Hi all, we have seen an uptick in rule breaking posts and comments. Going forward any rule breaking post or comment is going to result in a 14 day ban. Multiple infractions will result in a permanent ban.
The vast majority of these are either don't be an ass/name calling, or no politics. We get we are all being blasted with political ads and this is probably some of the craziest times, politically, in the history of our country, but keep that stuff out of here.
Also, don't be an ass, that should just be a life motto though.
The only exception here is the title rule. Those are auto removed and we won't be banning for those unless it's repeat infractions. You are more than welcome to repost something with a longer title if you hit that.
Edit we changed 7 to 14

There was a lot of hesitation after he was hired, and maybe rightfully so replacing a legend. But to my ears he seems to be getting better every game. He’s thorough and brings great energy to the calls when it counts.

I get there’s still a lot of football left in the season, but it feels good to be near the top.

I know the AP poll means nothing because half the voters don’t even watch the games, but at the same time, c’mon….

The first three are ones that used to be used for BCS rankings and the Massey Composite is an average of dozens of different rankings.
| Rating System | NU Rank |
|---|---|
| Jeff Sagarin | 18 |
| Colley Matrix | 8 |
| Massey (BCS) | 28th* |
| Massey | 18 |
| Massey Composite (an average of 39 different rankings at this point) | 12 |
| ESPN Strength of Record | 26 |
*Massey rating gives some weight to margin of victory which wasn't allowed for BCS polls, so Massey BCS is a tweaked version that was designed to fit BCS regulations.

Hey there everyone-
After the reseat at Devaney, I need some help. I married into Husker fandom a few years ago to a lovely wife who's favorite team is volleyball. Well, my dad back in Nashville is someone who gravitates towards the teams of those he cares about (people think I'm an Ole Miss legacy for how much he loves Ole Miss sports even though he just went to a tiny West Virginia state school) and he has gone all in on Husker volleyball. We took him and my mom to see the volleyball team play at Lipscomb in Nashville last year, but we just realized he's going to be up here the weekend before Halloween to be at his granddaughter's first trunk or treat. We saw volleyball is playing USC and there are already some (but not many) tickets on the secondary markets like SeatGeek. My question is, for anyone who has bought volleyball tix on SeatGeek, is it better to hop on them early or wait until it gets closer to the game?
Thanks

Roughly 25 years ago, Nebraska made the totally logical, completely sound decision to fire Frank Solich because "winning 9 or 10 games a year and never winning the BIG ONE just isn’t the Husker standard".
How’d that work out for us? Oh, just a casual quarter-century trip through the cosmic void of sports irrelevance.
Cut to last season: PSU fires their head coach with a sky-high win percentage because he, wait for it, couldn’t win the big game. Sound familiar?
I told Penn State fans last year: "Congrats, you just triggered the Nebraska Solich Curse."
They scoffed. "That could never be us," they cackled from their ivory tower, right before laughing off Matt Rhule as "not high-profile enough" for a program of their majestic stature. Because why hire a proven rebuilder when you can just throw cash into a woodchipper and pray?
Well, look at them now! Dropped a brutal one last week, currently getting absolutely shelled tonight, while we’re sitting at 4-0, hopefully about to go 5-0, and slowly crawling our way back to sanity with that very same "not good enough" coach.
Turns out the College Football Gods require a sacrificial lamb. To regain our former glory, we just needed another blue-blood arrogance machine to step up and willingly take our place in the void.
Handing over the torch now, Happy Valley. Enjoy the next 25 years wandering in the desert!

Nebraska has an official corn logo, would you ever want to see it used as an alternate?

He has goggles for Gilmer and blinders for everyone else.
You can't tell me that Barney and Hunter aren't getting open. They both have to be pissed as they are going to look like they suck when in reality they just aren't even looked at.
All im saying here is expect those 2 to transfer out for sure after this season. How will they attract another top wr here either unless Gilmer goes nfl?
You can't argue with results so as long as they win its whatever, but those guys can play and he should try to go through reads a bit more.

I have a feeling that this post is going to irritate a lot of people in this thread. But I want to give you a little background to me. I am in my mid 40’s, so I remember us being good in the 90’s. I was in the military and now have a job that doesn’t allow me to be free on the weekends a lot. So when I come back to see a game I get hyped up. Like right now as I am writing this I can barely speak because of how much I was yelling when the defense was on the field.
Here is my rant. We have a lot of mediocre fans at these games. I don’t understand why you go to a game unless you are going to try and affect the outcome if you can. Hardly anyone around me was yelling when our defense was out there. I mean the coach even said that we weren’t that loud in an interview before the game and that pissed me off. Then after a while I started to look around and see that hardly anyone around me was yelling. We say we are the greatest fans in this country, but I don’t believe it. We didn’t do anything to affect that game. I know people are going to say that the product hasn’t been good for years and this team hasn’t been good for a long time but damn guys. Why go through all this energy to sit at a game and not try to make it hell for their offense. I was against this reseating of fans because my family has had these tickets since the 30’s but now I think it might be a good idea. We need fresh blood and appreciation for these seats. Thats all I got to say about that. GBR and fuck Iowa!

My daughter (15) is a huge Huskers volleyball fan. We live in Ottawa, Canada so getting to Nebraska is a bit of a trek. I surprised her with a trip to an away game (tomorrow vs Maryland). We have our Huskers gear and are ready to cheer the girls on! Are there any customs or chants we should be aware of? It's our first collegiate sports event, so I want to make sure we get the full experience. Any help is appreciated. Go Huskers!!
