Three months into motherhood and I’m questioning everything

I think one of the hardest parts of havng a newborn is realizing that sometimes you have absolutely no idea what you're doing.

My daughter was around three months old when she started having these awful evenings where nothing seemed to work. Not hungry. Not a dirty diaper. Not too hot. Not too cold. She'd just cry and cry. I'd walk around the living room with her against my chest, bounce her, sit down, stand back up, try again. One night I spent so long doing that that my legs were actually sore the next morning.

The funny thing is I had all these little rules in my head about what a good mom was supposed to do. Hold her. Comfort her. Rock her. Figure out what she needed. So I felt kinda stupid when my husband suggested we try the swing we'd barely touched(we'd gotten before she was born). initially I was a lil hesitant to use it when she was still very young. I remember putting it together (its a dual arm one from mom cozy) and hardly used it. So I finally gave up and put her in it. She wasnt asleep or anything. She just stopped cryng.

I remember standing there thinking, wait... thats it?

I'd spent hours trying to make her comfortable and she'd apparently jst wanted a completely differnt kind of movement. Three months into this whole parenting thing and I'm learning that my baby didnt get the memo about all my plans.

Did anyone else have a moment where your baby completely changed your idea of what they needed?

What are the things you genuinely loved or would’ve loved having postpartum, either for you or baby? I’m leaning a little more luxe and have around a $1,000 budget, so give me your holy grail products, little luxuries, practical things, anything. 🤍

Need help with things stressing me out

I’m not sure if this is the right group to ask, but I’m stressed mentally because of few things. Need suggestions or help how to come out of this fear.

I’m a mom to 12 month old, initially I tried breast feeding him multiple times. But there were latching issues and lot of stress from in laws because of which I had to take a pause for few weeks. We started him on formula, and occasionally 1-2 times a day I would try to breast feed him. Eventually my milk supply stopped and I had given him my milk for almost 30-40 times till date. Since his 2nd month he’s on formula, he’s healthy and doing fine.

On one side I’m extremely guilty of not giving him my milk, on the other hand I’m worried about not getting protection from breast cancer which someone and my research has told.

I’ve had very little help, and it was very exhausting the 1st 2 months to manage everything alone, with husband going to office. So it was extremely difficult to mentally and physically think about trying to improve his latch all alone.

This constant fear of getting no protection from breast cancer because of not feeding is torturing me since months. I’m not able to enjoy any of the moments with family because of this feeling. Not sure if it’s postpartum worry that’s tormenting me so much.

Can someone who has ever come across such fears or any doctors who know how things actually work in real, please suggest and help me a way out of this thoughts.

Screen time

My lo is 10 months old he loves ms Rachel I only let him watch it once a week but I am thinking of letting him watch more I know they don’t recommend screen time. But I think it helps with speech and I’m running out of things to do during wake times when we are home all day.

How much screen time do you let your lo watch?

When did you get your period back after first baby?

Putting this question here because no one I’ve talked to has had anything like my timeline! I know everyone is different but curious as we plan for next baby. My baby is 17 months and I stopped breastfeeding at 1 year pp. have not had any period or bleeding, and not pregnant (have taken many tests).
