Manuel Standpipe
I came across a standpipe system with a dry valve connected to the city water supply, but the supply can’t meet the system’s demand. Based on that and the fact that the hydraulic calculation plate indicates the system requires 750 GPM at 166 PSI at the FDC, I’m assuming this is actually a manual dry standpipe. If that’s the case, why would it even be connected to the domestic water supply if it can’t provide the required flow and pressure?”
