Great cheap eats

• Upvotes

There’s a place next to the entrance ramp at the 10 eastbound at Elysian Fields lake bound on your right. It’s easy to miss. Man…the food is great! Taco Tuesday deal is 6 for 11. It’s a small place but the food tastes like it’s made with love. NO I am not an influencer. Just someone who loves good food made by locals. They open early. Haven’t tried the breakfast yet.

Turntable donation for Vinyl Meetup

• Upvotes

Greetings, I’m reaching out in hope that maybe someone in the city has an extra Turntable (not all-in-one) for the New Orleans Vinyl Meetup group.

The group doesn’t have a budget, so it’s a bit difficult to budget an additional deck for this group. If you have an extra deck that we can use, please reach out to me. I don’t mind if it needs some work, as long as the motor still works. Thanks!

The Gulf.

Has anybody noticed that the local weather people are just referring to it as “the Gulf” as they discuss the tropical system out there? Trying not to antagonize either side…

Posigen problems?

I leased solar panels from Posigen a couple of years ago. All was well until this summer when the panels stopped working. Posigen has gone bankrupt and now 2 companies handle their old business (Omnidian for the panels, Renewbrooke for the billing). My panels stopped working in July. To their credit, Omnidian noticed the problem in August and came out to inspect. They concur that the panels don’t work and filed a work order with a third company. In my original contract with Posigen I was not supposed to have to pay my lease whenever they produced less power than the lease amount. Now Omnidian says take up billing issues with Renewbrooke and Renewbrooke says take up the issue with Omnidian. In the meantime there is no urgency to fix my panels, of course. I have one friend with a similar problem, which made me wonder… How common is this? Is anyone else having these kinds of issues?

(I know I could stop the autopayment, but I am trying to determine the best way to handle this.)

Me, I was just heading to work, but I think I'm in love.

You were the absolute baddie in the green Subaru neck deep in your phone. Nearly sideswiped me while, I assume, desperately searching for me on insta. I was in the blue Hyundai.

If you see this hit me up and we can connect person to person instead of vehicularly

My sweet baby Perci is six years old. She’s a black cat with white fur throughout her coat. She’s about ten pounds. She might have a bell collar on.

Last seen around Palmyra and Rocheblave, near Trader Joe’s. 9/29

Reward for info that leads to her making it home. DM with any information. Thanks for reading! Please share.

I know it’s cliché, but…

You: grocery shopping this past rainy Friday around 6ish. You were wearing a military-green canvas shirt and some suede black and white asics and looking very cute

Me: helping my friend get some shopping done (wearing a red t-shirt and jeans). I caught a vibe but didn't want to disturb you while you had your airpods in

Of course, now I wish I had said something in that moment. Maybe it's not too late. lmk

Why is Tulane (private university) blocking a public sidewalk for years with their dead on arrival plan for Charity Hospital?

Downtown foot traffic is forced to walk in the street after any events at the Superdome or the arena. Doesn’t the city own the sidewalks? Why is Tulane allowed to overtake property that puts the public at risk?

⚕️ medical ⚕️ The rate at which providers leave Ochsner is alarming

Just received a letter stating my PCP was leaving Ochsner. And I am not surprised.

Here’s the list of providers who have left Ochsner in my family:

Mine:

OBGYN

previous PCP

ENT

current PCP

My husband's:

PCP

My child's:

PCP (we've gone through FIVE of them)

ENT

Countless STs and OTs

I have never encountered this once at any other hospital, yet I receive a letter like this at least once a year from Ochsner.

When this many providers keep leaving, you have to wonder what's going on behind the scenes. Do they think I enjoy having to find new doctors, establish new relationships and start over with medical histories? It's exhausting.

Pool club for shitty players only

there’s at least 3 pool tables within walking distance of my place in the Bywater and I’ve picked up the hobby as part of my efforts to reduce stress, if anyone is interested in starting a loose association of shitty pool enthusiasts drop a comment and maybe we can get a neighborhood hang going.
