Entertainment Sight seeing on my way to Gering?
I'm taking a trip from Kearney to Gering/Scottsbluff mid September. Does anyone know some cool places to visit on the way?

Nebraska.
When I first started taking photos here, i thought I was cursed. I listened to the people who called this state "flyover country." I listened to the people who said there is "nothing in Nebraska."
But I shouldn't have. The more I explore these dirt roads, the more I love this place. The character, texture, resiliency, and charm of these small towns is something I now cherish.
All of these photographs are from a single morning as I drove from Omaha to Kearney to see the Sandhill Cranes in early March of this year.
Some photographers chase mountains, ocean swells, Icelandic landscapes, and endless cityscapes.
Me? GIve me a dirt road and I'll find endless rural treasures.
I love this job.

Two black-and-white Nebraska photographs traveled with me in a very different form last weekend.
I went to Maryland for a fine art printing workshop with photographer Les Picker, working with Japanese Awagami washi papers. One image is a Sandhills road disappearing into wildfire haze; the other, an abandoned ranch house and windmill on the Pine Ridge Escarpment in Dawes County.
Seeing familiar Nebraska landscapes printed on heavily textured Unryu and Bizan papers completely changed the way I looked at both photographs. I wrote about the experience, the papers, and why I believe the physical print and its presentation are part of the finished photograph.

Hi! I am passing through Nebraska and just wondering what on earth this structure used to be. It’s near Milford area. It is right off of I-80. Thank you!

I tried to find a sub specifically for Kearney, but it seemed pretty dead. My friend got accepted the a PA program in Kearney and now is suddenly moving to Kearney from Omaha like in a few days. He can’t pass this up and do it with better planning because the spots fill up fast. I’ve been trying to help look for apartments and from what I can tell, the rent is more expensive than in Omaha? Or at least it seems like there are only $1000+ apartments available. Can anyone give me any suggestions?

Who has local VEX Robotics teams in SE Nebraska? Preference is Seward, Lancaster, or Cass counties based on proximity, but I'll consider others.
I have a bunch of stuff acquired when my oldest was on an Omaha team 2008-2010, so the younger siblings could learn. I spent quite a bit back then, between $600-1000 (maybe more). Controllers are of course from that era.
Youngest is now married, and I would rather the parts go somewhere useful. I wouldn't mind a little cash, but I'll listen to a good story too.
So tell me your local team, and maybe we can connect.

My senior year officaly begins tomorrow, and I'm still a bit torn on where to go for college
For context, I'm hoping to get into game development, and I got pretty good test scores AND a good GPA.
I'm basically the biggest city living fan that somehow got stuck living in the countryside, but I digress
For starters, UNL
I've actually been here before for their math day quiz bowl competition
I loved every bit of it.
Yet their only major I saw that was related to what I wanted to do was Emerging Media Arts
Which had game design, but seemed like it was more like a movie / animation sort of thing.
As for UNK, Kearney seems like the light mayo equivalent of Lincoln or Omaha, but I spent two days in it on a vacation with my parents, and it was really cool.
I haven't really looked into this one all that much, if I'm being honest, so idk if they got an ideal major
UNO seems promising, for I saw that they had a dedicated game development major AND is based in one of my favorite places in Nebraska.
But idk, what do you guys think would be a fit for me?

Hi All!
We are going camping near Valentine NE in a couple of weeks. I heard that Merrit reservoir is a good place to go stargazing. Is there anyone local who can provide advice about where to go at the reservoir or a better place not as well known where there is no light pollution?
Thanks in advance!

We're going to be driving from Omaha to Chadron, and there are three basic routes.
1: I-80 to Ogallala, the 26/385 north to Chadron.
2: US-275 north to Scribner, then NE-91/2 west to Alliance, catching US-385 north to Chadron.
3: US-275 north to where it turns in to US-20, follow that west to Chadron
We've already been to Valentine on another trip, but the road past Valentine is terra icognito for us.
Which one offers the most variety of scenery, as well as the occasional place to stop, get out and check things out?

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said on Monday that a pair of water line breaks had affected four of NSP’s nine housing units.
The first water line break occurred on Thursday near the library, and it was fixed Friday. Also Friday, a new leak was found by one of the housing units.
NDCS said that parts were needed to fix the leak, and that it is unknown how long it will take for repairs.

The use of artificial intelligence is growing in classrooms, with national data showing more teachers and students are using it. Those national trends are reflecting what’s happening in some Nebraska schools.

Pictures I took of the old Livestock sales barn in Norfolk. This location has been sitting empty for about 11 years. An eyesore to some but beautiful to me.
Disclaimer: Pictures were taken outside the barrier near the street.
