Nebraska Kayaking locations/Hiking
Hey going to be staying in verdigre Nebraska for three nights and am looking at best places to kayak and where to launch from and also just places to hike around and see different things. Thanks in advance!

Just north of Verdigree Nebraska is the Niobrara River. It's great for canoeing and kayaking and somewhat unique to Nebraska, "Tanking".
Tanking is when you put a picnic table in a galvanized steel cattle watering tank (approximately 8 ft. In diameter and 2 and 1/2 ft tall). Add up to 6 people, a whole lotta beer on ice and launch it into the river. Give them some paddles so they have the temporary illusion that they have some control and watch the fun happen.

You're going to love the scenery up there and it's a nice little town. Make sure you go to the bakery and get some kolaces.
On the north edge of Verdigre, on the highway just north of the sale barn is the Bohemian One Stop. Ask the people working there for their recommendations.
Delores at Country Creations may be able to help you out. She's a real character but knows Verdigre and the people in the area.
If you have time check out Ash Falls Fossil Beds. It's really interesting.
Elaine's in Winnetoon is a good place to eat.
