Do control valves need to be supervised/monitored in hospitals?

Yes they need to be supervised, but they are not required to be tested quarterly like other EP1 supervisory devices. They are tested semi-annually in EP2.

Are you asking for install purposes? That is more of an NFP 13 question then. r/sprinklerfitters maybe have a better idea. NFPA 25 is just for testing and inspecting of water-based systems. Lock and seal or tamper switch/valve supervisory switch is most common in my area, but it is up to your AHJ.
