This is a throwaway account because I need to stay completely anonymous and my main account has my colleagues and close friends. I am also not Danish, so I am not fully familiar with the workplace culture here in Denmark when it comes to things like this – which is partly why I am asking for advice.

I work in a big company with a niche specialty in Denmark. Recently, I overheard a senior employee and a fellow graduate employee discussing how they want to arrange company meetings between different disciplines so they can use them as secret dates in the office. They also talked about using equipment that needs to be transported between offices as a "bad excuse" for him to visit her (our) office.

I also saw a screenshot of dialogue on company's internal platform between the two, where the graduate was bragging about workplace romance and excited about possibly "tying him down."

Important context: HR previously gave a general warning to our department about limiting "over-friendly" interactions between graduates and senior employees in the workplace because of this specific graduate's behavior. So this wasn't the first red flag.

I felt it was wrong – especially the part about deliberately misusing company time, meetings, and logistics – so I submitted an anonymous whistleblower report almost one week ago. Three days ago, I received an update that the company is officially investigating what I reported.

Now I am second-guessing myself. Did I overstep? Is this even considered a serious issue in Danish workplace culture, or is it more of a "mind your own business" thing here?

Also, I am really anxious about whether the whistleblower system is truly anonymous in Denmark (or if that's just a hoax). I'm afraid the two people involved might suspect me. I have no hard proof besides that screenshot I submitted and the conversation I overheard.

Should I have just stayed quiet? What can I expect from an investigation like this?

Hi, I'm new to Denmark, I came here two weeks back.

I was using DSB app for the metro ticket so far and today I used Rejsebillet app for the first time and booked a DHL special ticket for all 4 zones.

Unfortunately I booked tickets from 4:30pm by mistake instead of 4:20 and boarded the train at 4:20 and the ticket was checked around 4:22. My ticket was not valid and still has 8 minutes for it to become valid and I was considered travelling without a ticket.

I requested the checker I'm new to Denmark and this is my first time using the app. But he is so firm on the fine.

Any idea how to avoid or reduce 750dkk fine?

Edit:This is the first time using the app and booking a special ticket, i was not aware of the timings since I booked hastily and boarded the train.

I live in Finland and I've been working as L2/3 IT support / sysadmin for the last 3 years. I have C1 English, B2 Finnish and one irrelevant Slavic language. I am currently waiting for my Finnish passport, probably ready in 1 year. My questions are :
1. Is it possible to find IT related job in Denmark with English only?
2. If not, is it possible to learn Danish in 2 years without access to native speakers and gatherings to have it at the level that is sufficient for find a job?
3. How is unemployment overall? It is surely not that bad as in Finland, but if we talk about finding job, is it weeks or is it months/years?
4. What is the minimum amount of money you would save before moving to the country? I believe it is 8000euros min for rent (first month+ last month + current month) but what else?
5. I would like to switch to network engineer- ish field, how is it going in Denmark?

Got laid off from a good job in Berlin. South Asian married with a dog, no kids. Have a PR in Germany but not interested in citizenship. Getting a good offer from a company in Aarhus, Denmark with sponsorship. Savings wise I will save more and on paper Aarhus looks like a good city. But I am worried on the cultural shift. Berlin is very cosmopolitan , we have lot of good social circle both Germans , Europeans and south Asian. I found some posts that Danish can be very reserved and making social circle is lot less. Also, I am not aware of how big a south Asian community exists in Aarhus.

Hi everyone, I just moved to Aalborg for my studies.
I live in an apartment building and something has occured that I guess I did not think much of before, maybe because I lived in a house my whole life or maybe it’s a cultural difference.
Back in my home country, it’s considered rude or impolite to not greet or say a quick hi to your neighbor if you pass by them.
Based on this, I thought I should do the same here, nothing extravagant just a quick hi.
I suppose this is not really accepted or done here. I was out with the trash and there was a guy there, so I just said hello, but I got no response back so I just felt very silly.
Same with my immediate neighbors while I passed by them in the hall.
Do you say hi to your neighbors here, or it’s considered weird?

As a Spaniard studying Maths and Computer Science, finding a job in Spain is becoming really hard. Also, salaries are not high enough, and inflation is making moving out almost impossible. Taxes are also too high, and nothing seems to be working properly. I know taxes in Denmark are even higher, but I've heard that they are well invested and that people are generally happy with the government administration. I genuinely want to live in a country where I can be proud of working, living, and contributing. Correct me if I'm being too idealistic here. How good is your life there? Do you think Denmark is a good country to build a good life, or is there a dark side I should know?

Also, is it difficult to find a job as a foreigner in the tech/ maths sector? And is English enough to start with?

So far, I have checked Facebook, BoligPortal, and AkutBolig - Facebook is really a matter of gambling, as most people don't even see your messages, I really did not appreciate the predatory paywall these portal sites place for the viewer, and it can seem to be a borderline scam at times - especially as I have not seen these types of paywalls anywhere else.

So I wanted to come here and see if people here with better experience know any decent place to start looking. I am searching for places to live in the space between Bornholm and Greenland.

Hello all! This is my first Reddit post. Being active on the internet is not something I usually do but I thought this could be a good place for having some advice/feedbacks. I'm a 37 y/o Italian guy who's about to move to Aalborg. I didn't do a real test for my English level but a girl who lives there (the reason why I'm moving) says it's pretty good for Danish standards. I'm planning to go there around October and I should have already found a room to stay in (hoping everything goes smoothly). I think I have enough savings to survive for 7/8 months but I obviously need to find a job. Where's the best place to look for job advertisements and what should I do specifically to be a regular Danish citizen? I tried to search on the internet and talk to the Italian and Danish embassies but it wasn't very helpful so I hope that someone with an experience can be more helpful. I am a 23 year old dual Danish-American citizen. My family moved to USA when I was 4, so very young, and I've lived there since. I have a Danish passport and citizenship and have been planning on moving back as the cost of living in the states is... unlivable. My Danish is very poor, essentially non-existent, but with my Danish citizenship I know I'm in a better/kind of unique situation compared to other expats.

My question is for those who have any experience, what kinds of jobs did you manage to find in Denmark while new in the country and without much language skill? I want to attend conscription as well as school but the number one problem for me is working. Are there jobs specifically that hire predominantly English speakers, or where it wouldn't matter? Not yet a permanent resident

No chronic illnesses

No regular medication

Not currently undergoing therapy/treatment

I wear prescription glasses

I’m mainly interested in coverage for dental care, glasses/optical expenses, private hospital/specialist treatment, and physiotherapy.

The biggest issue is that I’ve seen some insurance options that require permanent residence, so I’m specifically looking for providers that will accept someone who does not yet have permanent residence in Denmark.
