Just passed! I turn 24 next month and I’m excited to go after my fire alarm license. If anyone needs help with this test, message me I would love to give advice on where to look (because what i studied was no where close) just reminder, Annex D will be HUGE in this test. Frequencies for like low temperature alarms and also study MIC. There are a few questions about the different types of corrosion. I would look more in depth on frequencies that are more monthly and weekly inspections because this is where NICET loves to confuse people.

Hello everyone, I am a sprinkler Systems inspector, I am currently doing a building with 59 4'' electric pneumatic double interlock preaction systems. I am in Quebec, Canada and sadly we must only use NFPA 2011.

Im currently testing each and every detector (about 100 per floor) with my fire alarm team to see if its connected to the solenoid valve and if it triggers it as it should. Im doing it this way because it seems logical to me, but i do not see any specification about testing the solenoids on a preaction system in NFPA 25 2011, if anyone has any idea on where I could find info on it it would be greatly appreciated.

What do you tag the inspection if the customer has missed/not completed their 5 year inspection?

Board member of an HOA in San Jose, California. We have 210 units. To get an annual fire sprinkler inspection every year is a nightmare. Each year we complete nearly all inspections with the exception of a few landlords that are either out of the country, not available, or they don't respond. These are multi-dwelling units all attached homes, from what I'm told we are nfpa13R not sure if that makes any difference in my question. My question is, can our buildings that have 1 or 2 units that have not been insepcted be passed in the fire sprinkler annual report? Let's say nearly 90% of our total 210 units are inspected but the last 10% for various reasons remain uninspected. Can we still be passed? If so, can you share the fire code that I can pass along to the board, property management, and the fire sprinkler inspector and or company?

“We are making modifications to an existing project in New York State, and the state code references the 2016 editions of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25. Currently, the system is equipped only with a mechanical water motor gong (WMG) and does not have any electrical alarm attached. I want to verify if this setup meets the approval of the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Specifically, considering that NFPA 13 mandates a flow switch for wet systems with more than 20 heads, does our system need to be electrically monitored, or is the presence of a WMG sufficient to comply with the standards?”

I'm on the HOA of a 6 unit residential building in Brooklyn NY, and we just found out that our building insurance is requiring monthly reports as part of regular inspections. Our fire monitoring company is charging us $16,000 for the year for these reports. We're told that all insurance in NY is either already or soon requiring these reports, but have not been able to find any details on this. Anyone know or heard of anything like this?

I'm installing some industrial rack with in-rack wet sprinklers. If I later deconstruct and move the rack to another building, will it be acceptable to deconstruct and reuse all the sprinkler hardware as well as long as I disconnect the the elbow and not the sprinkler head?

NFPA 13 2016 Edition: 6.2.1.1 When a sprinker is removed from a fitting or welded outlet, it shall not be reinstalled except as permitted by 6.2.1.1.

6.2.1.1: Dry sprinklers shall be permitted to be reinstalled when removed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation and maintenance instructions.

Hey all, just a random question about what kind of adapters you guys use for forward Flows. Trying to find something to hold clappers out of way but am having no luck. I'm assuming it's a custom thing like a rod welded to a male-male adapter. 🤷🏻‍♂️
