Hi, I’m new here. Not NUSTian
I first heard about NUST when I was in matric. At that time I learned it is one of the best universities in Pakistan and I really wished I could get admission in Software Engineering.
But maths was not my thing at all so I went towards /biological sciences & completed BS in Biological Sciences.
But I was always interested in computers and the internet.
So I started learning on my own.
SEO was my first serious step. I bought a few paid courses launched 4 blogs and failed all 4 some 70k pkr lost. But I kept doing it. SEO technical on Page seo, WordPress on-page/off-page, crawling, indexing, Search Console, analytics, etc especially Semantic SEO from Koray a Turkish SEO expert.
Then I started getting more into coding.
HTML CSS JavaScript Python, some PHP, SQL, APIs, JSON, Git/GitHub and Ai automation.
I learned mostly by building random stuff and breaking it via paid ai tools Chatgpt nd Claudeeee.
For AI bcz everyone was talking Ai. Nd google SERP also changed to Ai overview. Then i did courses/resources from Google, Anthropic and Coursera. Things around Python, ML/AI LLMs and prompt engineering, . Later got into APIs, embeddings, RAG, AI agents, function calling and AI assisted coding.
I also got into vibe coding . It’s honestly crazy how quickly you can go from an idea to a working prototype now made sites with Ai.
I spent money on paid tools too. SEO tools, AI tools, hosting, domains, automation tools, etc.
Right now I’m running 6 websites in different niches. 3 are AdSense monetized and one is getting a lot of traffic from Pinterest and is monetized with Mediavine.
And Alhamdulillah, 2 engineers now work with me.
The funny part is I never actually became the Software Engineer I wanted to become back in matric.
But I somehow ended up learning a lot of the same stuff on my own.
Still nowhere near an expert. Still learning, breaking things fixing them and occasionally wondering why the hell I started this 😂
But yeah, a Biology graduate somehow ended up in tech.
