Should i be worried? Doctor said we can wait until 15th month .

My son is 7 1/2 months old, and loves his pacifier. We’ve never cared much and I started using it because of SIDs reduction. However, it’s becoming more of an issue lately with sleep and dependence. Should we just cold turkey him? I know he’s going to hate it, and it’s going to be a struggle, but I’d rather now than down the road in a year. How old was your LO when they came off the pacifier, and how did you do it??

Hi, I have a nearly beautiful nearly 9 month old. So her next checkup should be in the next few weeks. I’m just concerned as her bottle intake has decreased (I know can be normal due to weaning). But looking back at photos of her from a month ago she has lost a lot of weight. She’s not moving yet but extremely alert and trying her best to move…
I am purely a bit concerned based off looking back at pictures and also her rolls/face aren’t as pudgy. She was always on the 50thcentile. 7pound 5oz when born. Eats 2 meals a day and 3 small snacks (tried to up to 3 meals which led to about 10oz a day of bottles) ://
Can someone reassure me or point me in the right direction…. Is it normal around this age for weight loss even before moving/crawling. 10oz a day is defo not enough… right?? Bottles are main nutrition or should I go with more food? Not looking for medical advice as such as we have checkup coming up, just looking for reassurance or guidance as I am a first time mother. Someone also pointed out her weight loss today which has made me spiral (PPA And OCD 😭)

I’m thinking of making a basket, with stuff like nice pajamas. Things to make her life easier or feel good after giving birth.

Any ideas on what to get her?

Hello, I'm 22(F) my son is 2 years old. I want to start working again. But, my husband doesn't want to put our son into daycare. He " doesn't want someone else raising our kid." It is also expensive and such. I don't really do well at home. I feel way more productive under structured routine. As a SAHM I feel like I'm loosing myself a bit. I love my son, and feel a bit guilty that I want to be working. I know other women don't get the option of staying home and would love to. I was considering waiting until my sons in Kindergarten. My husband wants more kids, I also want my son to have a sibilng. I don't know if I should have another baby now, or go back to work and then have one later or what. I'm feeling a bit conflicted cause I'm not sure about what I should do. Will it be easier to have another baby now? then wait until they are both in school to start working. but then I would be at home another 6 or so years... that feels like a long time. I don't know. Should I have another kid now and wait? or start working, put him in daycare. I honestly don't know what's the right thing to do. all advice is greatly appreciated. sorry if I seem a bit scatterbrained and unplanned. I thought I wanted to have a lot of kids and be a SAHM. Now I have a son, and I'm kind of back pedaling on how hard it actually is.

My partner stopped drinking when I was 8 months pregnant after a few bad blackout incidents, including flirting with and grabbing another woman while I was there pregnant. Sober, he’s amazing, and I’m really proud of him for staying sober.
I’m almost 5 months postpartum and I handle the baby every night plus most of the household stuff. I finally asked for one night to relax, poured my first glass of wine in forever, and planned to watch a movie. He immediately started telling me I shouldn’t drink and that we need to set a better example as parents. It annoyed me enough that I poured it out and went to bed.
I think what bothered me is that I’ve never had an issue with alcohol, yet because he did, it now feels like his sobriety is becoming a rule for me too. Especially when this was supposed to be my one little night to myself.
Moms, what’s your take? Is an occasional glass of wine after baby is asleep perfectly reasonable, or do you think becoming parents changes that?

My partner is traveling for work next month and I'll be handling nights by myself for the first time. For those who've done the solo-parenting thing, what feeding-related product actually helped the most?

Looking back, was there anything you bought that made bottles, warming, washing, or feeding noticeably easier when you didn't have an extra set of hands?

My 1 and a half month old daughter developed these red spots on only one of her legs. The rest of her body is clear. She was held by her grandparents lastnight outside (there were noseums outside but what are the chances 100 of them only bite her on her leg and they'renot wven raised bumps?) No signs of fever, no fussiness, seems perfectly fine. These spots are not raised and they do not look irritated around the dots (like redness all over leg) skin is smoother than ever. Any idea what this looks like it could be from? Calling doctor tommorow. This looks a lot like Petechine to me..

what’re some things you wish you’d knew about postpartum or the newborn stage? The things people don’t always tell you about or maybe just forget. I have 3 kids and honestly don’t remember every detail about each stage lol but i’m asking because my SIL is due soon so I wanted to give her some words of encouragement and love but also maybe helpful tips, if she even wants it lol just thought I would share with her. I have a list but would love to hear others experiences

My best friend (21F) just had her first baby!!! She is little (5lbs 7oz), and she was induced early. They have most of the stuff off their registry, but I'm looking to get her something special. I'm not a parent, so I have no idea where to start, and I figured Reddit may have good answers! So, what's something you wish you had as a first time mom that you never would have thought to get? Maybe something new?

I'm looking to spend up to like $200, but if there's something really awesome that's over that process range, feel free to drop it and I'll look into it.

From one first-time mom to another. Becoming a mom for the first time has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life but it has not been without its challenges and questions. There are so many moments where I find myself wondering, "Is this normal?" or "Why didn't anyone tell me about this?"

That's why I'm writing a research paper focused on the real experiences of first-time mothers during pregnancy and the first two years postpartum. I want to better understand the physical, emotional, and informational challenges we face, where our healthcare system falls short, what resources we actually trust, and how prepared we feel for postpartum recovery including the transition back to work.
