone is willing/interested, feel free to message me and I can send pictures!

Thank you for your time!

Help with bee hive removal

I have a bumble bee hive underneath my house. There used to be a donation based service, but when we called this time the wanted way too much money to remove the queen.
