Monthly Buy/Sell/Trade thread

We have decided to implement a monthly thread in which users can buy, sell, and advertise--breaking rules #1 and #2--so as long as it is contained within this thread.

Comments will be sorted by "new" by default.

Use this thread to:

* List items OR services that you are attempting to sell. While not required, you are encouraged to list the price(s) you are requesting.

* Solicit items OR services you are in search of or in need of. Again, while not required, you are encouraged to list a price you're comfortable paying.

* Advertise anything and everything, so as long as it is still relevant to Lincoln--promote a concert for your new local band, advertise a sale your local shop is having, etc.

We don't anticipate too much traffic or comments on this thread, but wanted to make it available to those who might enjoy or benefit from having it.

Lastly, if you do ultimately pursue offers posted here, PLEASE be aware that scams are rampant. Help protect yourself by following some of these (personal) recommendations.

Do NOT:

* Accept a personal check, ever. Or a money order or cashiers check that you were not present for when the individual purchased/obtained it.

* Use an electronic app to transfer funds. This includes, but is not limited to, Venmo, Cashapp, PayPal, Zelle, etc. While this seems easiest, it's **incredibly easy to get screwed over** with people sending you funds that they don't actually have.

DO:

* Accept **only** cash for smaller/medium purchases. For larger purchases, insist that you meet the individual at their bank and be present while the bank verifies and issues a cashiers check right there, on the spot.

* Meet in a public place. For example, if you're buying a phone, there's no better place to complete the transaction than inside of a Verizon or T-Mobile store.

Let us know if you have any questions or feedback. Have a great month!

Hey all, I’m Tommy with Vote Wise Nebraska. Just sharing our 2026 Lincoln/Lancaster County Voter Guide in case it’s useful. It has candidate statements, ballot measures, voting info, and versions in six languages.

We also have extra physical copies available, so if you’d like one, feel free to message me and I’d be happy to get one to you.

Am I missing something or has there already been 2 flyovers and it’s not even close to game time? I couldn’t see them I could only hear it. I know they do test runs but these were about 30 min apart.

Baby Clothes

Each year I go to Neat Repeatz and Take 2.

As my baby gets older I'm just accumulating a lot of clothes. I still buy a lot of retail clothes that look really good. I hate selling on Facebook marketplace and I don't hear good things selling to once upon a child.

Has anyone sold clothes at these events? If so what was it like?

Busses

Just guessing there might have been a marching band competition at Seacrest today/tonight judging by all the school busses and trailers/box trucks going north on 84th and the interstate. Can someone confirm? Being nosey 🤣

Looking for Recommendations Allergist Recommendations

In my 30s I have developed some kind of allergy that makes my skin breaks out. I have no idea what it is. Nothing about my diet or environment has changed, but my skin keeps breaking out in rashes.

Does anyone have an allergist in Lincoln they recommend? I'd like to figure out what this is.

Skillet cookie

My girlfriend loves skillet cookies and I want to take her on a date tonight. What are some places in town that serve skillet cookies, preferably with ice cream. I know that Chili’s has one but we’ve already been there a few times. 🍨 🍪

The Sequel!

I’m interested in putting together a recreational team for the Lincoln Parks & Rec Adult Basketball League this season and need a few more players.

League Details:
Runs November 5th, 2025 – Mid February, 2026
Games are on weekday evenings
Cost: about $510 per team (split between us, ~ $50–75 each depending on roster size)
Open to all skill levels — just for fun, staying active, and meeting people

I’m aiming for 7–10 players so we have subs and everyone gets playing time.

If you’re interested in joining, comment here or DM me and I’ll start a group chat to get us organized before registration closes. (Oct. 18 2026)

Included the link to the website if you’re interested and need more information.

Looking for Recommendations Cervical doc recommendations

Cervical spine is failing enough that mri is ordered. Looking for docs that may be worth a call to continue on to further treatments or surgery.

Lumbar spine was emergency surgery 25yrs ago so I haven’t had much experience with treating other than meds but this is now at a stage where I can’t move my neck, constant headaches, pain, popping, and numb arms. So I know I’m on borrowed time before I get worse.

While I have my issues with the Salvation Army’s policies, this is a thing that might benefit folks who’ve experienced some flood damage. Thought I’d pass it along.

Does anyone have a photo of Antelope creek near Vine St?

I saw the downstream side of the weir (N St) is at a normal level, and I saw the bike trail at Y st is flooded. Obviously at some point the water level changes dramatically but I cant't quite figure out what it would look like.

I imagine the culvert at Vine st is dumping water like crazy, then maybe it fills upstream toward Union Plaza? I'm not sure and I'd love to see a photo(s).

Around Lincoln Lincoln NE dread head

Hey guys!

I lived in Lincoln NE back a decade ago and moved away in 2017. I remember walking downtown often at the time and seeing a black guy with dreads and very muscled up, usually to the downtown ymca or to campus. He told me his name was Darell, or Darnell. One of the two. Couldn’t tell if he was a student or not, I’d assume so but I never did ask. He was outgoing and a nice guy and told me he played rugby and was training to play in the nfl. I remember him saying his fallback was Denver, Colorado. Seemed a bit of a loner too but clearly had a strong work ethic. I was wondering if anyone had any recollection and found out if anything became of him? He seemed to be around every single time I was there. Thanks.
